My Opinions on whats going on in WT land - Insider Information

first off, i'd like to state that i currently have "privileges" in the congregation and volunteer at bethel on and off throughout the year.

that's as much information as i will currently give about myself.. starting off, i think something big is coming in the form of lawsuits and bad pr.

they seem to be batting down the hatches in preparation for something the last few years and even more so the last few months.

Questions for you- Do you think the WT Society is in bad enough shape that they'll have to file some form of bankruptcy in the next two years ? And if they declare bankruptcy wouldn't that just infuriate many of the JW's who have given personal loans to the WT Society because of course - these folks would not be able to get any returns on their money due to possible bankruptcies ?

It's been my personal opinion for several years now since being out of the organization myself since 2003 - that we are dealing with a criminal organization at the top- an organization that is bilking millions of $$$$ from these congregations and causing individual JW's to "sit down, shut up - and eat the spiritual dishes fed to them " all the while deceiving JW's about where any of this money donated actually goes.

I can't help but think of Jim Bakker from the 1980's and how he bilked millions out of his flock , got caught with his pants down literally ( although he with grown women, WT Society has a huge child abuse epidemic ) and he even served prison time as well. However I've noticed recently he re-formed some other church in which he's probably doing the same shit to the people there now.

So do you think if some financial fall happened with the WT Society that they would re-form into some other group after paying the piper ( or the law ) and continue trying to fleece some other flock down the road ? It's all really intriguing to me and I think there are possibly several ways this thing might go- none of them good for anybody concerned - but I'm interested in your thoughts. Sorry for my length and I'll take your answers off the air. LOL

Brooklyn Layoffs and Halt to Kingdom Hall construction projects

a good source just just told me that at morning worship today that the governing body announced that a total of 1600 bethelites will be let get go and not transferred to warwich when the last property is sold in brooklyn and all kingdom hall building projects are on hold for at least a year so that all the focus will be on the preaching work.

after reading this newly leaked letter, something profoundly "hit" me.

myself, being born a "witness", and most of us here, who have learned their teachings for years, know of the "importance" the gb/wts always placed on the watchtower and awake magazines, themselves.. from the magazines inception, from back in probably the 1920's, or somewhere that far back, the wts claimed that the preaching work, and specifically the distribution of these magazines, were a sign of the times, and a fulfilment of bible prophecy in these last days.

they would compare the watchtower magazine to a "stinging scorpion", claiming those magazines fulfilled that verse in revelation.

DUNEDAIN- Great thread. Exactly, great points made. WT Society leaders have always bragged about how the work is " speeding up " as the end gets closer so indeed - WHY would they go to printing the WT magazine to every other month if the message is that urgent ? Bottom line : WT leaders don't believe their own bullshit. They know that they've been yanking our chain all along. It's been a massive deception right from the start going back to the days of C.T. Russell. And the deception is still going on strong 136 years later in 2015

Exactly. Hit the nail on the head. 1600 Bethelites get laid off for what reason ? Must be more child abuse lawsuits coming down the turnpike up ahead. Or other unexpected " hidden from the flock " expenses. WT Society is expecting to get the financial shaft blown up their rear ends so hey " we have to cut costs somewhere. " So the message is , " You 1,600 worker bees just go back to your hometowns and go out in service and even if you don't understand this decision of the GB from a " human " standpoint and it makes no sense whatsoever - please be assured of our warm Christian love in caring for Kingdom interests ! If you ever need friends to chat with please feel free to PM me or my wife and we'd like to keep in touch. Dealing with fanatic JW relatives is a bitch for sure- I find more peace in my life when a lot of time goes by in between communication with my JW relatives. Hang in there, keep your chin up. Very well written article. WT leaders lie like dogs. And they train elders to lie like dogs. As John Lennon once stated, " Instant Karma's gonna get you, gonna knock you off your feet. " I personally hope Instant Karma in a negative way knocks WT officials on their ass. That's what they really need. That- and to be thrown into prison for crimes against humanity

Oh yeah ! One more thing I forgot. In my mid 20's a hard ass elder , a older former circuit overseer had selected me to do a part on the assembly about pioneering and I had just started growing a moustache then- about 1984. So this ex-C.O. tells me, " I want to use you for this part but you need to shave your moustache as it does not look good, it looks dirty because it's new. " So dumb me- I shaved it for the part. That's when I gave a damn what they thought. As I entered my late 20's pushing 30 - I cared less and less

I was told I could NOT wear white socks to the meeting- or I'd be disqualified from carrying microphones .

Also I was told by a P.O. elder that if my methamphetamine addicted (then wife ) didn't want my JW teenage daughters to come visit at our house- then I should visit my daughters at a park at a neutral location to accommodate my then druggie wife. Nice shepherds, eh ? Incredible

i think possibly their are a few valid reasons for either options to this question ,depending on a number of factors .. such as how old you might be, how long you have devoted your life to the "truth" as you believed it .

?....how it may affect your mental/physical health and well being.?.

SMIDDY- Great thread topic. Well - I'm almost 56 years old and exited the JW organization 12 years ago in 2003. I was born into the JW organization as my parents were in the cult 8 years before I was born. So like my 30 year old son who exited about 13 years ago at 17- I had to make my own decision to bolt from the organization at age 44.

I'm VERY glad I discovered TTATT because I cannot live a lie. I will not tolerate or support a criminal organization that throws it's children and other members under the bus unjustly . My life has been much happier outside of the JW organization pursuing my business, living life with a wonderful companion, my wife, enjoying the pursuit of playing music, writing songs , and having more freedom to pursue these interests and the TIME to do it as well.

Being self employed now for 32 years - I've always been pretty independent and self sufficient. I don't depend on JW relatives for anything and although I may get an inheritance from my JW dad and mom- it wouldn't surprise me in the least if they ( my older JW dad and brother ) tried to shaft me out of a good portion of that inheritance. Time will tell. I'm not going to lose sleep over it or sacrifice my freedom of mind to capitulate to the WT Society's wishes or negotiate my freedom with my older JW family.

As regards family relationships - I have a great relationship with my older JW mom and my nieces and nephews ( about 4 of them ) - children of my older JW siblings - whom I have a really great relationship with . I'm proud of the younger generation coming up behind me as more of my family in THAT age group ( 25 to 40 are exiting the cult. When the " old guard " dies off in my parents generation and my older JW siblings in their late 60's - the younger generation of non-JW's will then be in the majority and I'm sure I'll see a change in the wind in thawing out of family relationships once the cult members die. I have positive hope for the future. Perhaps one day my two adult JW daughters aged 28 and 27 will exit the Witnesses as well. I'll be here for them if and when they do
