How did you find this site?

it seems as though an age has passed from discovering this site seven years ago to where i am now.

just before we started studying the daniel's prophecy book, i went online to see if anyone had made a study bookmark with the dates and paragraphs on.

i "stumbled" across this site, way back in 2000. of course, like a good christian i pretty much determined that this site had gone apostate from the other jw sites, such.

The Clicks

anyone want to share their expierences on the clicks that would form in your meetings.

usually in my meeting they were started by the children of the so called elders.

freaking hipocrits, and spreading rumors and judging people all the time.

A Protest at Bethel

i am currently organising a peaceful protest at bethel headquarters during april.

at this stage i intend to do so on my own; although anybody willing is welcome to join me.

it will take place april 17-19 .

Bird Owners: Avian Roll Call

time to let our feathered friends get some notice here.. for those of you avian lovers/bird owners - what kind of bird do you own?.

i should re-word it, because they seem to 'own' us.. i have 3 birds: 1 female cockatiel (a rescued footless darling) called, nimh; 2 female budgies (1 rescued) named, baby and blue.

2 years ago you may remember i had a budgie named: busy.

I don’t have an imbalance (not that me know of) like yumbby said her mother did. (Here’s hoping she is better)

Me had a large out of doors aviary like yumbby’s mother, plus.

However, could not keep up my pioneer status and keep up the feather friends. So.

Yes, me is sorry me gave up the feathered friends for pioneering the WBTS ways. Those feathered friends were wonderful. They were so peaceful to be around.

But that is history.

But then again, it could have been to my benefit. Looking back, me could have gotten Farmers Lung also. Me has problems with my lungs. (Talkin’ too much about personal matters, sorry)

What is peaceful about the variety you mention you would like to have. To me, when you come up to them they just act like you are the only person in the world. They just talk to you in such a peaceful manner. Yes you would have to be there to understand what me is talkin’ about. Just makes goose bumps on your back?

Never had a goose.

But had a male turkey (he had a beautiful tail spread) that flogged the hell out of me before me could get away. Till this day me does not know what the hell me did to warrant such treatment.

Why won't US media talk about what's really going on?

puppy abuse and a pga golfer facing criminal for hitting an endangered bird?

gimme a freakin' break.. if you watch any news on television, you might as well just turn on e!

Dinah, Me agrees, as Me has been saying for years, yes years. The media is being controlled by the government just like Gopher says ’The government and the media themselves share blame’.

However, when Me and several others on this board (JWD) has said anything to this affect we are branded as apostates just like the WBTS people brand individuals to bring them into control.

One really needs to educate oneself about ones surroundings before judging the subject or someone else.

Justhuman (and others) when you talk about “Masses Con(tr)ol” ---- well you be the judge.

Try looking at some of these items.

Me might add, “Me doesn’t agree with all that is being stated here, however, an educated mind has the ability to separate the facts”.

My life - A brief history. Part 1

this post has gotten quite long so i decided to break it up into at least two sections.

i should start with a confession: it was my smurf that walked out of the kingdom hall in the early 80's.

My life growing up as a witness...

i have just spent the last 4 hours reading many various posts and finally built up the courage to register and share my experiences.

i am only 20 years old, but my young age should not overlook my intelligence as an observing individual.

i was born into the religion of the jehova's witnesses.

My mother told me today that the end is so close

she has been a faithful jw for over 50 years.

she was taught that the end was coming in the late 50's.. today she said that the terrible conditions in the world today prove that the end is near.

i told her that i. think that conditions in the world were a lot worse during ww1 and ww2 and it looks like things.

Something I learned from being born-in

been thinking and painting today.. anyway, my mind started wandering and settled onto this: being born in has made me more understanding of people since i woke up from the cult.

i came here, met a bunch of other born-in peeps who immediately understood.

we have all kinda branched out in different directions.

Me would like to add a thought.

In a paragraph starting with -- If anyone comes knocking on your door. You state,

“I wish I was allowed to talk to you, but I’ve been told I’m an apostate”.

Tefferin Laux me believes it would be better to say, “I wish that you were allowed to talk to me, but the WBTS has said that I am an apostate and I respect your rights not to speak”.

Why does me say this?

The WBTS has no control over non members (apostates, etc.). Non members can speak to anyone they wish. However, WBTS members are forbidden to speak to apostates or disfellowshipped/disassociated.

By making this statement in this matter one lets the WBTS member(s) or any other organization know that you are not hostile. That you are a peaceful person, etc. All hostility is placed on the other person.

Family shunning

this is my first time in a discussion forum.

i'm an ex-jw who hasn't "officialy" left the religion because i'm afraid my family will shun me.

i've been "inactive" for 10 years.

The WBTS has based their beliefs on the idea that they have been given special education from a higher being. (Nothing new, all other religious organizations do the same)

Me would like to say, “Rewards and punishment are the lowest form of education”.

That is the bottom line, reward and punishment, (sticks and carrots) with this shunning by the WBTS.

They use this method to keep their subjects in line with their approach to education. There was a news article this week that talked about religion in the U.S. It said that only 37% of the young people raised as witnesses remain such. It’s clear that sticks and carrots aren’t working.

The highest form of education is LOVE.

Shunning is NOT love.

Me thinks’ me not need say anything more.

P.S. LunaFing, there is something that has always stayed by me. It could have been written on a stone in my back yard by my next door neighbor. But is it written in 1 Corinthians 13: 1-13.
