" Do any of the 144,000 in heaven take part in the destruction of Armageddon ? "
First off - there is no such thing as the " 144,000 " in heaven.
And secondly there is no such thing as " Armageddon " .
Hope that clears things up for you
i wondered about that when i heard garret loesch state that shortly before the tribulation the governing body would be taken up.
.
if this is the case, it seems like garret and the other seven would be there just in time to help out in the killing of billions.. i thought they used to say that some would survive armageddon before they were taken up..

do you remember the first time you found out "the truth about the truth"?.
yes, it was confronting, shocking and life altering.
yes it was hard to deal with.. but, along with that, many have said that they experienced a sense of thrill, euphoria, or joy when realising the facts about the religion that held us captive mentally and physically for so long.. it was liberating to learn some of the controversial teachings etc.
STUCK- I didn't exactly feel a high initially, however with time the " high " that I felt turned into happiness & joy when I figured out I wasn't being controlled anymore by the WT Society or the JW religion. I enjoyed and continue to enjoy my freedom of mind in making my own decisions and running my own life - instead of WT Society running my life. That continues to be a good high or liberating feeling ! Not getting up in the morning on weekends is great ! Not having to pound on strangers doors needlessly, or not having to attend mind numbing meetings which cause blisters on the brain.
I still feel anger & resentment sometimes , but the everyday joy I feel these last 15 years being away from the mind control of the WT Society is a constantly great feeling for me anyway ! Peace out, Mr. Flipper
can you imagine what the world of mankind would be like if their was never any concept of a god or religious beliefs ?.
for the love of me i can`t ,maybe i don`t have an imaginative mind equipped well enough to do so .. how about you guys ?
any takers ?.
" I sometimes wonder what the world would be like if " Religion " had never reared it's head ? "
The world would be a hell of a lot better. But not totally. Religion is used by men and/or women ( mostly men ) to seek total control over the masses of mankind and they do that by manipulating these masses of people through use of fear & guilt by influencing people to believe that the Bible is a book by " God " or " Jehovah " .
They use the Bible as a weapon actually to beat people over the head influencing their thinking in order to make masses of mankind fearful to live their life out from under the control of powerful Pope's, ministers, clergy, and Pastors of churches. And these men who become " leaders " find it convenient to abuse their power & control over humanity because it stuffs their pockets full of gold and money ! But even if organized religion had not appeared , there have still been powerful and corrupt men & governments who use any means to control people. Still would have happened even without religion. Religion's just one of the many tools sociopathic humans use to control each other.
Basically in a nutshell- THAT is all organized religion is - a way for powerful, unscrupulous men to control humanity while making a living off of exploiting that fear & control. O.K. I'm done
... and this time it was mine.. mrs. eden decided to part ways and leave home, and so our 25 year long partnership is now dissolving.
.
just another colateral damage in a long list of colateral damages from being raised in the "truth".
EDEN- I'm so very sorry that you and your wife are both experiencing a divorce. I'm on my 3rd marriage these last 12 years and been divorced twice before- and it's never easy - ever. The bi-polar factor is a big one that can make the mate that doesn't have that condition feel like they're on a roller coaster as well experiencing all the ups and downs peaks and valleys that come with that disorder. My short , brief year and a half 2nd marriage over 15 years ago was to a lady who had bi-polar disorder. One day you feel like you're a superman stud from heaven in their eyes, the next day they consider you the bastard from hell. My ex # 2 also had a methamphetamine addiction to boot.
Hey man, if you ever need a friend or want to talk I'll PM you my personal E-mail info and contact info. I'm sorry man, it's rough now- but this too shall pass. You will live to love another day or year in your future . Take care of yourself, hang in there, and lots of love & hugs from me and Mrs. Flipper to you. Check your PMs here soon. Peace to you. Flipper

ALEX- Dude, seriously, don't sweat it. The organization is angry at ANYONE who leaves the WT . Consider it a badge of honor

"
Give me a freaking break. What about the JW INDIVIDUALS right to religious freedom & practice ? How in the hell does deleting information a JW doesn't want on the WT Society's database " infringe " on WT Society's " right to religious freedom & practice "? . What bullshit. All it infringes on is the WT Society's ability to exercise ultimate control over each and every JW who doesn't want to be on the database !
I swear to god man, after reading the WT quotes in the opening post about the " organization's needs being more important than the individual's needs " ? I swear- Ted Jaracz has been secretly brought back from the dead and is sitting in on GB meetings these days. Those were his exact words 37 or 38 years ago. This organization is going from bad to worse quickly. No wonder our JW relatives won't leave this dangerous cult ! If they are watching every move they make and can't even have peace when they take a shit in the restroom thinking little camera's are watching them- Jesus H. Christ.
It's George Orwell's 1984 again in a VERY real way. Sick & dangerous
i am just 17. many of you here are much older than me.. i do feel that offering advice here is like teaching my father how to fuck.
but seriously, i do see the problem here.
we are focusing more on the problem than the solution.. i have been reading mind power books for quite some time.
SINBOI- You are welcome my friend. You made a VERY good opening thread, no need to apologize for the words you wrote. You write very well expressed thoughts. Freedom of speech is a good thing and you do it well. You have some really great advice ! It doesn't matter that you are young- you are intelligent and have some great ideas. Keep on expressing them. I don't think you offended anybody here at all.
You know- all of us as EX-JWs , no matter what our age are all on a learning curve after we exit the JW organization. We are all learning together here in how to proceed on with our life after being told what to think for so many years as JW's. We were never told how difficult it could be to make our own decisions after exiting a high control, mind control organization. So hey my friend, don't sweat it- we are all learning together and on our own in how to best move on in life. It's an ongoing process that we will be refining our entire lives most probably. Take care, Peace out, Mr. Flipper

SINBOI- Very great points that you make. Some of us " older ones " as you mentioned lol ( I'm 58 yrs.old by the way ) who exited the cult many years ago ( 15 years in my case ) HAVE done many of the things you've recommended in your opening thread.
Many of us did show love to our JW parents after we left. They did see that we were happier, and we didn't do anything that might be " abhorrent " as you stated in front of them. Many here on the board are doing the things you say to do- and although you're right- it DOES help to some extent , still our JW relatives are under the influence of WT cult mind control where the power of WT influence is sometimes stronger on them than just our good example.
I've got 3 older siblings who are still in the JW cult and they were annoyed at me when I stood up on behalf on my JW mom when she was put into a care facility. I advocated home care so she could stay in her home , they pushed to institutionalize her . My JW mom appreciated my efforts though, but my efforts to make her life easier were overpowered by my other JW family that wanted her in a care facility.
Point I'm making is SINBOI- is that many JW's are actually a hell of a lot meaner and unkind than people out in the real world. They've lost their mental ability to feel true compassion , so if they do not respond to or appreciate our kindness, sometimes we shouldn't be surprised. I've lived this , so I know through experience.
That being said, I still agree that your way you suggest is the best way to be. Because you never know when one of our JW relatives hard heart will start melting and thawing the ice away to become the kind of relative and/or friend that we wanted in the first place. It takes time, cannot be forced, as our JW relatives have to see it themselves personally. But as you say we can set a good example for them and hope that someday it causes them to re-think how they've been trained or duped by the WT Society to hate us. Good thread, thanks for posting ! Peace out, Mr. Flipper
so many of us have had (perhaps well-meaning) jws ask us questions about our inactivity, or lack of attendance at meetings.
they may pry about why..... how is this for a simple, yet straight to the point response?
to a sincere person, it may play on their mind and make them ask more questions.
Yeah I don't use the expression " Bible trained conscience " when I talk to these people, because my conscience is on a much higher plane than someone with a " Bible trained conscience" - my conscience is more ethical and moral

Good thread Stuckinarut
I had an experience way back in 2007 a few years after I exited the JW cult. I was in a store shopping and a JW lady and her adult daughter whom I had not seen in about 12 years confronted me when we saw each other in an aisle.
JW Lady : " Hi Flipper how are you doing ? "
Flipper : " Doing well , how are you both doing ? "
JW Lady : " So when are you coming back to the truth ? "
Flipper : " I AM in the truth ! I'm a very truthful person, honest, and the truth is within me. "
JW Lady : ( With a sarcastic smile on her face ) " You know what I mean . When are you coming back to meetings ? "
Flipper : " Well, I respect that you feel you are doing what you feel is right going to meetings, however - my conscience won't let me attend anymore due to the WT Society's child abuse policies. JW children are being abused and the police are not called and pedophiles are not brought to justice by the police. "
JW Lady : " Flipper, you know that the worldly news tells lies about Jehovah's people all the time, you cannot believe it. "
Flipper : " Well hey, I'm sure the news media doesn't just make this stuff up about Catholics and Mormon child abuse . Why would they print fake stuff up about Jehovah's Witnesses ? "
JW Lady : ( Stammers a bit ) " Well you need to get back to the meetings ! "
Flipper : " I'm doing fine and well as I am , thanks. I appreciate your concern, you both have a great day. "
And with that I walked off leaving them holding their tongues in their mouth.
Peace out, Mr. Flipper
