  some historians date the beginning of the end of the soviet empire to the chernobyl disaster, for the reason that for several days after the explosion, as the radioactive cloud floated quietly over europe, the soviet government said nothing to warn people of the dangers that may have minimized some of the exposure.

  it ruined their credibility, from which they never recovered.

  presently, the whole capitalist system has an even worse credibility problem.

  in all seriousness, i would like to know from anybody in this forum if anybody on here had ever experienced such an "annointing".

  even though i do not believe in the tower and its teachings for a couple of years now, i would always question the supposed "feelings" an "annointed" person was suupposed to have.

  in light of younger people claiming to be of this "annointed class" in recent years, i question their motive and all of those that were older which were most likely "annointed'".. thanks

  that being said the august 15, 2002 edition of the watchtower carries the cover article "to whom should you be loyal?

  " which contains several experiences of ones who gave up their old religion and despite much opposition became jehovah's witnesses.

  there i was, enjoying a lovely warm morning in sunny winscombe in deepest somerset whilst working on a clients roof, when out of the corner of my eye i espied 3 ladies sauntering up the road at a leisurely 0.5mph.

  aha, i thought, that looks like the pioneer crawl, there's dubs on the horizon!

  i had my car parked in the customers driveway, so i thought to myself "why not take a break now, sit in the car and munch my blt, and see if they approach?".

  Why did the society shut down it's radio station?

  on an earlier thread about the wt's tv commercials i said that the society used the media before, more specifically i reffered to their radio station.

  it seems to me that they quit using it because they were pressured to.

  i remeber reading something, somewhere about the provacative, imflamatory nature of rutherford's remarks being the principal factor.

  What are you talking about? I have seen many kids who said the Allegiance, yet they don't know what they are saying and don't know all the words to it. So, are you going to ask them to leave the country?
