Untolerable, Unheard of and down right Unbelievable experiences
by REBORNAGAIN inhas anyone experienced something really outrageous among the jw's that you want to share?.
we once had a couple of jw's follow us (policeing us) as we were on our way to my (then, he's now my ex) husband's boss's home.
his boss wanted us over for an end of the year party and didn't consider it a christmas party because he knew we didn't celebrate christmas.

These brothers wanted to see where we were going and then have something to snitch on us about. Needless to say, we moved out of that town ASAP and didn't look back.

WELL....IF HE WAS SO HIGH AND MIGHTY, WHY WASN'T HE GOING TO BE HERE TO ENSURE NOTHING HAPPENS?
His attitude was just typical of someone who didn't want the responsibilty, who actually LACKED the responsibility and above all, who has NO LOVE for his Bros's & Sis's, otherwise...HE WOULD HAVE BEEN THERE TO HELP OUT. What an A***** he is.

Coming right out saying he was a Christian, may be his way of trying to ease your mind and not be so scared. I guess a person could always reply with, "Why do you tell me that?" On the other hand, a person saying they are a Christian, could be a way too to let others know, that he's doing this good deed because he is a Christian., i.e. reinforcing his good behavior. Hey...appreciate what he did, even if there are ulterior motives.

I still recall the day I got rid of my card. I went to a Healing Room and I was being prayed on (hands on praying) to release me of any bondages the JW's had hanging over me, when I suddenly remembered I had my card in my wallet still (had an issue date which was from the JW's standards considered expired) Anyway, I told the lady who was praying on me, "I can just see it now, I destroy it and the next thing I know, I'll need it for an emergency." She told me, "No, you won't need it. Just pray to God to give you strength and keep you safe." So I did and that was a few years ago and I am soooooooooooooooooooooo glad to have that card trashed. After reading that story about Robert Sitek (se my other posting), I now see how indespensible donating is and btw, when I was 11 years old (1967), I was no JW at the time, but was in a major sledding accident, ruptured my spleen and not having the medical records to verify anything, my local current MD told me, more than likely I lost a considerable amt. of blood and definitely had blood transfusions. Hey...I wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for the donators. Bless their hearts.

I hope you will drop by Eric's place of work sooner than later. He sounds like a real friend. His attitude really teaches us how real Christians should behave. There is definitely more joy in giving. Look how joyful he made you feel.
I have learned over the past few years, that EVERYTHING happens for a reason. Even meeting Eric had it's reasons. He was one step to making you an even better person yet. We can learn so much from these "outsiders" who are real people, who show real love and who really care. Hey, that sounds like you & me and most of the others in here. Oh, duh, I forgot, We are "outsiders" now too. And proud of it.

Do you think the elders or the society know....
by B_Deserter inthat a lot of the people on these sites are people in the organization.
well, they probably assume that.
but i wonder if they are aware of people that have been going to these sites for years but just staying in for various reasons.

REBORNAGAIN
Your comments reminded me of somethings:
".....you all could be like the true Christians mentioned in the Bible-helping others (samaritans, widows, orphans (non JW),"
I knew of one brother who was hitchhiking to get to work because his car broke down. It was a cold and windy and rainy morning and two sister drove by and NEVER even thought about stopping to pick him up. Why? "How would that look, if we have a guy in the car with us?"
To h*** with what the JW's think or tell us to do. If a person is in need, and I don't care if he's a so-called worldly person, we should be there for them. I am soooooooooooooooooooo happy to be a so-called wordly person now. Now I appreciate the outside world and even more so than the JW's. "You reap what you sow?" Yepp! JW's don't help others (outsiders), so why should they receive help from them Outsiders? At times they do take advantage of outside benefits don't they? Hypocrites.
".....one of them doesn't want to be dis-inherited by his ageing parents (money is very important to him)."
That is no guarantee. My Ex's Grandmother donated all of her money (thousands) to the WTBTS and left NOTHING for her only surviving son & daughter who were both strong Witnesses. My Ex-father-in-law was pretty upset about that. That meant, no $$$ for his grandchildren either.

REBORNAGAIN
I personally think there are alot of pseudo Bro's & Sis's who are just too sacred to admit how they really feel Who are too whatever to live up to what they really feel is right. Too many stick with it because the others do, e.g. their closest friends and/or relatives. If they could just muster up enough courage and above all be honest with themselves, they'd be a whole lot happier.
Since leaving the Borg, I will NEVER allow another religion or person ever talk me into anything ever again. From now on, I do what I feel is right, decent, just and what I know God approves of, no matter what others may think *Hallelujah! Amen & Amen!

Your most hated Kingdom Songs ever...
by B_Deserter inwe all know that skilled songwriters the brothers are not, so what are your most hated kingdom songs?
the ones that made you cringe when you saw them listed on the km or watchtower?
mine?.

REBORNAGAIN
I left the JW's back in 1999, and the songs I didn't like, I don't even remember them...it was only the good ones I remembered. But.....after attending other churches, I now have a different style of music preferences and now all them JW tunes turn me off. The music I listen to now, REALLY makes you feel something for Him. It makes you realize, "Hey, He must really enjoy this music, it's directed to Him totally. It is total praises to Him. I felt NOTHING while singing them so called Kingdom songs. One example...Hillsong Church, WOW...their music is powerful.... "One way, Jesus, You're the only one for me". AMEN!

The Rest of My Story-The Fading Years
by okiesooner1966 ini would like to start by saying the years following high school were probably even more stressful than before.
the very day i graduating i moved out of my parents house, it took all of three weeks to get my next commitee meeting.
i did a horrible thing by going on a graduation trip with some of my classmates, even though all did was party like it any other kid my age, which thier parents paid for thier trp it was enough for me to be disassociated, though i was not baptized at the time it was the same as being disfellowshipped.

REBORNAGAIN
Hey Okiesooner...way to go. I am so happy for you that you are released from their bondages and that you can live your life...I mean REALLY live your life now. Sad to hear about your first marriage, but hey....I am certain there are a lot of JW marriages in the same boat. I left the JW's and my Ex all with the same year. I didn't get DF for divorcing him (we had no grounds) but I did get DF for living in the house for 2 weeks AFTER the divorce. What was he supposed to do, throw me out on the street until I found an apt.? I am the mother of his kids who at the time were still living in the home. The Elders expected me to apologize for being in the house still. NO WAY José! I didn't see anything wrong with that. My Ex apologized, ONLY because he didn't want the JW's in the neighborhood to keep their distance from him, because of our then 9 yr. old son's sake. What a wimp. No backbone to stand on his own two feet and speak his mind and/or do what he felt was right. As far as I know, he no longer attends meetings. Was married a couple of years ago to a Philippino JW in the Phillipines who according to the US Law, was still considered married to her husband. My Ex and her were married for two whole years and he waited and waited to have her come over to the USA. It never happened, so that marriage got annulled. And she was supposed to be a JW? *LOLROF*
