Last installment of the Scientology series tonight on A & E
by nonjwspouse in10 pm est on arts and entertainment channel.
where leah began with the idea of just a few shows, i think she is now taking this on for "as long as it takes".
she is in that mode of being outraged that what she believed in so long is such a lie she wants to shout it from the rooftops, and get people to notice.

Are baptized Witnesses that are no longer in the "truth", but were NEVER DF'D, now to be shunned and treated like disfellowshipped ones?
by Dunedain ina relative of mine was telling me, that in his, and a few neighboring congregations, there is a little confusion amongst some of the jw's about this "issue".
some families are having a hard time about whether certain relatives will be attending certain family functions, because some family members that are no longer in the "truth", might be invited to these functions.
mind you, these persons were never disfellowshipped.

I can only speak from my own experience as an ex-JW who has been considered " inactive " for about 14 years now. Most of my devout JW extended family still in the cult DO shun me and never call me or have anything to do with me. They will take a " timeout " from that treatment like at funerals for relatives- but after my mom died it's gone back to the " same old, same old " of shunning me again. I think they view being polite at funerals as " necessary family business " - so beyond that they get back to shunning you and treating you like a piece of poop.
So yeah, something's in the wind here and I think Stuckinarut hit it on the head - the GB is paranoid and running scared and the paranoia is seeping down from the highest levels of the WT Society into the rank & file JW's

ARC Analysis Summary of Case Files
by Richard Oliver ini have been doing research on the arc as some people on here have suggested.
i find it interesting on the case file analysis some of the findings.
it looks like queensland and new south wales had the biggest problems with this.

RICHARD- You wrote, " That leaves only 50 offenders since 1950 that were either an elder or an MS when the act occurred " .
Really ? Come on now. That's 50 elders and MS's too many ! Don't you think Richard that if the WT Society had done their due diligence and made it a policy to do mandatory BACKGROUND checks on these prospective elders and MS's - that those 50 elders and MS's would have never had the CHANCE or OPPORUNITY to molest and abuse children ?
WT Society GB and it's leaders are the main people here through their faulty child abuse policies that are responsible for the thousands of cases of criminal child abuse worldwide within the Jehovah's Witness organization. To see it otherwise is absolutely ignoring the facts of the matter

Has the threat of being shunned caused the organization to be unclean
by poopie ini keep hearing stories of rank and file publishers involved in gross wrongdoing but because they fear of the possibility of being shunned they only tell those who will not report them to elders .
and they continue to go out on service and conduct bible studies and stay in good standing with cong even going to many social gatherings..

The WT organization has been " unclean " since it's inception in 1879. LOL. Shunning is just another item on a long laundry list of practices that makes Jehovah's Witness a criminal organization

If "the Truth" is the truth, why are witnesses so scared of research?
by stuckinarut2 init is an often asked question i know, but it perplexes me.. if witnesses are so convinced that they have "the truth", why is the act of researching information from external sources so taboo?
didn't the bible itself tell people to "use their powers of reason" and also praised ones like the boreans for researching things they were told??.
seriously, if there is no doubt about the organization being "god's channel" on earth, and it alone having the "truth", surely researching would only enhance such 'facts'?.

One thing I forgot to add- so these WT tactics are used by FEAR and GUILT being instilled in JW's minds- so that they won't question their beliefs on anything. Forgot to say this, take care, Peace out, Mr. Flipper

Good thread Stuckinarut . I feel that many JW's are afraid of doing research outside the WT organization - because they are TOLD and INSTRUCTED from the WT Society and CONDITIONED to BELIEVE from the WT Society that ANY information outside of the JW organization is dangerous to their " spirituality ". So through this insidious tactic they are mind controlled through " information control " to not even bother researching outside information because " Satan " is allegedly in control of all information not backed by the alleged " faithful slave " or GB. Translation : GB tells them to not even bother researching outside information because that information is backed by the " devil " and is considered all lies anyway by the WT leaders.
Stuckinarut- JW's actually have a psychological disorder called " dissociative disorder" that clogs their brain neurotransmitters to not accept ANY information that is in disagreement with WT Society policies and beliefs. So until a JW's mind gets shaken up to doubt their belief system through injustice or trauma- that brain will CONTINUE to remain stuck in a " neutral " position believing unconditionally every word pouring out of the WT leaders mouth. It's actually not just a psychological condition- but a physiological condition as well. Until something causes a JW to experience cognizant dissonance- their mind stays " stuck " as it were in their belief systems.
Check out any of Steve Hassans books on mind control and he gets into this combination psychological / physiological quandary that a person under cult mind control really goes through. Breaking free of this WT control is really a much more involved process than the public or even ex-JWs themselves really realize. It's a deeply imbedded mental condition that takes years to really get rid of entirely. Hassans website is : www.freedomofmind.com. I know your wife is awakening- that's one reason I kind of went into a deeper explanation of this. Sorry for my rambling. Good luck to you both ! Take care, Peace out, Mr. Flipper

Welcome to the board Phoebe you are among friends who have gone through similar things you have experienced. I was born into the JW religion - I exited at age 44 over 13 years ago. It takes courage to do so but is well worth the effort as freedom of mind is priceless. You will experience shunning from some of your JW family and friends - so be prepared for that. However I have some of my younger nieces and nephews who have escaped the JW cult so I'm close to them. Keep reading and educating yourself on HOW we were mind controlled and you will come to a fuller understanding of how the WT Society deceived and hoodwinked all of us. If you get a chance I highly recommend reading Steve Hassan's books on mind control. Combatting Cult Mind Control & Releasing the Bonds- Empowering People to Think for Themselves are two really great books he wrote. His website is : www.freedomofmind.com.
Those books helped me immensely as well as reading " Crisis of Conscience " . I just want you to know that we are here for you and your husband as a support and if you ever need a hearing ear please feel free to PM me or my wife, O.K. ? Hang in there, take care, Peace out, Mr. Flipper
