Cut them some extra slack to begin with, don't automatically judge the things they say/do. Over time you'll be able to distinguish the actions that come from having a significantly different world-view from the actions that come from laziness, obstinacy or rudeness.

How tolerant are you?
by nicolaou ini was just skimming through lt's intolerance thread and it seemed to me that sometimes tolerance is a terrible thing.
we don't tolerate racism, sexism or abuse and punish it when we can.
we expose and ridicule individuals and corporations if they are found guilty of fraud or deceit because we are intolerant of dishonesty.

Then of course there's the religionists, I mean, we have to be tolerant of other peoples faiths don't we? Oh god don't get me started.
Tolerance cuts both ways, would you rather other people's religion and views were imposed on you? Or if they are, are you happy about it?

When was Jesus Christ Created?
by renando_stimpy ini was thinking about this today and was wondering what the wts has to say about such things ?.
isaiah 43:10 : ... before me no god was formed nor will there be one after me.... john 1:1 (nwt): ... the word was a god .... john 1:2 : ... he was with god in the beginning .... if no god would ever be formed before and no god would be formed after, when was jesus christ ( a mighty god - isa 9:6 ) formed ?
i think the bible makes itself quite clear regarding time, first and last, alpha and omega, beginning and end, before and after, morning and evening etc.. so i would think that saying god is not within a form of time albiet a different time to ours (days = years) wouldn't hold water when compared to the scriptures... rev 1:17 - ... do not be afraid.

Christ was a creation of Paul (as the man admitted in the book of Romans).
That sounds interesting, could you supply us a reference?

Cold-blooded reptiles also evolved into warm-blooded mammals, don't forget. If they hadn't, I wouldn't be talking to you now.
This is as good a primer as any on the history of mammal evolution from cold-blooded reptiles: The Evolution of Mammals

...I should clarify, that's not a transition from death to life, as death by definition requires life as a precursor. E.g. a brick isn't dead.

Dead things don't come to life, as far as I know. That's just plain silly.
However, some initially simple self-organizing systems might experience a growth in complexity over time, and at some point pass the criteria for what we define as 'life'.

"Rex, what is god if he is not an "irreducible complexity"?"
This is a great point, and reminds me of an interesting thought experiment for theist/deists:
'God' is presumed by believers to exist outside of the known universe. God created the universe. In order to create the universe, there must be space to create it in, at a minimum there needs to be as many dimensions as we have in our universe, in order for our universe to be created in this space. And in order to enact the act of creation there must be the potential for change, i.e. time. God needs time in which to create the universe. The question is, who created the space and time, the universe, in which God exists. According to the logic of God-believers, it must be another god. If it's another god, outside of this god's space-time, the same applies again. Ad infinitum.
I know this is just an extension of the 'who created God?' question, but the added detail is useful.
