  Encounter with a long time elder. (Jehovah's happy people)

  so i'm at work and go to my vehicle parked outside the empty property i'm working at and an elderly man comes out of next door and we recognise each other from when we were elders in the same circuit.

  he is early 80's in age, a jw since the 1960's and so the next generation in age up from me.. he's an outwardly jolly sort and asks how i am etc.

  (knows i'm not an elder but thinks i'm pimi) and asks if i want a cup of tea so i go in and sit in his kitchen for my lunchbreak and have a chat.. i have a little fish around and ask about how jw's in his hall are.

  FREDDO- Thanks for sharing this experience. Very sad for this man. Reminds me of how my older parents were before they died. Especially my elder dad. I feel my mom had broken out of the WT mindset, but my dad held on to the end. Very sad as all these older JW's were promised they'd NEVER die ! Which was and remains an outright lie. I feel sorry for them that they were so trapped inside the WT inside their heads through mind control- that they never felt they had any other options not even exiting the Witnesses.

  For many of them - the shock of having the rug pulled out from under them after 50 or 60 years - would have been enough to kill them from heartbreak or heart attacks or strokes quite possibly. Many people at that age aren't able to make these changes and face up to the fact that they just wasted their entire life on a fantasy - or a pipe dream

  LISA ROSE- Thanks for the opening thread. Because of observing this from a man's standpoint in whom his mother raised him up right in respecting equal rights of women I find it disgusting how this poor woman was treated by these elders and the man who raped her. When a woman says no, she means no. These elders bringing down the hammer of blame on her by disfellowshipping her was disgusting. And how many hundreds if not thousands of times have JW judicial committees made those kind of unjust decisions in the past ?

  That was part of what caused me to exit this disgusting organization back in 2003. I observed many times elders always acting like they were appointed by " God " himself - even when they gave out idiotic counsel and insanely stupid judgments ! As in this woman's case. I experienced very unjust treatment as well from JW elders.

  To treat rape the same way as two consenting adults having sex is nothing but abuse of the victim involved. It's like they've had an open sore or scab torn open again by insensitive men who don't have an ounce of sensitivity within them.

  Ladies- not all men on this planet are like that. There are many of us who get totally outraged at this abusive conduct towards women just like you do. And we are those men who will stand up right along side you in women's marches for equal rights and treatment.

  Whether it's abuse towards women or minor children being abused- I feel we all have a responsibility to call it what it is- crimes against humanity and abuse of power. It's how I see this. Whether it happens by government officials, or within religions being winked at by elders in JW's or pastors of churches - it needs to be vigorously exposed and prevented and stopped

  Very interesting ! Thanks for putting this together. I find it really interesting regarding the graph titled ' Max Publisher Increase in % ' . From the year 2000 until here in 2017, the increase has been at 3 % or lower, really has gone downward since the 21st century started. Good news. Perhaps people are waking up to the scam called the WT Society

  Why do Jehovah`s Witnesses believe everything will be Hunky Dory after Armageddon ? I have news for them.

  they seem to think that all they will do is enjoy a carefree life with little or no concerns problems or worries whereas nothing could be further from the truth... according to the bible.. without trying to speculate on these concerns or problems during this one thousand year reign of christ jesus ,lets hear what the bible has to say about the end of his thousand year reign.. rev.20:7-10 satan is to be let out of his prison {as if he hasn`t done enough damage in 6000 years of roaming about in the earth at the same time fraternizing with jesus and jehovah in heaven} i digress.. and the reason he is let out of prison ,lo and behold ,is to mislead those nations in the four corners of the earth gog and magog to gather them together for the war.

  { here we go again ,armageddon didn`t solve anything we have to go through another one.

  } 1000 years later.. now get this it`s not just some isolated little skirmish with a few hundred or even a few thousand dissenters ,as the bible states they number the sands of the seashore and they advanced over the breadth of the earth and encircled the camp {not a nation but a camp} of the holy ones.and the beloved city.. with that description it would seem the holy ones are in the minority and the opposes apparently were spread over all the earth.. so that description of the bible to me about jc 1000 rule does not appear to be one of living in a paradise , that is not on the agenda until after jesus christ 1000 year reign and only if you are lucky enough to survive another test/war of your loyalty after all you have gone through previously.. i wonder if this realization is one of the reasons why so many now are claiming to be of the anointed because as one of the other sheep you have to pass another test after the 1000 years of christ jesus rule whereas of one of the anointed on death now you go straight to heaven ..

  NotNew- Very true. This is one reason - in my opinion- that it's so hard for JW's to deal with real life in the here and now- they are so focused on this imaginary " paradise " - they don't learn how to live in reality right now in the real world

  I have news for them as well. The JW's have a hell of a lot more to worry about than an imaginary " Armageddon " or a "paradise " ( which will never happen ), and a hell of a lot more to worry about in the here and now than an imaginary " Satan the Devil " who does not exist who may - allegedly - torment them in 1,000 years. ( which will never happen )

  JW's need to worry about doing something they tend to ignore or devalue constantly- and that's living in the real world, everyday in the here and now - planning for their financial security in the short years left of life they have left to live here on this planet before dying of natural causes. They need to break out of this unreasonable fantasy that anybody ever lives forever ( which they don't ) , and they need to pull the little WT voodoo doll pins out of their head that make them believe in unrealities and lies of the WT Society.

  Unless JW's wake up to these facts they will die in an even sadder state than those of us who are Ex-Jws who have gotten used to the idea that yes indeed- every human who has ever been born - WILL DIE. If a person STAYS a JW until death they upon dying either remain in their fantasy thinking incorrectly that they'll live again ( which won't happen ) or they die awakening to TTATT - sadly realizing upon death that they wasted their entire life on a pipe dream .   aside from obvious things that most people agree on, like theft being wrong and the importance of family, i can't think of a single thing i agree with the jws on, nothing that's specific to their religion anyway.

  Sorry, just woke up, what was the title of the thread ? Oh, O.K. I'll go back to sleep , nothing to see here . zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz . As you can figure I don't agree with much of anything they say. Everything they teach is either fantasy, illusion, or enriches the WT organization's business plan. That's the angle that is used.

  I can learn good morals & ethics from just having common sense . Or watching Trump. No- scratch that last sentence. lol

  As Freddo mentioned - Are there no reports of how many partook of the emblems at the Memorial this year ? Are WT leaders getting nervous that it might jump from 18,000 partaking to 30,000 in one year's time ? LOL. Wouldn't that be hilarious if the number jumped up to 144,000 or more within 5 years or so ? Then WT could claim that all of the prospective " kings " and " priest's " ruling in heaven have been chosen since 2010 !!

  This is awesome news ! I wish Leah could spend more time than just one episode on Jehovah's Witnesses ; but I understand there are hundreds of damaging mind control cults out there to expose. I think it will be a good format exposing different cults each week . Awesome ! Leah's the bomb . Pretty cool
