Attitudes of WT Society Leaders Towards " Rights " of Child Abuse Victims and Elders
by flipper inthese excerpts i'm sharing with you are from the july 1st, 1989 letter from the wt society to the elders and it gives outsiders a good idea of the attitude of the wt society leaders towards child abuse victims and even towards their own appointed elders.
and it shows wt society is first, foremost, and mainly concerned about financial fallout from potential lawsuits.
one short quote was used from this letter on the abc news nightline report about candace conti - but what i'm going to share with you will be other excerpts from that same letter that are just as, or even more revealing.

These excerpts I'm sharing with you are from the July 1st, 1989 letter from the WT Society to the elders and it gives outsiders a good idea of the attitude of the WT Society leaders towards child abuse victims and even towards their own appointed elders.
On pg. 2 of this letter it starts out talking about threats of lawsuits in regards to child abuse it states, " In recent years , this matter has come to be a cause for increasing concern. The spirit of the world has sensitized people regarding their legal " rights " and the legal means by which they can exact punishment if such " rights " are violated. Hence a growing number of vindictive or disgruntled ones , as well as opposers , have initiated lawsuits to inflict financial penalties on the individual, the congregation, or the Society. Many of these lawsuits are the result of the misuse of the tongue. As elders , remember that ill-advised statements or actions on your part can sometimes be interpreted legally as violating others " rights ". "
It continues, " The legal consequences of a breach of confidentiality by elders can be substantial . If the elders fail to follow the Society's direction carefully in handling confidential matters, such mistakes could result in successful litigation by those offended. Substantial monetary damages could be assessed against the elders or the congregation . In some cases where the authorities are involved, certain complications could lead to a fine or imprisonment. These possibilities underscore the need for elders to be discerning and follow carefully directions provided by the Society. "
So- Basically the WT Society is claiming that people who are suing the WT Society are either "disgruntled " , " vindictive ", or " opposers " - making it seem that the VICTIMS who are suing the WT Society are in the wrong. Never will the WT Society admit fault, not even to the elders in confidential letters like this. So the elders are being controlled or manipulated by WT direction to see right out of the gate that if a victim of child molestation is pursuing a lawsuit- the VICTIM is the bad person - NOT the perpetrator. The term the victims " rights " has quotation marks around it indicating a sarcasm as if they are supposed rights, or imagined rights, not really " rights " at all in the WT Society's eyes.
And in the second paragraph it's basically a veiled threat from the WT Society to appointed elders that it's THEIR mouths breaking confidentiality or not keeping quiet about even possible illegal allegations that could get the authorities involved - resulting in fines, lawsuits, or imprisonment of WT officials or elders.
So- Bottom line is the WT leaders take NO RESPONSIBILITY for their OWN actions regarding lawless activity, whether it be child abuse or any other illegal activity. WT leaders have NEVER taken responsibility. It's always the child abuse victims " vindictiveness " or the elders " loose mouths " revealing confidential talk ( translation - exposing child abuse to authorities ) that can get the WT Society into hot water with the law authorities.
It's high time to get the word out that the WT Society plays the " blame ' game and is irresponsible in it's child abuse policies which destroy elders lives and child abuse victims lives. And the elders are just used as puppets to crush the child abuse victims rights and the WT Society comes out smelling like a rose because of using all of these people to cover up where the blame should really go- against WT Society leaders and policy makers.
Spread the word. As always I look forward to your views and comments. Take care, Peace out, Mr. Flipper

Why do people "come back"?
by kairos ini know of several examples of ones that "left the truth" for up to 20 years, only to suffer through the reinstatement process and feel like they are finally back on track.. how does this happen?.
i personally know of one example where a father of three, leaves jws, abandons wife and family, lives as a gay man then comes back 20 years later as a partaking member of the anointed..

UCANTNOME- I'm still trying to understand what motivates you. You are very vague and evasive in your answers. I know you are trying to remain anonymous and I get that and understand and respect that - however- what was the " good reason " you left the Witnesses ? And if you left for a " good reason " what would make you return ? A " bad reason " ? Or another " good reason " ? And the comment you make about returning in the future " under certain circumstances " - what would those particular " circumstances " include ? Just curious -

UNDERCOVER- Yeah, I am in total agreement with you. That friend you mentioned ? I can think of at least 5 to 10 people , ex-JW's who are exactly like the guy you talked about. Some will say " well, I know it's the truth, but I just can't do it right now. " My ex-father in law was like that. Got DFed 3 times and still went back ! Formerly a druggie with Hepatitis C as weird as the actor Dennis Hopper - now he's a smug, reformed self righteous active JW who looks down on people like me and my son who just stopped attending. As Jim Morrison of the Doors said, " People are Strange " -

UCANTNOME- You stated " I returned at one point after having left for some time and may do it again in the future for different reasons than I did the first time. " Were you confused about WHY you left in the first place ? If the JW organization is causing so much confusion in you that you go back in, then leave- then go back in- why not just stay OUT of the organization ? Shouldn't that in itself be sending you a message ? Just wondering about your reasons .
Personally I don't think I could return and be a " glutton for punishment " as the JW's I know would make me feel guilty for having been out for so long- Oh sure, I'd be love bombed once I got back in , but after that all the DEMANDS of being a JW and the guilt and fear would be re-indoctrinated into my mind. I couldn't put myself through that. I guess I cannot understand the reasons anybody would put themselves through that

There's so much mental garbage in this article- I don't even know where to begin ! The picture of the parents on the doorstep with their child out in service " offering him up as a sacrifice of praise to Jehovah " was creepy enough - but comparing it to ancient Israel and Abraham offering up his son in a " burnt sacrifice " ? Now that is REALLY creepy. Hasn't the WT Society sacrificed ENOUGH young lives by their sick, disgusting child abuse policies and sending young people out in service where they could either get molested by a stranger or a solo JW like Jonathan Kendrick taking them out in service. I guess " sacrifice " would be the right term from the WT Society's viewpoint. Creepy.
So much stupid stuff in this article- I don't know where to begin or end - as I said. The quote, " Something that has destroyed many relationships is the " desire of the eyes " . We can prevent this danger by choosing a mate with poor eyesight " . So stupid it goes without saying.
O.K. I finally get it after reading on a little bit and getting myself in an uproar over nothing- this is a satire . It's still creepy though. But JW's are a creepy cult

I'm a father first!
by FatherFirst inhi guys, this is my first post; i thought i should introduce myself.
i was raised and spent most of my life a jw before i was disassociated, because i refused to stop seeing a non witness girl.
i must say their decision to cut me off from my family and friends although initially traumatic ended up being the biggest blessing in disguise of my life.

FATHERFIRST- Welcome to the board ! Your daughter is very lucky to have a father like you that's looking after her welfare. As regards most everything you stated about the WT Society I agree- although I take it one step further and call them a " criminal organization " - because THAT is what they are. Thousands of people have died due to their no blood transfusion doctrine. Their child abuse policies have led to children being ripped apart physically and mentally and emotionally, and the shunning policy has led to many suicides within the JW cult or organization. How much more criminal can they get ? Space won't allow me to write about ALL the criminal actions they take -

Please help me figure out my dreams
by Socrateswannabe inhi everyone, this may be the stupidest post ever.
i am stumped for an answer and would love to hear your opinions, though.
every week or two for the last couple of years, i have a dream--or at least that's what i'm calling it--that consists of me waking up or thinking that i've waked up, and seeing the ceiling of my darkened bedroom filled with algebraic equations.

SOCRATES- Are you sure you aren't an extra actor left over from the movie " A Beautiful Mind " ? That's what Russell Crowe did in that movie writing all kinds of mathematical equations on the board trying to figure it out. LOL. Just joking. In reality it's hard to say what it means. Perhaps in your earlier life you were having problems with math - who knows ? Or perhaps it's a message telling you that in your current life you are trying to figure things out in life and it's as difficult as a complicated math situation. That may be it. Without knowing your circumstances it's hard to say.
I have kept track of all my dreams in a diary the last 4 + years and it's really helped me. I've got over 426 pages of dreams logged now over that time. It's a real trip ! But interesting. I've read some books on psychological dream work therapy - very interesting as well. I highly recommend Frederick Perl's " Gestalt Therapy Verbatim " from the late 1960's with his dream work seminars at Esalan Institute near Big Sur , California very interesting stuff to see how people worked through understanding their dreams
