1919? 1914? 1975? None of these dates are going to matter in a few years...
by Alpaca infor those of us who got burned by the borg's bogus bible chronology.... once a few more years go by (at least by 2020 or 2030), the borg will not be able to fit their supposed divinely arranged role into some kind of bible chronology unless they completely overhaul their explanations of the prophecies.
that leaves them in a catch-22.
if they got it wrong, what's to make them any more believable in the future?.

When we feed grain to the animals and the children starve...
by Alpaca in...we surrender that which makes us human.
--- a buddhist proverb (that i saw recently and thought extremely appropriate to current world events).. the world has really gone crazy (especially america) because now we are feeding grain to the machines and the price of food is going through the roof.. the hype about ethanol solving our fuel problems is one of the biggest farces ever perpetrated on the public and they are swallowing it as fast they are consuming gasoline.. no one in a serious policy making capacity has thought this through, or if they have they are sweeping the facts under the rug.
it takes an enormous amount of resources to produce the corn necessary to make ethanol, not the least of which is water.

If (a very big if) I were Catholic, I would be very proud...
by Alpaca ini am not one to cut religion any slack, but after the pope's appeal to heal the wounds of catholic youths who were victims of abuse by catholic priests, i could not help but compare his appeal with the pathetic, cowardly stance the gb has taken with the r&f in the borg.. this is notwithstanding blondie's post about the pope's complicity in the abuse cover-up.. the difference is that the borg leadership refuses to realize that they are fallible.
they cling to the view that they are somehow above reproach, taint, and fault.
they are truly pathetic.. just my take on things.. cheers to all,.

Any Deadheads out there???? ....Best band EVER????....Oh, Yeah!!!
by Alpaca insome of my "worldly" friends introduce me to the dead in 1973, when i was in my senior year of high school.....i was instantly hooked.... even though i "reformed my ways" when i graduated from h.s.
(1974) and towed the dub company line, i still couldn't get enough dead....neil young....new riders...santana...zepplin.... maybe that's what contributed to me maintaining some semblance of a realistic outlook on this life....that eventually led to bailing on the borg.. anyone else hooked on music/bands with a social conscience???.

Just curious--how many Dubs/ex-Dubs have come to JWD in the last year?
by Alpaca ini have the sense that we are seeing a lot more open dissent on jwd with dubs who are still in the borg or fading.. what do you guys think?.
how many have recently left or are in the process of leaving as a result of jwd or other related sites that expose the borg?.
what was the final straw that did it?.

The Chautauqua Institute is a "must experience" for you seekers....
by Alpaca inhey all,.
several years ago, when i was in one of my really "sour on religion" phases, some of my post-borg new friends introduced me to the chautauqua institute, near jamestown n.y.. this is one of the coolest places on the planet.
the institute was started by some methodist ministers in the 1800s as a forum for dialogue between religion, hard science, and the social sciences.
