so all this talk at the moment about funerals and stuff got me thinking... what kind of an exit party would i like?.
i reckon i would not want anything too formal, but i would want loads of people saying how great i was - i people to notice that i am no longer around, and be sad about it!
i want people to share good memories.

My point was simply that those who care for the planet and the other people on it should consider an option other than cremation. To people so self-absorbed that they would rather do the most destructive thing they can even when it confers no benefit to them that may appear as political correctness but to the rest of us it's just common decency.

Cremation is not an eco-friendly way to go. I don't want my last act on earth to be one of further environmental destruction. Assuming I don't figure out a way to live forever, I'd like my remains to be buried in an area of outstanding natural beauty and a tree planted over them. The ceremony should, unsurprisingly, be without religious content. Inspirational readings could be given and suitable music played as people celebrated my life and mourned my passing. I want to be buried by my friends and family, not a mere symbolic scattering of earth as is traditional in Christian ceremonies, but everybody grabbing a shovel and "digging in" until my grave is covered. And then a massive party which unfortunately I'll be too dead to enjoy!

Apart from sports players, humans don't seem to wear clothing for physical protection of the genitals. No "tribal costume" from a loincloth to a pair of jeans offers much in the way of protection. It seems to be due to the fact that - uniquely among primates - we are constantly on our hind legs, and thus exposing our genitals, a state that among the males of other primates is usually taken as a sexual display.
Basically, if you can see a male primate's tackle, it means he wants some. Clothing perhaps began as our attempt to compensate for the fact that our bipedalism made us look more sexually agressive than we really were.
