  My theory about the behavior and obsession of some ex-JWs

  i've had this theory for some time and alluded to it occassionally but have never explored it in detail.. it is of course a huge generalisation so no, not everyone will fit into the boxes and i'd like people's opinion.

  i don't know everyone's circumstances so it's based on a small sample of some of those i do know something about.

  it could be completely wrong, it's just an idea.. basically, i have seen a difference between some of those ex-jws who walked out vs those who were kicked out.. the most bitter and obsessive seem to be the kicked out and, i must add, those who were legitimately kicked out.

  3,000,000 reasons JWD kicked ass

  well, we made it past the 3 million post mark ... what a huge milestone - it makes it one of the largest discussion forums on the internet!.

  a big thank you to everyone who posted on this site, shared a little bit of themselves with us or just said 'hi' along the way.. thank you for making this place rock and kick ass!.

  Me agrees with others above.
  
  This place, for the most part, is good.
  
  Me remembers the days when sex was mentioned, it was in jest/fun/pick
  spirit up after round of hard/reasonable debating posting period.
  
  Waiting (poster) was good at that.
  
  It truly has went down hill because certain elements that love the smut.
  
  This smut has nothing to do with ones' relation with God and Jesus our
  friends.
  
  Just smut/obscenity/pornography/fungus
  
  Why can't the moderators just pull the plug on the "smutters " and let the rest of us have the luxury of the therapy. There are so many good 'therapists' here who have lived it all and there are so many 'needy' ones who still have wobbling knees.

  Of all the 3m post do you remember this one?
  
  Everybody I know who has a dog usually calls him "Rover" or "Spot".
  
  I call mine Sex.
  
  Now, Sex has been very embarrassing to me. When I went to the City Hall to renew the dog's license, I told the clerk that I would like a license for Sex. He said, "I would like to have one too!" Then I said, "But she is a dog!" He said he didn't care what she looked like. I said, "You don't understand. ... I have had Sex since I was nine years old." He replied, "You must have been quite a strong boy." When I decided to get married, I told the minister that I would like to have Sex at the wedding. He told me to wait until after the wedding was over. I said, "But Sex has played a big part in my life and my whole world revolves around Sex." He said he didn't want to hear about my personal life and would not marry us in his church. I told him everyone would enjoy having Sex at the wedding. The next day we were married at the Justice of the Peace. My family was barred from the church from then on.
  
  ??When my wife and I went on our honeymoon, I took the dog with me. When we checked into the motel, I told the clerk that I wanted a room for me and my wife and a special room for Sex. He said that every room in the motel is a place for sex. I said, "You don't understand. ... Sex keeps me awake at night." The clerk said, "Me too!"??One day I entered Sex in a contest. But before the competition began, the dog ran away. Another contestant asked me why I was just looking around. I told him that I was going to have Sex in the contest. He said that I should have sold my own tickets. "You don't understand," I said, "I hoped to have Sex on TV." He called me a show off.?
  
  When my wife and I separated, we went to court to fight for custody of the dog. I said, "Your Honor, I had Sex before I was married but Sex left me after I was married." The Judge said, "Same here!"??Last night Sex ran off again. I spent hours looking all over for her. A cop came over and asked me what I was doing in the alley at 4 o'clock in the morning. I said, "I'm looking for Sex." -- My case comes up next Thursday.?
  
  Well now I've been thrown in jail, been divorced and had more damn troubles with that dog than I ever foresaw. Why just the other day when I went for my first session with the psychiatrist, she asked me, "What seems to be the trouble?" I replied, "Sex has been my best friend all my life but now it has left me for ever. I can't live any longer being so lonely." and the doctor said, "Look mister, you should understand that sex isn't a man's best friend so go get yourself a dog."

  previous to that he was mostly shunning me.

  without getting into details, he had given me room to explain things, especially as to how i have 'changed' as a result of leaving.

  a close relative recently called me verbatim, "a bad, bad, bad apostate and a sinner against the holy spirit" .. the apostate remark didn't bother me, actually it's a compliment when you think about it.. saying i was a "sinner against the holy spirit" that did bother me.

  this got me to wondering about all the names, accusations and labels given to people who don't want to be a jw anymore.. doing a quick search in the insight books i came up with a list.. apostates pg.126, antichrist pg.116, man of lawlessnes pg.

  310, resurrection - sinning against the holy spirit pg.

  How to find new friends?

  hi... my name is chrissy & i have been away from the "truth" for 8 years now.

  i married a "brother" when i was 20. i was humiliated by the "elders" in the backroom for oral sex & publicly humiliated but never disfellowshipped.

  my husband & i left the truth together after moving away from the area where we lived when we were witnesses.

  Me believes that Thoreau said it very well in his writings,
  
  "The most I can do for my friend is simply to be his friend".
  
  In my area we have very little one way streets.
  
  It's great for traffic flow.
  
  However, at times when all you want to do is get one block over,
  you find you have to travel five blocks down and five blocks back
  to get one block over.
  
  What me is trying to say, (you know this), Sometime to have a friend,
  while it might seem out of the way, we must go the extra distance to be

  31 Years A Watchtower Slave

  my other half has accepted this.. after many years of fading i have stopped going altogether.

  i still have friends and family in so i'm happy to remain inactive.. .

  i was never a very good watchtower slave to begin with.. i was raised in the truth but i never really put my heart and soul into the religion.

  i'm still trying 2 figure out if this is a pro or anti jw forum but here goes..

  i started studying jw 6 months ago & i do feel i'm growing.

  i think at the rate things are going i'll b babtised in another 6 months.
