Another great musician from the old days gone, dead. Very sad. Fats Domino was one of the stalwart musicians of the 1950's and left us many great memories. I had a close buddy of mine who died himself in a car wreck in the early 1980's whose favorite musician was Fats Domino. So whenever I'd hear Fats songs- I'd think of my close friend. Rest in peace Fats, Sincerely, Mr. Flipper

A wave of momentum!
by stuckinarut2 init certainly has to be one of the most exciting times to live in as an awake ex witness!.
the wave of momentum we are part of as thousands awaken from the hold of the society is a joy to be a part of.
the internet helps us to see that we are not alone.

Great points Stuckinarut ! Any of us who have experienced the injustices and shunning from the WT and JW cult have an opportunity ahead of us to expose this criminal organization for what it is - just that a criminal organization. And help open up people's minds as we travel on in life

Listened to this song over and over while picking up firewood yesterday. The beautiful bagpipes at the end of the song always remind me of my mom's Scottish heritage and I start crying my head off missing her when the bagpipes start. But hey, tears of healing right ?

Here we go again. Another WT " spirit appointed " elder molesting a minor once more. Does it ever stop ? No . At least the police received an anonymous tip so they could arrest this abuser. Now we'll watch the scene unfold in the courtroom as a high number of JW's show up claiming " I don't know HOW brother so and so could be guilty of this ! He's an elder !" - while stupidly standing up for his character. Since he's out on bail- let's hope he doesn't skip town. WT Society needs to be brought down big time

Want to bump this up for any lurking JW's who might read this. This truly shows that ' holy spirit ' has nothing to do with these ' elders ' who continue to remain as elders within the JW organization. There are hundreds more like these guys within the JW organization lurking in the weeds

Why is there such a 'high turnover' within the Jehovahs Witnesses?
by UnshackleTheChains ini happened to come across a time article in 2008. it was basically talking about the high turnover in american faiths.
it mentioned the jdubs and highlighted the following point.. an even more extreme example of what might be called "masked churn" is the relatively tiny jehovah's witnesses, with a turnover rate of about two-thirds.
that means that two-thirds of the people who told pew they were raised jehovah's witnesses no longer are — yet the group attracts roughly the same number of converts.

I think one of the many reasons there is a high turnover rate is that the WT Society has to keep re-creating " new light " or indoctrination processes to keep the " old light " from burning out. The longer a JW remains a JW then some of them stay long enough to see the failed " end times " predictions of 1975 and bail out. But then you get new converts who come into the JW cult after the year 2000 who don't know about the WT's failed predictions. And they remain gullible- unless they research the Internet. But some of them won't because they are told not to look at any negative information related to the WT Society. So they remain in the cult with blinders on like a horse. I hope many more will escape in time

How Would You Console A Witness Who Has Lost A Loved One?
by minimus inlet’s say that you haven’t been around a kingdom hall in years and everyone knows you are not a “true believer “ anymore.
yet a tragedy strikes and you want to give a real heartfelt expression of your feelings— what would you say?
would you acknowledge the resurrection hope that the witnesses entertain or say something very different?.

I've experienced this and what I say to JW former friends or JW relatives is that " I'm deeply sorry for your loss and please know that I'm always here if you ever need to talk. " If it's a JW relative I'll say, " I'm so sorry for your loss, I'm always here if you want to talk or come to visit, my door is always open to you. "
I NEVER bring up the " resurrection " hope - because the last thing a JW needs is someone feeding them the delusion that their dead loved one is going to come back again. To do that would be reinforcing their fake, pretend beliefs . Much more honest and helpful to just tell them you are deeply sorry, that you are here to support them in any way and you are there if they ever need or want to talk. It's how I see this anyway- because you are offering viable help that you can deliver on- instead of a " pie in the sky " " airie fairie " promise that you cannot deliver on. These JW's get enough fake promises not delivered by the WT Society as it is- why add to those fake promises ? Peace out, Mr. Flipper

Guys like these need to be locked up for life and the key thrown away, too much of a danger in re-offending and molesting even more children. To have NO conscience whatsoever and keep giving talks at conventions faking his elder role- is disgusting. If I had a dollar for how many of these dimwits I've seen serving as elders who had no right to serve over the years I was in the JW cult- I'd be a millionaire by now. There's more of these guys than people know- and the scary thing there's probably hundreds of these predators still serving worldwide if the truth came out. I researched my hometown on the Megan's Law website to see if I noticed any JW's I used to know when I lived there and I saw 12 JW's I used to know out of the 1,000 registered sex offenders names on that list. One reason to keep making it public how criminal the WT Society policy is regarding child abuse
