i'm not saying those in power would even contemplate doing this, but i wonder just how far jws would go to obey their leaders.
would they go as far as to kill, if they thought god had given that message to 'his people'?.
it would probably take years of subtle changes in their message so that it didn't come as a big shock.
They have already been killing people for decades in a non-violent (?) way.
I do believe there are a few that would have no problem being more proactive.
My father was always a quiet, kind man, but as a child growing up JW, I always believed he would kill me if Jehovah told him to - just like Abraham was willing to kill Isaac.

The monsoon rains have finally cooled the desert down. It's been less than 100 the last couple days. I have actually been able to sit on the patio the last couple mornings and late evenings.

I just read it a few weeks ago. Very touching story of a father & son. I am taking it to my son so he can read it.
I did not understand why they didn't just stay in that cellar that had everything they could ever have needed - at least until the winter was over.
Did you catch why the father needed so bad to get to the ocean? Did he think maybe he had family there?

I had downloaded it a couple times from different links and saved it to a CD. When it finishes and I try to read it, it always says it can't open without me buying some other program.
Still haven't figured out what I'm doing wrong.
did you ever think about the fact that when you were a dub, it was pointless to buy a box of all occasion greeting cards?
it annoyed the heck out of me, because you couldn't use the ones for birthdays or most of the sympathy cards (because they often said "lord" or "god" in them).
so what would a box of jw greeting cards contain?.
