Can't see how families will be able to afford multiple Bibles at $40-$50 each. No problem back in the day for families when Bibles were $1 each. There could become a trend of a "family" Bible,,(maybe an extra page to record marriage dates and baptisms, but to be almost untouchable).

by EndofMysteries infrom relatives and contacts in 2 states, there have been no bibles available for a couple months.
one person mentioned to me as well about supposed quotes in the magazines from other bibles.
rumors are that they will announce a new bible, or possibly tell everyone to buy a bible from another place that they approve of.

i asked if the mid week meeting was also and was told yes, because of the assembly.. it seems there's an overload of theocratic alternative banqueting feasts available so.
that the regular menu at the kh is not necessary for that week.

Interesting. No one will miss the mid-week meeting I am sure, except for the self-righteous or socially needy.
Makes me go further to wonder. I didn't think ever that the "congregation book study" would ever be dropped (I know it was merged into the TSM and SM) Could the TMS and SM ever be dropped also, I mean, merged to Sunday? I mean, couldn't the Watchtower still have their '5 meetings' choke hold all held on one day as well? How far back was it when the organization only had Sunday meetings? (Sorry, maybe this should be for another thread?)

study article that exalts the governing body and pretty much negates everything the bible students and russell, the founder of the watchtower, ever said was truth!.

So happy for you about your mom!! I think even older ones can finally see. I think more older ones will be leaving, or going inactive at least. Some may not go out full force, but will be able to truthfully and conventiently say "because of my health problems, expenses, etc."

If the rumor is true, and there is a new bible will it be distributed at the AGM?
by hoser intotal speculation of course, but if they are good marketers every attendee will leave the event with a shiny new new world translation.

They may do an annoucement, but state as funds/donations come in, 'then' this 'new' 'new' world translation 'may' be out 'soon.'
Really their distraction of moving expenses, packing up, construction work upstate has probably got them into a 'frenzy.'

on the weekends, i go to a local restaurant/coffee shop and spend some time there reading, studying, taking notes, etc.
i also get a light breakfast with my 6 to 10 cups of coffee.

When I think of the tens of thousands little JWs children (including me) having to sit or stand but not salute, facing ridicule or worse, taking the brunt of it all those school years,, all for nothing. When it's ok for JW adults putting up flags so as to not have to pay a fine.. just makes me furious!!!

What is happening in Mexico?
by ILoveTTATT ini have heard that a lot of the english congregations in mexico are shutting down... they are condensing 5 congregations into one, or in some areas even disbanding the only english congregation.
jw's who have been living in mexico for many years and probably were sheltered by being in the english congregations will now have to move to spanish congregations.... .

Too many U.S. JWs going to Mexico to "serve where the need is greater." Haha. Pub. to population in Mexico 2012 is one pub per pop. of 150. U.S. stat is one pub per pop. 262!
The need is 'greater' in the U.S. now. Haha. The "English" congs. not increasing. The 'English' need help.
The WTS want those who are retiring or whatever to keep their money in U.S. because the WTS wants/needs their money more!

Wiki says there are "30 Zones." There is an organizational "lopping" of branches for sure. May help with expenses and better control as well.

then what do the gb get out of all this?.
tim cook (ceo apple) makes around 378 million a year.. donald trump makes around 60 million a year.. i understand the wbts may have vast property holdings, stocks, bonds, and revenue from donations.. but i can't grasp the incentive for the gb to make this stuff up.
