It sounds so UNBELIEVABLE...but, here, we know it is true! It makes me so happy I didn't meet with the elders and just DA'd myself. I think it would have caused me a nervous breakdown. (Well, a worse one...LOL)

Welcome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
questions to ask to open the eyes of jehovah's witnesses and save some lives.
my first question is - you use acts 15 saying "abstain from blood" as if applied to modern emergency transfusions of whole blood but isn't it balanced by matthew 12:7 where christ says god wants "mercy not sacrifice" when surely the death of even one single adult or child is sacrifice;.
my second question is - isn't it significant that 1 samuel 14:32-35 says to stay alive all saul's men ate blood with meat and were not punished with death; they only had to build an altar to show they were sorry it had been absolutely necessary, and that was due to the mosaic law then being in effect;.
Those are great points that I havn't concidered yet. I have e-mailed them to a couple of family members. Thank you so much!
just wanted to say that the new semester has started at university, so i won't be able to post here as much as i would like.
as someone said in a recent discussion.. 'education is the true destroyer of falsehoods'.. so i'm doing my best to get as educated as possible... that means a huuuuge schedule :).
@sirnose, thebiggestlie etc.
I know everyone on this board is cheering you on in your efforts in school! Good luck! Hope to hear from you as your life progresses!!!
my parents became jw's in the early 60's just before i was born.
i was raised as a jw but hated everything about it from a very early age.
going door to door was the worst growing up.
I don't know....I feel the same as you because it still affects my life every day.....Like not having a mom....Knowing your family is awaiting your death in armegeddon, ect. I don't know how to stop feeling so mad.
hello everyone.
here is a video of a phonecall made this morning to the wt regarding "br.
prince" and his "worldly" performance at the superbowl yesterday.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xdldlvl4ktw.
So....if I tell my mom I am reinstated....there would be no way to confirm it?? (No, I am not about to do that...but, hmmmm)
As long as both people feel the same way, then I think it is ok to just enjoy being in love. If two people are thinking differently on the matter though, then you have to figure why each person wants what they do and see if you can still be the right ones for eachother.
dear friends,.
i am taking some time away from posting.
i don't really know if or when i will be back.
Lil....I understand how that feels. Sometimes being on these boards brings up a-lot of "crap" from the past. I know you have a-lot of great things going on....Keep us posted on how you and your family are!
so, it was my daughter's birthday on the 2nd of february.. she is being raised jw and i sent her an email birthday card.. i get this note as a response: (mind you, it may be from her mother).
hey dad, .
i'm sorry i havent written you.
I was raised as a JW with my biological dad never having been one. When my dad got us one time (we had just began being JW's) I was about 10 and my sister was 7. It was her birthday and our family surprised us with a b-day party. (He always celebrated my 1/2 birthday with my sisters since mine is the day before x-mas) Well....the surprise was on them when I locked me and my sister in the bathroom crying because we did not want to displease Jehovah.
We see how the fear in the religion takes hold of adults...and it is even worse for kids.
Now my 8 year old is still in and instead of trampling on her "beliefs"(for now) when I have her around the holidays...I play by their rules. We have "I am glad you were born" cards and presents. We have "gift exchanges" for x-mas. Don't prove the JW's right....they say you will do anything to turn her from Jehovah. Just do all the loving things you want to do, and when she is grown and thinking for herself, she will see what you did for her.
My dad never tried to celebrate with us again....but he never stopped sending presents around the special times. Now I love him for it.
I know it is hard to be in this situation. Hang in there! ((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))
just want to take a poll.
no need for explinations, just for or against.. me- against..
Both.
i just want to know what most of jw(ex or inactive or active) parents use or used for curriculms.
and results of using certain ones.
When I was young, we did Cal-vert. That worked out good and my mom was somewhat involved.
For highschool I did American (Out of Chicago) You sent in your work and you could call and talk to a teacher if needed. I taught myself through high school. I think I turned out OK, but I think parents being actively involved is key.
The good news is that by being home-schooled I had no bad association. I just got to go in service a-lot. Oh....wait...that was bad association!
