And the official WTS response? New light, silence, imperfect man or imperfect bird?

I'm not sure I understand what you're asking, but if you're interested in a case supporting evolution--and there is a very strong one--I'd check out www.talkorigins.org which has quite a bit of information about common misconceptions and why many religious arguments against evolution are bunk.

As time goes on more and more evidence of evolution accumulates. I'm not sure if the WTS will ever accept it. They seem to have dug themselves a rather large hole. Talkorigins is a great site, as is the talk.origins newsgroup. I'm especially interested is this topic since it was the WTS shiny blue book that taught me all I knew in the realms of science and hoodwinked me into the org.

Now that I am no longer with the religion and am questioning their creationist claims, I am finding I am having to learn about real science, which is infinitely more detailed and accurate that the JW version.

    I like these pages:

Biological evolution is a change in the genetic characteristics of a population over time. No one expects dogs to give birth to cats. It doesn't work like that at all.

These finches have evolved smaller beaks which have allowed them to adapt. Natural selection is part of evolution.

Adaption is the major part of the process. Here are some definitions:

    1) The change in life over time by adaptation, variation, over-reproduction, and differential survival/reproduction, a process referred to by Charles Darwin and Alfred Wallace as natural selection.
    2) Descent with modification.

The long-term process through which a population of organisms accumulates genetic changes that enable its members to successfully adapt to environmental conditions and to better exploit food resources.

The bird id still a bird it didnt change into a fish !!!

Is that a serious comment? Do you seriously expect a bird to evolve into a fish in 20 years? Penguins took about 50 million years. Whales are another animal that moved from land to sea, over about 20 million years.

Evolution doesn't equal no creator...once people get past that the whole world of possibilities opens to them.

Evolution is part of the truth.
