are they somehow hoping some of this stuff goes viral to garner attention?

are they counting on a public backlash so they can claim persecution?

Are the leaders really that out of touch with reality, or is this a calculated publicity stunt?

imagine being at a convention, only now you have no guilt about not paying attention and you have a smartphone with internet!.

the possibilities are endless, goof off and go to starbucks or shopping or whatever and not worry about rocks raining on your head!.

i wish i didn't feel too guilty do any of that at the time!!.

as a born in, or in at a very young age, what were your worst memories as a young jw child?.

i remember not being allowed to go to sleep in the meetings when i was tired.

not being allowed to do lots of things at school other kids could do.

Being forced to go out on field service on Saturday and Sunday mornings. All I wanted to do was stay home and watch Saturday morning cartoons. My favorite show was The Littles but I only got to watch two episodes cause I had to go preaching. I tried pretending I was sick, but it didn't work. The worst thing is, as a kid you start to feel like something is wrong with you because you dont like field service.

As an adult with thinking skills I can recognize the BS: All powerful God is going to destroy everyone who doesn't serve him, but it's MY responsability to warn everyone. And if I don't warn them and they die, it's MY fault. WTF?????

The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. In the spanish congregation, my friends and I thought the English congregations had it much better. The black brothers had flat-top/ high-top haircuts back when they were in. The cars in the parking lot were a lot newer than the cars we drove. We assumed they played the cool music at their parties. Oh, and due to the American culture being more independent-minded, we thought the elders were more restrained in asking personal questions. But you have guys have set me straight on all that. From what I've read in this forum, sounds like the same crap I went through growing up, but in English.

Is the Governing Body EVIL or IGNORANT?

some of you will have noticed that i've been paying a lot of attention to the governing body recently.

this is because most jehovah's witnesses venerate them collectively (even if they can't name them individually), and i feel this makes it important to understand this group of men properly and expose their mindset as individuals.

as the saying goes, i feel it's important to "know your enemy".. i realize it's very convenient to think of the governing body as being "evil" when we consider that they are ultimately responsible for all the damaging jw teachings and beliefs.

For me it boils down to this:

Evil = Knowingly perpetuation a farce

Ignorant = They believe they have the truth and are captives of a concept.

The best evidence I have is Ray Franz's testimony. Until I see evidence which shows they know it is all a lie and continue perpetuating it I have to say they are ignorant.
