If a jw is having hard times then they believe the end is near or at least hope it is near. If they are having good times they could care less.

Did you help clean the Kingdom Hall, yard work, maintenance?
by Thechickennest inat one hall i attended for serveral years had a lawn covering large man-made burms with trees and bushes.
it was a difficult yard to mow and maintain.
i have often wondered why we all pitched in and worked so hard for nothing.

They worked me like a dog. I was always big built so I guess they though they could use me like a mule. Several years ago I was working on one of our major renovations, and there were several elders and ministerial servants standing around having a good time eating and telling the very few workers what to do. Finally I realized the situation and yelled 'we have more chiefs than indians around here', and I left never to do any more work again. Around the same time is when I started to research the society, so all of it together made me realize the whole society thing is bull****.

What drives me nuts, is that the die hards just keep going along with the ' just around the corner thing'. It's like they have no memory at all. The boy who cried wolf was thinking of humor, the society is thinking of money. When people realize they are being had, the humor and money dries up. I love the way the poster handled it, it sure brought the wife to her senses.
The get ready for the end part reminds of an old joke that was actually printed out to appear as an actual warning for what to do in case of an atomic explosion, when I was a kid. It went through a long list of things you needed to do and at the end it said , then climb under a table, desk , etc, place your head between you legs and then kiss you *** goodbye.

At the close of trading friday the dow was down 394.64, nasdaq down 75.38 s & p down 43.37 . Oil was at 138.54 per barrel the euro to dollar was at 1.57. I paid 4.33 per gal at a sams club discount. It appears that investors are investing in commodities, the more they do the higher commodities will go. The feds will probably start increasing rates again to try to stabilize the dollar, but will play havoc on the economy which already is suffering from credit crisis. Banks will hang onto their money. More and more houses going into foreclosure and it cannot be stopped. Housing prices will have to drop to the level of renting. People will begin to come out of the credit spending stupor they have been in . Not only are americans tapped out with their credit, banks are being very particular who they will lend to. One day we will hear people say 'boy it was good while it lasted'.

The jws are hypocrites. Do not read harry potter, but you can watch cinderella, snow white, wizard of oz, and the list goes on. My elder friends daughter has them all and loves them all. All the old fairy tells are full of fantasy, magic, etc. It all comes down to one person trying to tell another person what they should or not do. The jws do what they want and then tell others what they should want. When anyone starts to give me advice I ask them what makes them an authority on the subject. It always turns out to just be their opinion. If that does not work I tell them that when they are fininished advising me , that I would like to return the favor and give them some advice. That will end the conversation.

A little off the subject, but I use what is called 'Advanced search bar' , which a utility which is a zoom. You just click on it at any time to either zoom in or out , it is not a magnifier but makes the web page readable in larger or smaller print, but still viewable in the window. You don't have to scroll back and forth. You can download it for free. I works great at least for me.

when she left she was adamant she would never be back, and now here she was.. is this true for the most part?.

Noah might have been a preacher of rightiousness, but he wasn't given the job to preach to the people, he was only told to build a boat. Jesus told the apostles to go and preach the good news to all the earth, but they went with the holy spirit. They performed miracles, and they did cover the earth that the bible deals with, not the entire world. The society takes all this information out of context and applies it to themselves today.
