  Otherwise do what you are able to do in the spirit of fun and happiness for your own sake and that of others.

  Scanning the Obituaries for lost loved ones

  am i the only person here who scans the obits in their 'home town' paper for the names of lost family because you know you would not be notified of their passing?

  afterall, god forbid that you show up at their funeral and ruin it with your apostate presence.. just wondering....

  what is it about a person's believing they are "right" that leads them to being arrogant?

  you've surely noticed that the more sure a person is that he's right, the more likely he is to treat those that disagree with him with disrespect.

  it's hard to see how a person can disagree with something that you know is right.

  There're so many sound ideologies and opinions around that if you've got a healthy forum it's useful too put ideas up against each other to help explore your own truth. If you come at it from the point of view of everyone understanding your point of view without trying to turn it around, your mindset is gonna give you lots of conflicts and internal challenges. It should be far more about learning about how your own views fit into an arena full of others views. If anyone slags you off they're probably in that CONFLICT zone themselves, feeling you're having a personal jibe at their persona - even if you're not. Understanding this will help you not to take it personally when someone criticises you, compelling you to respond in kind or else withdraw into a depressed state. Better to ask them why they feel how they do and explain yourself and if they don't respond you've done all you can.

  It amazes me, that no violent acts have been perpertrated against the JW's

  when i listen to the news about the school shootings in virginia, and the previous school shootings elsewhere, it amazes me that nothing similar has ever happened in a kingdom hall.. i'm totally against violence but i know that it just takes a nut, to do something like this, and there are plenty of nuts and angry people running around.... so many lives have been broken because of the watchtower, and so many jw's and xjw's are unhappy because of this sect.. are you also amazed that there has hardly been any violent crimes agaist jw's or the watchtower?.

  I recall the elder whom I conducted my Bible study telling how he awoke one morning to find a letter on the foot of his bed placed there whilst him and his wife were sleeping!

  It was later found to have been placed there by an individual who had been in and out of The Truth?' over the years whom I'd spoken to on occasion. And in retrospect it seemed to fit some of the odd questions I'd been asked over the preceeding weeks - as if I'd been a viable suspect - seeing as how new I was to their community! Just one of the many things that undermined my confidence in the people I was commiting my everything to!

  I can see with the long term hurt and debilitated spirituality how that guy must've been feeling and how he may have decided to freak them out in some odd way saying as how they'd done that to his life and didn't recognise it! Funny when I look back how I didn't take the numerous warning signs to shift all the blame of my own shoulders. I must've been really under their mind control program! It's the giving you no forum to air your feelings to any of them that keeps you under the kosh!

  Sad memories for reasons too numerous to mention!

  hello dear friends...

  i have a chance to get to dallas for the crawfish party on may 6th..i live in austin, tx and was planning on taking a bus to dallas on sunday....( i really dont like to drive in dallas)

  the problem is i need someone to help me to get from point a to point b//namely from the bus station to the party and from there i would need a place to stay for sunday night...my funds are limited so was hoping to room with someone at the nearby hotel..or someones home if thats possible..
