Locks of Love Donation
by whyamihere inlast night, my kids had appointments to have their hair cut, i wanted them to look decent before school starts.
as i sat there, realizing i needed one myself, a trim to say the least, i went ahead and asked if she had time for my hair.
thankfully she had the time.

I remember a beautiful young girl in my old Hall who had long blonde hair. She got her head shaved at school and donated her hair to children who were on chemotherapy and had lost their own hair. Rather than be praised for what she did, the elders had a little chat with her, basically denouncing what she had done (after all, this System of things will soon be gone----why bother trying to help anyone?). Not only that, but she was not allowed to go out in Service or give any talks until her hair grew back in several inches.
How awful for her to be treated this way! I wonder how those elders would feel if one of their children lost all their hair from chemo and had to go around bald.
Thanks for the link. I'll be needing a hair cut soon anyway.

Anyone else setting up the Christmas tree or thinking of it already?
by WTWizard inbeing that i like the looks of the christmas lights and that i have had 20 years of not being able to set them up, i have already taken the step of setting up the christmas tree.
on it are huge amounts of lights--12 sets of c6 led bulbs (they come 60 to a set) plus a set of 70 miniature leds for the top region.
i ran out of c6 bulbs about halfway up the tree (not to worry, i have the other 6 sets on order and they should be arriving today).. there are some things to think about when setting up a holiday tree out of "season".

if you have the itch to put up a tree.. why not a Halloween tree
sassy, I'm with you. I've begun my halloween shopping and I can't wait to put up our halloween tree. We usually can find some large branch that fell out of a tree and that's odd shaped enough to be our halloween tree. I'm so excited! We have a huge halloween party every year, it's so much fun.

Online Dating
by FreeGirl2006 in*sigh* i was seeing someone for several months, but it is not working out.
so i went back to my only way of meeting men thus far--online dating sites.
i have had some really cool experiences, but i think i am getting burnt out....if i read one more email from a guy that reads "u r booteful and i wud luv to chat with u and then maybe we go out and eat" (or my personal favorite today--"you are eye-popping"--i am busty and the current picture reveals that little fact) i think i will puke!

What Do You Do for Work / Career?
by BlackPearl ini've been on the board for quite a while now and was wondering, what do my fellow jwdr's do for work, employment or career?
me, i'm in probably one of the most hated careers in america right now.
(not gonna tell you what it is either) but how about you, what do you do to earn a little coin?.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. My husband was given gabapentin and it works out very well for him. He still has some bad days but over all it works. You might want to see if Neurotin will work also. Maybe it's cheaper. I have no idea of the prices because he's a veteran and goes to the VA hospital for his meds.

CO tells us the reason for the Tract Work
by stillajwexelder inok so this was told to the entire congregation by the circuit overseer.
"the society knows the tract work brings hardly any new disciples in.
we get a few good experiences out of it and a few start studies and attend a few meetings.

A tract was left at my door a couple of months ago. They rang my doorbell and left after a few seconds. They were off to the next house without even making a presentation
I guess they are scared to come to my house. Been there almost 3 years now and not one old mag or tract. Not that I'm complaining.
Maybe they are scared of my kitties.... or the winding driveway with the trees
