MORPHEUS- Your assertions are completely false too, since you want to play the " I'm totally right, you're totally wrong game " . Your " all or nothing " reasoning - or - " black & white " reasoning is not the way the real world works. Some of what you stated was correct, some incorrect . You took a little of what I said about " poor and underprivileged " and blew it into an exaggerated version of what I stated.

You totally ignored THIS part of my post which stated , " It's the sickness in society where youths abandoned by non existent support systems fall through the cracks in this world and take their anger out in violent ways . " That is a FACT.

The mental health system is depleted , especially since many mental health facilities have been closed down , so families are left to deal with situations by themselves by housing either young mentally unstable teenagers or adult kids in their 20's or 30's and trying to assist monitoring their meds. Even older adults like the Vegas shooter was off his nut and roaming around in society waiting to explode like a time bomb. Very true, MANY thousands of people are walking around like ticking time bombs , various ages, various social statuses- I get that- but even middle classed Americans are seeing that their finances and money do not go as far as they did before.

We see people's stress levels of suffering injustices pushing them over the edge. And we see these mentally unstable people arming themselves to the tooth to get even with what they perceive ( incorrectly I might add ) that in desperation they see no hope ; so their mental state is so unbalanced and skewed that they try to take out innocent bystanders with them.

It's wrong, yes it's sick, it's unethical, and criminal these actions they take - but it's just a symptom of deeper problems within our society of how people deal with oppression. To say that many folks only get to this state of mental imbalance all on their own , only within their own minds - is ridiculous denial that outside influences and life experiences with others can accelerate their pain. It's black & white thinking to reason that way- dare I say " cult " type thinking. O.K. Thanks for listening, I think

BLOWNAWAY- The left does NOT want a total gun ban. They want responsible gun control laws that make it mandatory to have background checks on unstable mentally sick people who have medical records indicating & documenting their condition. And then restrict such persons from purchasing guns on the legal market. I know, I know - some will buy them illegally off the black market, but at least it would be a start.

Arming teachers is insane. Better to have 2 to 3 trained law enforcement officers at each school than arming teachers. Teachers are there to teach kids, not shoot and defend kids. THAT is the state & federal governments responsibility to work in cooperation with local officials in towns & cities to MAKE that happen. Would the federal government pay teachers more to defend kids on top of teaching them ? Doubtful.

Hey- here's a thought- Why doesn't congress pour some of those billions of $$$$ into providing armed protection for American school children - than say trying to get into a pissing match with every Tom, Dick, and Harry foreign power that doesn't fit into this particular president's game plan ?

Of course we have responsibility to protect our children. But so does the federal government by not allowing the NRA to financially hold Republican congressmen in a stranglehold where they are unwilling or impotent to do the ethical, correct, and moral thing- like protect children ? It's not the media. It's because of the inequality and frustration in society between the haves and the have nots . It's the sickness in society where youths abandoned by non existent support systems fall through the cracks in this world and take their anger out in violent ways. If you look at history in many societies, unfortunately history will teach most people absolutely nothing - and throughout history it has taught us that the oppressors eventually defeat the downtrodden, then it goes " rinse & repeat " until somebody else in power defeats and unseats those oppressors and on and on.

The craziest and most borderline personality types who are unstable - since they get hopeless and can';t take it out on their oppressors - therefore then take it out on innocent people or each other who they come into contact with as they feel hopeless in their lives. Very sad. I'm not saying it's right that it happens- it's awful that it happens , however people feel lost in a lost world like this Moody Blues song states and they act out their anger in disgustingly violent ways.

the star has a previous first-look production deal with the network to produce unscripted series following the success of her emmy-winning show “leah remini: scientology and the aftermath.” according to the hollywood reporter, remini will produce a special for the network during the break following season 3 of the acclaimed docuseries.. it notes that jehovah’s witnesses, while based on biblical teachings, have come under fire over the years for similar practices to the church remini left years ago.

for example, practices of ousting or shunning members who have dissenting views, a blanket refusal to participate in politics and government as well as not celebrating christmas or birthdays are all things that the special will reportedly cover.

additionally, the religion has predicted the literal end of the world several times, obviously to no avail.. .

If it wasn't for that teacher Mr. Seaman tackling the young shooter and knocking the gun out of his hand, this would have been another massacre with perhaps 10 to 20 kids dead. As it was only one girl is in critical, but stable condition and the teacher got hurt, but will be fine. The teacher is a hero for sure.

When are the leaders of this country going to learn ? It's sad, but we have to protect our young people more than the government - No.1 Because we as teachers & parents care more personally for these kids, and No. 2 because the government really doesn't give a damn

years ago at the kh my aunt attended, there was an elder from a prominent jw family who was accused of sexual conduct with several young men in the hall.

he was an unmarried guy in his 30's who wore a terrible hair piece/toupee.

his sister once told me he was waiting for the new system to marry so he could have a perfect wife--isn't that funny?.

It's so sad that this young suicide victim's story can be repeated thousands of times within this criminal organization's WT Society history. I've personally known of several young people who committed suicide due to unjust treatment from elders due to child abuse, shunning, or other situations. It's high time for the WT leaders to be held accountable for their deplorable actions. One reason it's a good thing many shows are coming on exposing Jehovah's Witnesses practices right now. It's about time this nationwide or worldwide media onslaught happens. The media has allowed religions like Jehovah's Witnesses to literally get away with murder for years. But with Lea Remini's Scientology series exposing that religion and now her show will focus somewhat on the JW religion- perhaps the skeleton's will start falling out of many high control religion's closets. It's high time to pay the piper and for the chickens to come home to roost. Bring it on

Receiving so much hate recently....

well, as you all know, my wife (unstuck) and i are not df or da.. we just stopped attending several years back after my "apostate" online activity was found by a nosey employee of ours while she was working in our office (long story if anyone wants to know - it would have to be another thread).

we never met with any elders - no congregation judicial activity occurred (as we would never consent to do so anyway).

so our policy has been to be the same kind, loving, normal people we have always been.

STUCKINARUT- You & your wife are handling this well. It's a tough situation no matter how you slice it - many of us are experiencing this shunning as well from JW family and there's no telling what's been said about me these last 15 years since I've been out of the JW cult. I feel for you both. But you just never know. One or more of our JW relatives may flip someday and escape the mind control and evil treatment by the WT Society- then like you & your wife are doing as many of us do- we will be there to assist exiting JW family when and if they escape to freedom. It's a good attitude to have as I know personally how lonely it was when I exited. Only my mom and my adult son out of all my family supported my decision. It's good to have support and it looks like you guys would do that if any JW relatives left. Keep up the good work, Peace out, Mr. Flipper
