Well, I asked a question and his answer blew me away
by Lost his mind infirst time, been lurking for years, but i asked my husband who has been studying for 20 plus years if he has ever questioned those that were "teaching" him.
blew my mind.
i ask him all the questions that you have asked yourself, but he will not ask them.

LOST HIS MIND- Welcome to the board ! May I ask : What is it about your husbands relationship with his sister that makes him feel that she has all the answers to life or that he cannot even question her or her husband ? Do they both have some kind of mesmerizing control over him and they use the JW's to exercise that control ? What's the background of your husband's relationship with his sister ? Just needing a little more info. Thanks, I'm sorry you are in such a challenging position -

Abuse of Power - Today's WT Study, May 10, 2015 (w2015 3/15)
by Oubliette inok, so i only read the wt study articles to keep up with the indoctrination that my two "still-in" children are being subjected to.
when i read this in today's wt i nearly blew a gasket: .
[naboth] held to jehovahs law in the face of horrific abuse of power.

OUBLIETTE- Very good point. I'm with you. Only main abuse of power I've suffered from in my life has been at the hands of the WT Society and their appointed minions as well. WT Society leaders are so narrow minded and arrogant in their views that they would NEVER view themselves as abusing power - they themselves have a " persecution complex " a mile long and they look at the " world " as " persecuting " them - the WT leaders ! I believe they use this pretend " persecution complex " as a marketing tool in mind control to lure rank & file JW's to side with them in a " it's us against the world " syndrome thus blinding JW's to the fact that GB members could ever ABUSE power - they have the view that THEY are abused by the world. It's such a narrow view and misleading indeed.
This abuse of power by WT leaders is one reason I keep banging the drum on the child abuse issue. I tell everybody I can about the WT leaders own abuse of power. What was the old saying, " power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely " ? Peace out, Mr. Flipper

I had sex with my wife but now he’s my brother.
by John Aquila ingolden age 1930 apr 2 p.446.
question: will husband and wife live together after the resurrection is completed, if both are in harmony with god?.
the most that we know is that here will be no children born during the last 100 years of the millinnium (isa.

Richard Ashe Court Deposition - " Let elders handle child abuse- don't talk about it "
by flipper inas some of you know i was given pdf files of much of the conti and lopez child abuse court cases and asked from a friend to peruse through it and post some excerpts on the board here that may have been missed or not addressed in the pbs newshour report or the abc news nightline report.
so after going through this richard ashe testimony i feel i found something quite interesting that exposes the real attitudes of the wt society leaders towards child abuse and the attitudes wt leaders put into it's appointed men's minds as well.
the viewpoint that richard ashe displays is repeated in elders throughout thousands of jw congregations on this planet.

IOWN MYLIFE- Marina- what a really great example you give of the Japanese soldier who would not surrender being compared to JW's that are still deeply indoctrinated. I totally agree. It's just beyond their comprehension that the GB could ever be wrong, could ever be criminal, could ever have ulterior motives for " using " the rank & file JW's like they do. It's almost like JW's have to get knocked in their heads with injustices personally to be able to face reality. And even then- some of them won't admit it.
ZEB- If I'm not mistaken Richard Ashe is on the service committee at Bethel ( I may be wrong ) - but he was testifying in court about how the WT Society handles child abuse cases. WT was pointing to him as an " expert " - but I believe attorney Irwin Zalkin shredded him to pieces.
CHA CHING- Thanks for verifying that , yeah I thought he was in the service department.
ARWEN - You are so very welcome ! Hey man- access to information is everything ! You know ? Peace out, Mr. Flipper

Well if you check out JW.org you can probably find some real studly guys who would do wonders for your " personal study " habits. Guys that are real expressive and kind like Mr. Rogers or guys that will certainly dominate you and keep you in submission as a " weaker vessel ". I mean if you're into that kinky kind of stuff -

Are you religious or are you spiritual? Wake up to what?
by Deltawave inthere is a huge difference between been religious and been spiritual.
been religious is about been superior to others in the sight of god.
however, been spiritual is about self awareness, inner peace and unity with the natural world.

I'm a very spiritual, metaphysical, possibly slightly psychic , intuitive type person who is pretty much against everything about organized religion and all about tuning into the outdoors and nature and the reality of living in the here and now. I am very irreligious. Best way I know to answer your question. Good thread by the way, you make some good points -

Everything seems to be changing... why not birthdays?
by StarTrekAngel inif we look at all doctrines, we see an overall effort to conserve unity and control.
- assuming most birthdays, if allowed, would probably be oriented to children, then that means 40 celebrations per year.
so all in all, this give a total potential attendance to a birthday of 30 families (120 attendance / 4 family members).

The reason the GB won't let JW's celebrate Birthdays - don't ya know - is because it would take away " glory " and attention away from Governing Body members and put the attention on individual rank & file JW's- and the GB just can't have that now can they ? Wink, wink -

MISS BEHAVING- Welcome to the board, Nice to have you here. Although I'm sorry that you've experienced the shunning and ill treatment for only wanting to think for yourself- I'm glad that you cherish your freedom of mind. That's how I felt back in 2003 when I stopped attending at age 44 after being born and raised in a very devout JW family as well. And I was the youngest child of 4 of us kids too. LOL. I'm the only sibling that escaped ! Please know that we are here as a support system for you and many of us here do understand. We've lived it and many still are. But we are survivors of a mind control cult. We have our minds intact and our freedom. What more could we ask for ? Hang in there my friend, it will get better in time. Take care and congratulations on getting a college degree ! You are to be high fived and given kudos ! I'm proud of you
