Difficult to internalize that all the connections are gone
by truthseeker ini was in my old stomping ground a couple of months ago and happened to be walking past the home of an old family friend.
word is in the hall that i used to go to is that "i am one of them" meaning apostate.
no one from my old hall has contacted me to find out what happened.

TRUTHSEEKER- I totally understand where you are coming from. I was born and raised in the JW cult until age 44 when I exited years ago. I have no connections with old JW friends I used to know ( except a former buddy who's still a JW in another state and his wife who I am trying to gradually awaken to TTATT ) , but I'm quite sure that the former associates who are JW's that I knew in my old geographical area have been told all kinds of wild stories about my life now. Even some JW's in my own family won't talk to me, and I'm just inactive for 14 years , stopped attending, not dfed.
In time we start making quality friendships with people who see us for who we really are. People who see us for the humane , kind , and loving qualities we possess, not the WT cult characteristics that JW ' friends ' wanted to see in us. We make REAL friends with REAL people , not fake people who put conditions on our friendships. THat's what I've learned in gaining friendships with ex-JW or non-JW people these last 14 years. These new relationships are priceless.

"In a human moment before Jehovah grabbed her"
by truthseeker ini often wondered how far back the witnesses had been involved with my family.
my grandmother died at the end of 2013 and while going through her photos we found some of my great-grandmother, dora, who was born in 1901 and died in 1994. there is a photo of dora dated 1946 standing outside her house in east riding, yorkshire.
on the back of the photo her husband had written "in a human moment before jehovah grabbed her".. my great grandfather, who died before i was born, did not like the witnesses.

I often wonder if my non- JW grandparents were saddened when my folks got into the Witnesses in the early 1950's. It seems your great grandfather was saddened that his wife had joined a cult. So many people have lost so many family members to this unethical WT organization. Sad. Thanks for sharing a little bit of you and your history with us. Take care, Peace out, Mr. Flipper

Jehovah`s Witnesses / Governing Body Claim To Abhor Child Sexual Abuse Within Their Congregations /Members who are victims.?
by smiddy3 inso my question to them is why have they continually failed to report incidents of child sexual abuse of child members in their congregations to the appropriate authorities ,either police or child protection agency`s, when they are holding judicial committees into these allegations in their congregations when they occur or even some time after ?.
they have consistently failed to do so.. and this failure to do so is not confined to one country ,it is a pattern that is repeated worldwide ,in one country after another country .

while attending the thursday night ministry school meeting (on thanksgiving day), i was cautious not to mention the word thanksgiving, for fear of bringing reproach to bigj.. now, free at last, my happy thanksgiving wishes to everyone who celebrate this holiday..

Good riddance to this disgusting piece of puke. May he rot and deteriorate and become worm food .
Not only did he and his followers kill a pregnant woman and others, he forever tarnished the Beatles song ' Helter Skelter ' by giving it a totally wrong application and definition. The Beatles song ' Helter Skelter ' was a song about a roller coaster ride in England by the same name. Then Manson comes along and applies it to his race war he wanted to start. Kind of reminds me of how WT Society misuses definitions of words to serve their own cults ambitions as well. And WT Society misusing words also costs people their lives. Either wasted lives, people committing suicide, child abuse, or JW's dying due to not getting life saving blood transfusions - WT Society is a cult with cult leaders , just as much as Manson was a cult leader. Both were and are deadly and have destroyed many lives. Sick

FINKELSTEIN- I agree with you that in the years I was a JW - elders in all the congregations I attended kept child abuse cases VERY quiet. Nobody knew WHAT was going on. Hell, I wasn't aware there was a WT child abuse problem until several years AFTER I exited in 2007. That being said - as the years go on the general public AND I believe JW's who are getting more frustrated are coming out more openly and talking about child abuse within their congregations as more and more of these abuse cases come tumbling out of the WT closet.
Your statement about the elders handling child abuse - " when it does occur they just basically handle it in similar fashion as another act of sexual misconduct. " I somewhat disagree with you on that statement. From all the cases of fornication and adultery I saw within JW congregations it seems like elders were MORE intent on dfing somebody on extremely slim evidence when it came to fornication and adultery. I saw cases when just hearsay would convict a person of adultery or fornication- and elders would push HARD at a person for hours on end to coerce a confession from them for adultery or fornication.
It's NOTHING like that when a case of child abuse come up in JW congregations. It's like they won't do ANYTHING to convict a pedophile unless two witnesses come against the abuser. Then, they dilly dally along while WT legal has to be contacted , and by then the pedophile has either moved to another area to escape detection, or abused 7 or 10 more children while WT legal puts their net or cloak of secrecy over the whole matter. It's fucking disgusting and criminal. So in what I've seen- WT elders are WAY more severe against acts of adultery or fornication than child abuse. And that's just wrong and criminal
