The leaders of this organization get stranger and stranger with terminally weird subject matter in their WT articles. So true that the WT lunatics are running the asylum, because the WT lunatics ARE the asylum. Peace out, Mr. Flipper

A very dangerous thing happen to us two weeks ago. It could have meant our life.
by Still Totally ADD intwo weeks ago mrs. add and myself was driving home from shopping on a side street when we came upon a man laying on his back with his arms spread out in a t formation.
with no one in site we pulled over our van to help this person.
mrs.add went for her phone to call 911 and i got out of the van to see what i could do.

STILL TOTALLY ADD- I'm really glad to hear that you both are alright and didn't get hurt. As much as many of us like to be helpful and be " good Samaritans " so to speak- I'm in total agreement with Morpheus on this that we have to be very cautious, use our intuition, and really be wary and have eyes in the back of our heads keeping our head on a swivel if we assist people on the side of the road nowadays. As Morph mentioned, there are a lot of users and takers out in society these days and we have to use extra caution if we hope to escape with our skin intact. I'm so glad you guys were lucky.
Keep being helpful to people who really need it- but be wary of walking into life threatening situations my friend. Peace & hugs to you both, Mr. Flipper

GABCOL- Welcome to the board my friend. As you stated you're not alone, many of us here have suffered abuse at the hands of people we once considered friends in our lives, JW's we thought we could trust. But in time we truly see they never had our best interests at heart. It was a conditional, fake " interest " . I'm glad life is going well for you now, look forward to hearing more about your experiences. Congratulations on finding and holding onto your freedom of mind. It's priceless ! Peace out, Mr. Flipper

Healing & Rebuilding Your Life - Feedback Wanted
by jp1692 ini have been invited to speak at an international cultic studies association workshop this fall.
i could use your help in focusing on my presentation subject.. these workshops are for former members of any cult or other high-control, authoritarian group, not just jehovah's witnesses.
last year, i spoke at one of their larger conferences in europe.

XANTHIPPE- Yeah, no worries, you're just sharing your experience. You're not being arrogant, just honest. I believe it took me awhile longer to lose the JW cult terminology because even though I stopped attending meetings, for a time I was still around extended JW family that were still inside the cult- and fanatics at that in using the JW language. So though I didn't hear these expressions and terms used at meetings- I still occasionally had to hear my older mom & dad use these expressions when I'd visit them, or my older siblings would use these words, or even my adult JW daughters. So even though I stopped attending meetings in 2003 - I still had to put up with hearing my extended JW family use this loaded language. Perhaps that clears it up a bit for you. LOL. Take care, Peace out, Mr. Flipper
I might add, I'm glad none of that language is in my head now. I'm glad it's out of my brain neurotransmitters. But I read a lot and have worked hard to put other good stuff in my mind !

How do you deal with the smoke?
by compound complex ini hope you're not dealing with wildfires in your area.
currently, california is under siege.
we, in the sierra nevada foothills, had our major conflagration last october and needed to evacuate.

SHIRLEY- Hey thanks my dear friend, I appreciate your kind concern. Yeah, the bad fires have been further North, West, and South of where we live and so many people in those areas have suffered terribly. 6 deaths alone in the Redding, California Carr fire with about 1,000 buildings or homes lost. 2 deaths in the Yosemite fire. Hundreds of thousands of burned acres. The Carr fire alone has burned over 150 square miles. Freaking awful. Anybody driving the 3 hour drive on Hwy. 299 from Redding through the mountains to the coastal town of Eureka on the Pacific ocean - will now be seeing at least an hours worth of scalded and burnt out land from Redding to Weaverville now. Just makes you sick. Peace out, Mr. Flipper

What PALE EMPEROR said is SO important -
this > " The loaded language is still there, and until it's removed they'll still have some sort of psychological/emotional connection to the cult. "
This is SO true. Until a person starts gradually weeding out the cult catch phrases out of their everyday speech - words like " the truth " , " the friends " , " brothers & sisters " , " my P.O. " or " my elders said " ( should be " the elders said " ) - as Pale stated a person keeps identifying themselves in a common fashion with the Jehovah's Witnesses as if they never left the cult , but mentally are still a part of it.
To be fair it DOES take awhile to lose these loaded JW cult catch phrases and expressions- however- that process can be sped up by replacing these words with other words through research and educating oneself on the Internet which in turn replaces these catch phrases within our brain neurotransmitters where in time our first inclination is to use other words and not JW catch phrases anymore. It takes awhile , but it's worth it- as in time a person will find that words like " the truth " don't automatically pop up into your head anymore. It took me about 12 years or so to get to that point, I've been out 15 years, so yes indeed, it's a process. Peace out, Mr. Flipper

Hey CoCo- The smoke out where Mrs. Flipper and me are at has subsided substantially this morning. Yesterday it was so smoky it was ridiculous. Reason for that was all the small spot fires that started up- a couple way down south in El Dorado County , also a couple small ones here. I even heard there was a 1,500 acre fire in the valley . And that's on top of the huge fires in 3 different spots in Northern California further north at 120,000 acres & 95, 000 acres. That's a hell of a lot of particulates being put into the air in California. And I'm not even including the Yosemite fire at what ? 60,000 acres ? No wonder it's so smoky ! Ick.
I chatted with some dear friends of mine this weekend who came close to eating their lunch and losing their house, but they were fortunate some hot shot fire crews living in their neighborhood dug trenches on their own around the perimeter of the whole neighborhood and saved everybody . So it shows what civil, decent people can do for one another in the face of adversity ! Take care buddy, stay safe ! And tell all your neighbors to put out their cigarette butts ! I'm doing that out here as we have some backwoods mountain folks who don't think twice about flicking cigarette butts out their car windows into grass on the sides of roads. All it takes is one still lit cigarette and boom ! We could have a 40,000 acre fire in 1 day. It is THAT dry out here in California. Hang in there CoCo, stay safe. Peace out, Mr. Flipper
