wow!.
i've only had about ten cups of coffee in my entire life (i'm 30 now).
last night i didn't get to bed until 2:30 a.m. so i was dragging about an hour ago.

the last 12 months at the book study has been very hard work for me.
i have found the isaiah book boreing and very hard to follow.

Then ask yourself a question such as: Did Jehovah lie in Isaiah when he said "alone"? If not, what does Hebrews say that Jehovah said his Son did?
There are many,many 'coincidences' like this. Isaiah is actually a terrific book, just not if you are studying with the jw's. dj

my husband's sister is shunning us, mind you we have not been df'd...we just stopped attending meetings and my husband told his mom and sister he doesn't believe it is the truth.
that is not what irks me, that is to be expected i guess.
what just irks the heck out of me is that she sent my father in law over (he is not a witness) over our house with her car and asked my husband to change her oil and also put in a new water pump.

That sounds all too familiar!!!!!!!!!!!! I experienced the same nonsense with my family. I am too evil for ____________. but not for_________! As long as it was beneficial for them!!!!
It used to really piss me off!!! After a year though, I decided to just let them crap all over me if they wanted too because I hope that their dead brains will wake up and notice who is behaving with love and who isn't. It is working, I still see the bewildered looks on their faces.Love confuses the heck out of them. dj

I'm sorry about the above...lol I don't even know how I managed that. Anyway, I was interested in your post. I live in PA and we get Chuck Swindall here on a radio program as well. I like him too. I, just like you have been thru a lot of soul searchin and pretty much believe what you do. There is the truth out there. I found Jesus to be just that truth....literally. After many years of prayer and reading..the berean that I am, I discovered that. I asked Jesus into my life and since that time He has given me much understanding. He fed me thru scripture very slowly, like I was a baby so that I wasn't given too much at one time. So cool, because I need to slowly absorb stuff in order to process it..lol. I'm sure he'd do the same for you, if he isn't already.
I only have one word of caution to you though, if your'e like me and it sounds like you are.......try to remember not to judge the people in the church. They cannot relate to us xjw's. We sound looney as all get out to them! I'm sure you'll find some loving, warm friends in Christ and hang onto them. They can be extremely helpful in teaching you a 'different' way of thinking. Just remeber too though that we are still here for you when/if you need us wacko's to relate to with our xdub-mentality.
I, too attended a church and found many loving sisters in Christ, because my fleshly sisters no longer spoke to me. I even met a woman who was like a mama to me!!!! Those people were more loving to me than anyone ever was.Sadly, we moved and I haven't made that step yet in my new home. I will though. Lots of love to you, Lin. Oh, and by the way....I have a Methodist sister-in-law (married to my dubby bro) She puts up with a lot from him and does it wonderfully. Methodists and Mostly all the other denominations believe basically the same thing....Saved by Grace not by Works and that fruits flow from us as a result of our re-birth. Jesus is our mediator....etc. The worst part for me was the trinity, by far. I have even been given the food to comprehend that. UNBELIEVABLE. Be patient, sweetie. He is Faithful!!! love, dj

reading voltaires post about his mom not shunning him got me thinking.. i'm sure there will be other parents as well as siblings that see the falicy of the wts teaching that parents must shun their children if the wts demands it.. but what do you think will happen if the wts decides to make examples out of those parents that would dare not blindly follow the wts directions?.
what will happen if the wts starts dfing the parents that will not shun their children?.
as we are finding out, the wts wants even those that are not df or da'd shunned.. that's obvious from the acounts of those that are being shunned even tho they are not df or da'd.. so what do you think will happen when the wts realizes that they don't have complete control of their followers and some of them (gasp) are continuing having a relationship with their children even tho they may for whatever reason not be a practicing jw?.
