my worst fear is that they won't let us talk.
i call her every couple days and i hadn't talked to her for a couple weeks.

Our daughter have similar names synergy.....My daughters name is Shaley. I asked her if she liked it when she was 4...She said "no", so I asked what she wished it was...and she said "Princess Aurora"..LOL...I said I would askagain when she is older :)
hi everyone, i recently joined this forum as i'm close to being df.
i am suppose to meet with a judical committee soon but was thinking that i don't want to go through those personal questions that i'm sure the elders would ask.
does anyone know, is it better to just tell the elders before, say like on the phone, that i want to be df and not go through the committee?
If you do it.... please tape it and share I am glad I didn't do it though, after reading what others went through.
as some of you know i am an active jw in search of the truth and i see many good and bad things in the organization i am interested in knowing the following from forum.

I believe that the Bible is God's word and that is how his words are communicated to us. I believe what you take from it is part of having a personal relationship with Jehovah.....and it can be different for each person.

they say love is what makes the world go around.............and at bethel, us "new boys" would say..... "if god created anything better then sex...............he kept it for himself!".
how would we know?...............most of us never had it........didn't make any difference...........we talked about it...........fantasied about it...........dreamt about it..........i' m sure because we could't have it.

Actually, my head has been spinning over this the past few minutes.
My daughter need braces. Her dad cannot afford it.(Works for his J-dub family with crappy insurance) My husband has great insurance and we would be (more than) willing to pay for them as long as we can get her on our insurance. That may be the way in for this to happen. I don't want to "take her" from them....I just want to know they can't "take her" from me.
i just wanted to share an encouraging thought with anyone who is struggling to fade away from the watchtower.
six years ago, when i first started posting here, i was a ministerial servant with doubts.
my wife was an active sister and my 11 and 12 year old sons were enrolled in the theocratic ministry school and going out in field service every week along with their 7 year old sister.. there has been a lot of stress and tears along the way, my wife and i often wondered what our future would bring, but i can honestly say that we have made it.
Thanks for that. I know that is why I keep reading the boards. I love knowing that so many that are deep in find their way out. Also, having all the posters here giving encouragment and support with the day to day struggles of dealing with the reprocusions is a huge help to me as well.

JWDaughter.....Those are some really good points. I would like to know I have some say in her life....and not worry about them being able to "wisk her away" at any moment. I will look into getting some joint custody, so I no longer have to worry about that. Thank you so much!

i've had in the past studied a little about the bible with jws but have yet decided to be baptised.. i've just read lavenders' moving letter to her son and her love and well being for him is very obvious.
i do like the bible teachings very much and to this day i'm very interested in the end of the system of things which will very soon come to fruition; i'm a very strong believer, however i must stipulate to all, in retrospect i'm not sinless.
one of the posters says that jw's ask you to do a liitle bible study with them, attend one of their meetings and when you get baptised you have to do exactly what you are instructed or else.
JW's act as if they are the only religion to show true love. However, if you look (not so deep) into it, they really don't follow this. When you first associate with them, they do show ALL KINDS OF LOVE....but after being around them for a while, you can see how conditional it is.
People are not only removed for wrongdoing, but, a huge new trend is people being removed for not agreeing with what the society dictates....no matter what the BIBLE says. People in that position lose their friends and families, just like they did commit a serious sin.
Please be careful and keep researching things about this religion. The people themselves are often kind and trying to please Jehovah, but, they are being mislead to think that Jehovah works through the Bethel headquartes. Why would God go through the trouble of perserving the Bible if he was planning to have a group of men to tell everyone what to think and do?
I agree that you can learn a-lot of good things by studying with them, but...there is a whole lot of their own doctrine that you must follow to be a part of them too, and that is not backed by Jehovah's word.
Welcome to the boards....you will find lots of love here too.....as well as many other religions that don't put all kinds of manmade "rules" that you need to follow for acceptance.

Vanilla....I am so glad you got your son back. I know it must still be hard when they have to go to get brainwashed on the weekends. I guess we have the same job of balancing things out. I try to do that with my daughter. Thanks for the encouragment.
