Shawn, in the link German XJW posted 12/8/06 the WTS are listed under the section for Belgium (next to last entry) on page 3. They are also listed under USofA (last entry) on page 7.

JWs in world politics: Jehovah's Witnesses Are "Politically" Neutral - NOT
by Dogpatch inhttp://www.osce.org/odihr/16533.html.
so, you say that jehovah's witnesses aren't "political" or take any part in the affairs of the world?
http://www.osce.org/documents/odihr/2006/10/21654_en.pdf what does the watchtower say about "political" involvement?

The problem with DNA is that it is all gone by the time the victim tells the elders and they call Brooklyn Legal Dept.
IF Brooklyn decides it should be reported and the elder is instructed to telephone the police from a pay phone so he can't be identified all evidence is long gone.
Too bad the victim or parents are to stupid (brainwashed) to go to the police themselves!!!

What's reasonable to expect on a first date?
by serendipity ini've been on online dating sites for a while, have exchanged emails with over 100 guys (politely saying "thanks, but no thanks" to the vast majority) and went on dates with a few.
i'm generally disappointed in the emails these guys sent and have been disappointed in the dates.
i'm not sure if the problem is with my expectations or if there is just a lack of communications skills and courtesy among people.

The guy may have been nervous and over compensated by talking too much about himself. The problem I have with him are the two you listed
... to punish his kids, he'd make them exercise until they cried. Then he told me that he admired JWs because they disfellowship people
These are not even his kids and he is punishing them like this ?!!! Mental and physical abuse is NEVER cool or acceptable.
I dated & almost married a guy that treated me very good but tried to mistreat my kids. He tried with my daughter but she was spunky enough to stand up to his ignorant demands. I had to step in a time or two with my son to stop the guy. It was controlling mental abuse. Needless to say he didn't last very long. I think I knew he was a goner when we went to a wedding. We were on the dance floor and he made the statement that we would go a long way if I was a good little lady and stayed in my place.
Did you talk about JWs or did he mention them out of the blue? Disfellowshipping is another form of abuse. Sounds like this fellow has issues you need to watch carefully if you go out again.

I was born & raised in Georgia.
I think Alabama is pretty much the same as Georgia but we have all the Alabama jokes just to make us feel better about ourselves.

Massive donations to the WTS
by greendawn inhave any of you or people that you know such as relatives or friends, made a very significant donation to the wts?
by that i mean property, or money in excess of let's say $10 000. .
enriching an already very rich organisation has to be moronic, they are the ones that should be helping the poor among them the proverbial orphans and widows.

When I was young, divorced and still "in" I had very little money and two babies so there was no money for the contribution box. All I can recall giving them money for was the literature. When that was
placedsold, I kept the money to pay for the next batch I had to get for Field Circus. My father was always dropping money in the contribution boxes at the assemblies every Sunday after they had their accounts report begging for $$$. I never felt like I had any to give and it did make me feel bad sometimes.
Now it makes me very happy that I did not have the money to give them. Now that I have a little extra I give it to my kids - NOT the WTS.

My father's family donated all of their inheritance ($500,000 +) last year.
The remaining siblings are very old: one uncle is very comfortable $$ wise. The remaining aunt lives in a house that is falling in around her but she sees nothing wrong with it and said she doesn't need to be 'rich' (her portion was only about $60,000). She also told me the family is just so big it was easier this way. The attorneys still had to contact each of the many heirs by letter because of the questionable way the estate was handled.
Another uncle that was alive at the time was very ill and unable to even pay his medical bills. He was seeing things and talking to people that weren't there. A sister in law of the siblings (a good and faithful pioneer sister) personally took this ill man to the attorney's office to sign away his portion of the inheritance. She was paid either $15,000 or $25,000 and she was not an heir - her husband died many many years ago & her daughter was an heir. This uncle's brothers and sister did give him a few dollars - the same amount as the sister in law got.
The remaining sibling alive is my 92 year old father who would rather give his portion of his inheritance to the WTS instead of helping out his kids, two of which are poor faithful dubs and drive very old vehicles to meetings and in service.
Several decades ago this family (siblings) chose to sign over all of the property to one brother to manage after their father died. He eventually became very ill with altzheimers and was in the hospital unable to care for himself. The elders from the congregation (one of whom was his first cousin) came to the hospital with a completed will and had him sign it leaving everything to the WTS. Instead of contesting the will all of the heirs fell in line and allowed it to stand.

No, John Doe, you did not dream that thread. I remember it too. Sounded like the speaker was happy to make that announcement.

Do You Recognize Your Baptism?
by sweetstuff ini was promised that this generation would no means pass away.
(live forever book, pg.
154) i brought this up, although it has probably been discussed before, because i am sure some people right now are worrying how to handle an elder's visit or call.

Definitely not.
There was never a dedication. I had no idea what I was doing at 12 years old.
