I'm curious, as a JW,what were "worldly" things to you? Tell us differences
by NotaNess inone thing that bugs me about the witnesses that surround me is their interpretation of what's worldly or not.. i'm surrounded by money focused people, who have to have such expensive things, clothing, go to bars or clubs, drink enough to be buzzed real good, if not a bit drunk, party goers, gossipers, lyers, foul immoral thinking ones...should i go on?.
so where does a witness draw their own line in the sand?
this is where i see hypocracy flourish.

LOL I was told Queen, AC/DC, Frankie goes to hollywood, Village people, KISS, Etc etc was evil and 'wordly' I still owned a few albums, to keep me sane see?
dating=wordly, should be 'courting' (Gonna get married, right?)
Friends at school, University/College, family (non-Witless)
just about everything that was not endorsed by my Pres Overseer father, or the WT&BT$....
Alchohol, however I did experiment. Got horribly wasted in the company of fellow 'Witties'. They never ratted me out, however I must say that was the last time I drank that much alchohol. I knew I had enough when I downed some guys beer, and it tasted like water. I only realised the next day I did that, and was told how I acted. Could not remember much... I thought THAT was 'worldly'

The End of Jehovah`s Witness`s
by OUTLAW inwe see alot of topics on the board about the end of the wbt$..i don`t think that will happen in our lifetime........so..lets change our focus..kingdom halls are getting fewer and fewer jw`s in them..congregations are being dissolved and kingdom halls are sold off..many jw`s are very unhappy and we see alot of them on this board.....the wbt$ is a billion dollar organization,they will survive for along time to come..........how about the jehovah`s witness`s?.......with fewer and fewer members..information about the wbt$ on the internet..and..some very depressed jehovah`s witness`s looking for a way out of the cult they are in.....will the "jehovah`s witness`s" survive?...outlaw

I was at the office in Montague Gardens Cape Town. Mrs Smith walked into the office and said 'Have you guys heard of the plane crash in New York? It flew into some sky scraper." At first I looked at her, waiting for the punch line, surely this is a joke. She had been shopping and heard on the car radio.
I thought this was a stupid accident. There is surely no airport so close to the city! Here in Cape Town we had a helicopter go down in the city, and since then no aircraft is allowed over the city. New York must have similar rules I thought.
We switched on a small radio we had there, just in time to hear the regular program interupted to report the second plane. That is when it dawned on us that this was no accident.
Time seemed to slow down, The usual chatting and working stopped. The factory went quiet and stayed that way for the rest of the day.
I have some experience in firefighting in high rise buildings and I knew those fire fighters were in for a near impossible task. I was, and still am cut up about the senseless loss of life... We are not American but we felt the pain with you.

As children we played 'Kindom hall, kingdom hall', with those lame @ss songs. Why? That escapes me completely right now, must have been really thick to bring that torture to the playground. But I had to laugh at some of the comments.
I can't think of one song I actualy liked.
Most disliked? The one with the chorus 'send me, send me' Never occured to me to ask where the heck the suits (elders) were sending me. Just assumed these songs were part of God's worship.

I heard a story in the Kingdom Hall that goes like this.
Long ago, far far away, a man shot some sales guy that knocked on his door. When the cops arrested this maniac, they asked why the JW that knocked on his door moments before did not get shot. He stated that he decided to kill the next person who comes to his door, but could not because they JW had two huge dudes standing behind her.
Even back then I speculated that this was an exageration. Surely this story just goes around and around and around ad nauseum. It all horse sh... oops almost said something nasty..
