" The Rarimuri woman ( the JW ) has charged that in overruling her to make medical decisions on behalf of her child, she has been discriminated against on grounds of her ethnic origins and religious beliefs. " No- she's being ' discriminated ' against because she's endangering her child's life by making idiotic and death dealing medical decisions which will kill her daughter. Which is why the daughter should be kept placed under guardianship away from a mother who allows her daughter to die because of some half baked superstitious belief.

When someone you love has gone.
by compound complex insince i don't have you,i conjure up an image thatis both real and ideal.. what i do recall is etched in sharp relief, but deeply, in dark caverns of my mind.. the heart is a better well of reminiscence as it draws upan intangible but true past.. a newfound, tranquil corner inme reassures that love, thoughgone missing, is never lost..

CoCo- I love the final line to your poem- I am currently transforming into that place in my life still ( albeit at times through tears ) as my mom passed away last December and my dad died a few months ago in July. They were married almost 70 years . Music , listening to it and playing it , my wife, my adult son, and close friends and some non-JW family all help to ease that pain of loss. The ' newfound, tranquil corner ' is what I eagerly anticipate as I throw myself back into living and life, caring, and loving. As the Beatles once said, " And in the end , the love you take , is equal to the love you make."
You are creating and making love abound by your kind poem here today. Much appreciated my friend. Take care, Peace out, Mr. Flipper

This week's "Give Us Your Money" meeting item.
by freddo inif you went to it, (or go later this week) how was it handled?
just the video or some commentary too?.
i have heard of a few negative comments from some that attended - one jw even openly said to me "not very encouraging, all they go on about is money lately" and another (a serving elder, no less) said "someone's got to pay for all those lawsuits".

FREDDO- Thanks for the thread. Needs to be bumped up to show the disgusting lack of shame in WT leaders begging for money

Signing Away Your Hard Earned Cash
by Disassociated Lady 2 inreading the meeting workbook study for this week to see what my family will be reading at their meeting, once again they are asking for members for generous gifts not only from money they earn but also part of any investments they may have and making future arrangements for them to inherit after death through their wills.
take a look at the lower part of the page on this link, its awful!

Dissassociated Lady- Thanks for the thread and the link. It's disgusting all the ways that the WT Society begs for money out of it's JW members. WT leaders have no conscience whatsoever

As a freshman in my first year at high school, the P.E. coach saw that I had considerable skills as a baseball player. Always had good hand-eye coordination. Could hit the ball hard and ( believe it or not ) fast as lightning in the outfield ( couldn't tell now though ) . So the coach asked me to be on the team to come to practice and join up.
I went home and asked my elder dad and he immediately said, " No, you can't be on the baseball team. It will interfere with meetings on Tuesday night " . I begged him and told him I wouldn't let it interfere, but he was determined to NOT let me be on the team. So I had to go back to school and tell my coach I couldn't join the team because of my dad. The coach was really pissed off and he just shook his head and said , " I'm sorry son " . It's a regret I'll always have from my JW youth.
Later though I was able to pursue playing guitar and music as an adult, another thing my dad tried to restrict in me, and I'm playing guitar, singing, and writing songs to this day still. Which I'll do the rest of my life. Dad kept me from playing baseball, but he couldn't stop my music ! So that's a good thing !

What was the biggest thing that convinced you that
by Ponyo in.....the truth was not the truth... ?
.

What made me believe it was not " the truth " ? Oh god, where do I start ?
1. The hypocrisy among elders and appointed leaders in the JW organization. The covering over of child abuse cases to handle those cases " inside the congregation " and the preventing of victims and family of victims from going to police about it. And the WT Society's instruction to elders to call WT legal first before reporting any child abuse to police themselves. That tells you right there that all they are concerned about if paying out money to victims. And it getting leaked out to the media.
2. The failed " last days " prophecies with no " end of the world " in sight. Over the centuries there have been hundreds if not thousands of apocalyptic cults and religions saying the "end is near, the end is near ! " - but it never happens. It's just a scam or marketing tool to keep members of these religions, Jehovah's Witnesses included , trapped in fear so as not to leave the cult or religion. A way to keep people trapped through fear. My recently deceased parents in the Witnesses since 1951 were told that they'd NEVER die. Now they're dead. And everybody else who is a JW young or old - WILL die. It's a fact of life. No one here gets out alive.
3. The preventing of young people from going to college to get a good education in order to get a good, steady job. Disgustingly the WT Society kept telling JW's that they'd get a college education from reading the Awake magazine. What was THAT all about ? Once again, WT Society was trying to control JW's minds on what to think and how to think. Enlavement of minds.
4. The no blood transfusion policy. Another disgusting WT policy. WT leaders should be brought up on charges of murder of thousands of JW's on this one. There should be criminal indictments of WT policy makers as thousands of minor children, as well as men and women have been allowed to die for the sake of this misguided and abhorrent policy. And then the WT Society changed the policy to allow " blood fractions " to be used by Witnesses ? Then who is to be held responsible for the thousands of deaths of JW's who refused blood before the " fraction " policy came into play ? WT leaders should he held accountable, that's who. But they won't as religion is looked at as a " sacred cow " untouchable in our American society. Disgusting if you ask me.
5. And last but not least, the " shunning " policy in which JW's shun not only people who are difellowshipped or kicked out of the organization, but they also shun just inactive JW's who haven't attended for years. I stopped attending in 2003 and my adult daughters shun me, some of my siblings, and I'm not included in my only grandchild's life. What, if any form of that is " Christian " behavior ? Many of us EX-JW's experience this shunning and it's psychologically stressful over a long period of time. Some people can't deal with it and commit suicide as they see no end to the shunning from their family. Once again- what if any part of this policy by the WT Society is considered " Christian " ? Nothing whatsoever. It's a man made doctrine meant to keep JW's trapped mentally so that any ex-JW can't reason with active JW's and save their ass by helping them exit the JW cult. Once again, to WT leaders- it's all about CONTROLLING JW's.
So these 5 subjects are the main ones that helped me to exit. Hope this helps. Take care, Peace out, Mr. Flipper

My story and what I'm trying to do with it
by Ft2188 inmy dad was an elder my entire life and my sister a regular pioneer for most of my life, along with my mother.
ill never forget being 4 years old and staring up at the stars outside and my dad leaning over to and saying "look what jehovah made for you".
my response, "but how do you know god is real"?

Ft2188- Thanks for sharing your story. Incredibly powerful story of how this mind control cult Jehovah's Witnesses can absolutely tear families apart. I'm so sorry that you went through that. But many of us, myself included are being shunned and cut out of our adult children's lives or even our grandchildren's lives for leaving the JW organization. It's really criminal that many of us are treated this way. Your experience was even more extreme having to live out of your car and being homeless. My god.
I really admire you for writing a book and trying to help others who have been through these similar experience. And you are right - it will not only help others by getting their experiences out there too, it will be a healing force for you personally ! Fantastic job. Keep the great work up ! Take care, Peace out, Mr. Flipper

I'm of the school of " I don't know " and I'll probably be an agnostic the rest of my life. It's really not that big of a deal to me. If " he " or " she " is up there as a " God " I can't do anything about it. If " he " or " she " doesn't exist - I can't change that either.
I look at life as one big , long adventure. As I get older I try to set more good deeds on the " credit " side of the ledger - not for any fictitious award from a sky daddy, but because it makes for better relations with my fellowmen and women. Love, peace, empathy, understanding, and compassion is what this world needs more of . At the end of one's life all one can hope is they've enjoyed and promoted happiness inside themselves and others. The whole fretting over the " God " thing to me is an utter waste of time. Kind of how I roll

How do they get away with "New Light"?
by moreconfusedthanever inone thing that bothers me greatly is the fact that they can change their policies and beliefs and just say its "new light" and no one bats an eyelid.. there are many scriptures such as isaiah 40:8 "the word of god will last to time indefinite.
" or hebrews 6:18 "it is impossible for god to lie".
if he is "spirit directing" the borg then there should be no need for new light..

How do they get away with " new Light " ? It's called mind control. Individual JW's brains have been shrunk into pickled and shriveled WT Society indoctrination storehouses. They are trained never to question WT Society doctrine. WT is always right- in their mind. If they even begin to have doubts about WT being right- they are told that Satan is causing them to doubt or they are evil for doubting. Think " Stockholm Syndrome " and you'll understand why JW's don't question " new light "
