Justice is justice.
A man who makes one woman "pay" for his abuse is no better or worse than a woman who makes a man "pay" for a past abuse.
Let the perpetrator pay for his/her own crime or else justice can never be served to any man or any woman.

Are Men's Rights Laughable?
by Paralipomenon inreading over the woody allen thread i noticed a couple things but didn't want to side track the "discussion".
1) woody allen is creepy.
2) nobody really seemed to care that his ex-wife was abusive towards her children.. an example i think is perfect was the release of twilight where you would see lineups of 30-40 year old women making very inappropriate comments about a 16 year old boy.

Valentine's Day:" At least someone got a chick today!"
by humbled inthat's what my oldest son said when i texted that our little red hen, goldie, against all odds, hatched herself a chick tonight.
nearly midnight now and i checked--there's another one breaking out to join the first one--.
--i put the egg to my ear and heard it cheeping!.

Hello. She is up to at least 5 and one breaking out now. I just peek and pry but don't lift her. So far:
3 pale yellow, 1 tiny black, 1 black and pale striped.
Names? When I sort them out--Lisa, Lois, Rip, Bruja, Clare, and Xan-- we'll see who crows later and know how close the matches are ;>)
The name of this little Ozark Mountain is Chicken Bristle. It is even mapped by that name here in Elkins, Arkansas. I just remembered that this morning.
I have no idea why it is named that.
Spring is coming. Here my husband has always been right about this: the spring peepers--little tree frogs--start their songs by the 3rd week of February. Even if it's cold. We'll see...

I had written in Xanthippe's thread "So what are you up to?" about finding Goldie's hidden nest after a long freezing time and then the heavy snow. She had 9 days to go to any possible success, but poor thing was bound to freeze in the wretched subfreezing temps,snow and freezing rains. Rugged little girl--the rooster diddied her and the guineas tweeked her tail as she ate the warm mash I gave her when she mad the dash to the porch after setting her precious eggs through the snowfall.
We brought her in ,Dick and I did. Put her in near the woodstove. An old woodbox with a lot of saw dust and some straw. She settled down and I noted that Valentine's Day wa s when it was supposed to happen---
and, by cracky, she did it!
I'll count my chickens after they hatch and see if my other son can get pictures up.
Ahhhhh, LIFE!

So what are you up to?
by Xanthippe inanyone else bored with religion versus atheism or is it just me?.
i'm planning to go to greece in may.. i'm thinking about planting rocket and beetroot in my garden this year because they are getting rather expensive to buy.. this week i want to make chocolate refridgerator cakes.
some for my daughter who is coming home from uni this weekend and some to take in to work to give away with free tea and coffee because it's national libraries day on saturday.. i just finished reading the humans by matt haig which was brilliant.

Happy Valentine's Day!
GOLDIE HATCHED OUT a BABY CHICK TONIGHT!
There may be more by morning. Or no more than this. I wish I could send you the sounds she is making as she clucks in her throat to the one little hatchling under her wing. I saw its little beak stick out once then pull back under her.
I came in late from my caretaking job and looked in on her... Steadfast and alone. I felt sorry for her after setting the eggs for 21 days, some days through the bitterest cold. This was the day...and nothing. Half an hour later stirring up the meal, I heard a peeping and knew what had happened.
It's a flippin miracle(--see the post about her on page two). She had come staggering in for feed after sitting in her hidden nest for darn near 2 weeks in a briar patch through our last heavy snow. I didn't think there was much a chance she could bring anything through, but we brought her in by the stove after I found her eggs. I had marked when she had first left off roosting with the other poultry and knew it should be valentine's day for a hatch.....
................and life found a way!

I know my cancer doctors allowed me to use it during my treatment. I just read that prostate cancer and non-small-cell lung cancer are affected by the use of gse. Two reputable research journals report on the technical findings.

When one is burnt out with radiation and chemo, this is will not cause general harm--It just provides cancer cells with an assisted suicide.

There is a lot of bad stuff on both sides. Men often do have a hard time getting the rights coming to them.
It makes me tired to remember all the bad stuff that happens in the man/woman world that I know among family, friends and co-workers.
Three years back I learned of a false rape accusation made on young man. I learned what happened in some detail because I knew him. His sister dug deep in her savings to pay for a good criminal lawyer --but it shattered him.
The police detective dug into the matter and determined that his story panned out--and the accuser's ex-husband said she had done the same thing years before--cried rape when she was caught with a strange man in bed while married. Turns out she had repeated the act when her boy-friend accused her of "dating" on the side--she called "rape" again on that young man.
The young man escaped prison but ended up in therapy. the lawyer told him he was fortunate. He would have been tagged as a sexual preditor for life.
I knew a professional man whose mentally ill ex-girlfriend tracked him down and threw some movie tapes at him, shattering his glasses and cutting his face. He called the police saying she had attacked him (not the usual scenario, right?). She claimed the opposite. He said "I've got blood on my face" and said that he only hoped for one thing--" One of us needs to go to jail--and I do not care which of us it is."
They thought for a minute--and took her.
I know many stories like this--not from reading the papers, either. Men who cannot get custody of children who are harmed by mom's new man, mommy's drug habit. Of the four cases I know myself, one young man finally got custody of a child he had "accidentally" with a woman when they both were teens. He struggled for visits. Worried about the drugs in the baby momma's life and finally won custody when the momma got busted for drugs. The girl is fine and 12 years old now.
But of course,men do bad stuff, too. Molestaters and abusers among them. Some one I knew years back cried on the phone to me--she wouldn't call it rape because she knew the fellow and they both had been drinking---but she had never been "with" a man before. She felt like a slut.
Three weeks later she missed her period.
The guy was an ass about everything.
Little girls and little boys with no justice, no help.
I wish people would JUST BE FAIR! be good to each other. No prejudice against women or prejudice against men. Make fair laws and apply law fairly---no matter if the accused or the accuser has no money.
Not everyone has a big sister wih deep pockets to hire "justice".
I almost skipped this thread. It is so rotten what people do to each other.

[i had given them the impression that i am very busy due to my secular assignments, hence most of the time out of station.].
then i thought two elders visiting me cannot have an ordinary purpose, and i should give them a piece of my mind.
