SOUR GRAPES- Very good points you make. It's a criminal organization protecting criminals and pedophiles who are running around from congregation to congregation from city to city and from state to state as to avoid detection. Including men who served as elders in positions of authority. The delay on gathering DNA evidence is unforgiveable in not reporting these crimes to police. WT Society is a very self serving organization that couldn't care less about the safety and welfare of children. This organization needs to be brought down from the top downward. Starting AT the top

Two big points that need to be emphasized in JDub pedophile discussions
by Sour Grapes ini love watching the jw cart crashers on youtube and how the zombie, brain dead, we are so much better than you jdubs react.
when they do talk a little about the two witness rule they will mention the need for proof and the testimony of the poor child is just not enough to take the inquiry any further.. the reason for calling the police is immediately is that dna can be gathered from the poor victim.
this evidence is the second witness used for prosecution.

Craziest Speculations You’ve heard about the end and paradise
by Addison0998 inwe’ve all heard them all our life.
my two biggest stupidest ones i think are, “ we can really tell the end is almost here with the way people drive on the highway.” and a girl who said she wants to hurry up and marry her boyfriend because she’s scared if the end comes before their married, she’ll have to wait 1000 years to marry him.
oh and also a poor old lady saying that she hopes jehovah wipes away the memory of her disfellowshipped sons that he will have to destroy.

When my older JW father was still alive if a hurricane or other bad weather conditions were on the news on T.V. he'd say to me " you know what that means don't you ? " and I'd say " yeah, we're having bad weather " - and he'd say " No, it means we're getting really close to the end, close to Armageddon ! "
I'd just look away and roll my eyes so he wouldn't see my expression. I would just think to myself " oh brother, here we go again " - without saying anything to offend him. He actually said these things for over 60 years being in the JW cult. Then his end came last summer at almost age 92 and guess what ? The weather was perfectly sunny when he died. I just felt sorry for him that he was so fearful and superstitious all of his adult life. Ignorance was , and remains bliss to many of these people

Rejoice cos God's tent is.... Disintegrated by a cat 5 truth storm
by Normalfulla injust had to share... a former friend of my wife's, has just left our house, unbeknown to us, her and her husband have been inactive for about a year and a half, they have pre teen boys too.
she reached out to my wife as she had heard that we were apostates etc and needed someone to talk to.. .
after her father dying she was in a bad place mentally and emotionally and reached out to her cong for support, apon receiving 0 she turned to the bible for comfort only in her raw emotional state to realize that jehovah was a murderous unfair god and then her wheels of rational reasoning started turning.. she questioned things and was outspoken about things and attracted elder attention... long story short she wanted to connect with a friendly ear and she splurged she's never going back, the bible is all bulls**t and it's a cult, despite not knowing most of ttatt we all shared experiences and watched her eyes boggle at (stuckinarut... the first euphoric high) the un scandal, beth sarim, ray franz, 607, arc.

Withdrawing community support in the congs
by purrpurr ini've noticed in the past 10 years that the social support that used to be available in the congs, a shoulder to cry on, elders to help with family/marriage issues these seem to have been purposely withdrawn.
counsel is even heard from the platform that the elders are not there to help people with their problems.. so first in the 80s-90s they take away the congregation get to getters and social events and now they seem to be going one step further in taking away the emotional support for people too.. this will take away an aspect that i'm sure was keeping alot of people in the borg, the community support.
if that's not there and its just about meetings and ministry how many will start to get their emotional support elsewhere?.

Good thread. I saw this happening years and years before I exited the cult finally in 2003. When I was younger in the late 1970's or early 1980's we used to have some kick ass group baseball games as JW's where I used to live- even rented baseball fields at night time playing hardball, etc. It brought husbands & wives and teenagers together having good, friendly competition & fun.
But as soon as Ray Franz was kicked out of Bethel - WT Society started up all these talks at assemblies about how large groups and social gatherings ( 40 or more ) were " dangerous " to have and that the person who got these groups together would be " responsible " if a brother or sister got drunk or flirtatious or as they called it " if the parties got out of hand " . Essentially it was just the WT cult leaders getting all paranoid about not being able to control rank & file JW's due to all the personal Bible studying that was happening in Bethel at the time- so they made all these rules for the other millions of JW's - " no more large gatherings " ! Ridiculous. Typical cult leaders having ultimate control.
As for no personal interest in us - I experienced that as well. Or should I say - I got lambasted from elders and judged unjustly when I did have personal issues in my own JW family back then. The " interest " they took in me wasn't really authentic interest- it was more like a kangaroo court where the elders decided that they knew all the facts accurately about my life ( which they did not, or more accurately refused to accept the facts in my case ) and then proceeded to harass me with phone calls and judgmental bullying to get me to " return to " Jehovah " , er- meetings " .
Very stressful and very insulting behavior on the elders part towards me. So when they finally " withdrew " what they called " community support " - it was a welcome relief as they were overstepping my personal boundaries in the first place. The silence was finally golden. lol. They saw they couldn't " flip " MR. Flipper - so they left me alone at last

Grace Gough ( RIP ) left the JW cult in her 70s and went on to help 1000s to escape the cult
by Not_Culty inhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yj7ilnoxvu4.

Grace was a beautiful woman inside & out. I had the privilege of chatting on the phone with her and I always respected and admired her dignity, class, and love for humanity and people exiting the WT and JW cult. She died the same year my own mom died, and I believe I saw lots of similarities with her personality that was in my own mom. One reason I was drawn to her. Rest in peace Grace, we still love you & miss you

Do you miss that initial "high" ??
by stuckinarut2 indo you remember the first time you found out "the truth about the truth"?.
yes, it was confronting, shocking and life altering.
yes it was hard to deal with.. but, along with that, many have said that they experienced a sense of thrill, euphoria, or joy when realising the facts about the religion that held us captive mentally and physically for so long.. it was liberating to learn some of the controversial teachings etc.

OTWO- Oh yeah, I totally agree with what you're saying ! I felt a HUGE sense of justification, it was actually a confirmation of my doubts about the WT Society I had for years before. And that justification in knowing I was right about the wrongs and injustices gradually for me led to the everyday high I feel of being freed from superstitious WT beliefs that just hindered me for years from pursuing other interests that were better for my life, improved standard of living through employment, playing music, better relationships with true friends and romantic partners. Everything improved for me in time. Peace out, Mr. Flipper

Do any of the 144,000 in heaven take part in the destruction at Armageddon?
by Bonnie_Clyde ini wondered about that when i heard garret loesch state that shortly before the tribulation the governing body would be taken up.
.
if this is the case, it seems like garret and the other seven would be there just in time to help out in the killing of billions.. i thought they used to say that some would survive armageddon before they were taken up..

" Do any of the 144,000 in heaven take part in the destruction of Armageddon ? "
First off - there is no such thing as the " 144,000 " in heaven.
And secondly there is no such thing as " Armageddon " .
Hope that clears things up for you

STUCK- I didn't exactly feel a high initially, however with time the " high " that I felt turned into happiness & joy when I figured out I wasn't being controlled anymore by the WT Society or the JW religion. I enjoyed and continue to enjoy my freedom of mind in making my own decisions and running my own life - instead of WT Society running my life. That continues to be a good high or liberating feeling ! Not getting up in the morning on weekends is great ! Not having to pound on strangers doors needlessly, or not having to attend mind numbing meetings which cause blisters on the brain.
I still feel anger & resentment sometimes , but the everyday joy I feel these last 15 years being away from the mind control of the WT Society is a constantly great feeling for me anyway ! Peace out, Mr. Flipper

" I sometimes wonder what the world would be like if " Religion " had never reared it's head ? "
The world would be a hell of a lot better. But not totally. Religion is used by men and/or women ( mostly men ) to seek total control over the masses of mankind and they do that by manipulating these masses of people through use of fear & guilt by influencing people to believe that the Bible is a book by " God " or " Jehovah " .
They use the Bible as a weapon actually to beat people over the head influencing their thinking in order to make masses of mankind fearful to live their life out from under the control of powerful Pope's, ministers, clergy, and Pastors of churches. And these men who become " leaders " find it convenient to abuse their power & control over humanity because it stuffs their pockets full of gold and money ! But even if organized religion had not appeared , there have still been powerful and corrupt men & governments who use any means to control people. Still would have happened even without religion. Religion's just one of the many tools sociopathic humans use to control each other.
Basically in a nutshell- THAT is all organized religion is - a way for powerful, unscrupulous men to control humanity while making a living off of exploiting that fear & control. O.K. I'm done
