Maybe it will upset them, maybe they will just discard...
by Crumpet init is my parents wedding anniversary saturday and every year since i left i have always sent them a card.
i wondered whether i should or not this year.
on balance i wasn't sure what would upset them more - waiting for a card that never came, or receiving a card at all, especially since i said in december that i wouldn't "bother" them anymore.. anyway it felt right to send a card so i did and i decided to put a little note inside, folded and bearing the message: "my news, but don't read it if you aren't interested".

My roommates memorial experience
by oppgirl63 inas most of you know from my previous posts, i'm a 43 y/o lesbian with a jw roommate.
well, last week i got a hair cut and i'm looking more boyish than usual right now until it grows back out some.
any way...i drop my roommate off at the kh (she can't drive because of epilepsy) and this young boy is opening the door for everyone.

I went to the Memorial.

i was nervous but excited, kind of like standing in line for a roller coaster.. ok. so erika gets ready at her house, and i get ready at mine.
i'm wearing a black suit with a light green shirt, and a tie that had hues of green and yellow in it.

I agree with Richie...If she cried....BiG DEAL....He has shed many tears. Maybe some real emotion will do her some good! My mom only cries when it will benefit herself and get her some attention.

It IS SO TRUE that all of the DUBS sound the same......especially the parents.
Like "You knew when you got baptised as a young person with no life experience that you would one day discover there was so much more to know and possibly deciede that you couldn't swallow the JW bullsh t anymore and then you would get out of the cult and since you had chosen this path all along, you will be cut off from our love......Well, it is your own fault!" Can it get any dumber??
We are all victims of this cult and what it does to families, it is crazy.

As long as the limbo place is working for you, it seems many deciede not to rock the boat for as long as possible. There are many here that have done that. It is just important to free you mind from what their doctrines are so you don't feel guilty...that is a huge tool they use!
I went the other way and DA'd myself from the get go...I didn't know any better really, and it has been painfull to totally have lost my mom.
Stick with the people who love you unconditionally......don't put too much importance on the rest!!
