Jehovah's people are not happy people

i finally stopped attending the meetings about 4 months go.

i won't be going back - ever.. but i've decided the best reply to the watchtower is to be happy and i do try to be happy every day even thought i wasted my entire life on this religion.

i cherish every day, practice mindfulness and do my best to be content with the life i have.. it is only now that i see that most jws i know are deeply unhappy people.

I agree with Anon's statement, " one reason they are so mean spirited is in part due to their own unhappiness. Seeing other people happy, ....... seems to eat away at them . "

This is SOOO true. What's the old expression ? Misery loves company ? I believe it's not just that the JW cult mind control over them turns them into control freaks themselves - but just seeing US EX-JW's enjoying life absolutely causes them anguish because it makes them question the validity of their beliefs ! They are told that they are " a people for special possession, that Jehovah's people and organization are happy " so if they aren't " happy " then they think they're doing something wrong. Or it causes them to doubt or ponder things within. Then they feel MORE guilty for doing that !

My extended JW family cannot understand how I can be so happy in my own life and I simply tell them I have a lot to be happy for. The love I share with friends & family. It's a concept that's foreign to them because they are taught to NOT open their hearts to any non-JW's

Why Are More JWs Claiming to be Anointed?

most jws i know claim they are happy being in the great crowd.

they'd rather live on a paradise earth and pet lions than go to heaven.. heaven is a place they can't relate to, a place where they don't expect their friends and loved ones to be.. so why are more and more jws claiming to be of the anointed?.

aren't they looked down upon as if they are crazy, proud, ignorant, or engaging in apostate thinking?.

Some Good News About Me (Although Anthony Morris Will Be Furious)

just wanted to share with you some good news i'm really excited about.

i have been accepted for university to study psychology and counseling.

my goal is to become a counselor and, in time, to specialize on treating those who have left high control relationships/groups like we all did.. it'll take a few years before im qualified but studying in university has been a dream of mine since i was 12, which was systematically dashed to pieces by watchtower.. .

Why Are More JWs Claiming to be Anointed?

most jws i know claim they are happy being in the great crowd.

I believe the reason more JW's are partaking ( the number goes up about 1,000 each year the last 10-12 years or so ) so now what is there ? About 16,000 worldwide ?

The real reason is the WT Society about 10 - 12 years ago changed their teaching which once was that the door had been closed to more anointed being collected by 1935 . They used to teach the number had been sealed, " finished " , " done " by then . They opened it back up in about 2005 or so when they started getting younger and younger GB members who would need to be considered " anointed " in order to be GB members. So it was a convenient way to claim they had " new light " that God Jehober had opened up to receiving more anointed- when in reality it was " new light " for the convenience of getting these younger GB members stamped as " anointed " - so no one would question anything.

But the truth is- as many of you state here- by opening it back up- it invited every Tom, Dick, Harry , and crazy person to claim that THEY too are anointed. But as we know WT Society leaders are very adept at shooting themselves in their own foot. Not much thought goes into this alleged " new light " - other than " how can it benefit the WT GB and WT leaders to keep the organization afloat " . My 2 cents

Can the GB be directed by Holy Spirit and at the same time be not inspired ?

yes god directs our writings but they're not inspired, so gods directions are staggered and overlapping , so the genuine innocent believing jw has a wonderful life of overlapping bullshit.

so next time you meet a jw priest ask them what is the difference between being directed and inspired, then i promise you will hear first hand an example of overlapping bull..

The GB is neither directed by holy spirit or inspired. If they are inspired at all to be anything - it's to be self important assholes

WT Society Creates the Atmosphere which Spawns Child Abuse in Congregations

been thinking about this lately after almost 14 years out of the jw cult myself.

when you think of the language used within the jehovah's witness organization in such a closed society environment in how the wt society promotes almost absolute " trust " in the elders , the governing body, and trust even in the " friends " in the congregation themselves- is it any wonder that unscrupulous child molesters can enter any congregation pretending to be " spiritual " and take advantage of unsuspecting children or the parents ?

think about it : an individual is judged as a " spiritual " person within the jw organization based on what wt functions or duties they are good at performing.
