Linda,
Thanks for the update. It's good to hear from you again. I know the chemo is a tough go. As has already been said, the cancer is smaller, so consider that a battle won. You'll get this thing!

this is the first time i've been on here in about a month, though trev has been posting some days, so i've been able to keep up with everyone's news.
thankyou all so much for the well wishes you keep sending me, they all mean so much.
apart from my other problems, i've had a really painful back injury for the last few weeks, which has made it impossible for me to sit comfortably at the pc.

i've got my issues like everybody else.
good days and bad days.
ups and downs.. but there is something i can't relate to and simply will never understand.. that is:.
Sometimes, we just forget, (both the one posting, and his/her readers), that written communication requires a little more work when contraversial subjects, (such as the one's dedpoet mentioned), are being discussed. Myself included. Without the benefits of tone of voice, and facial expression, a blunt opinionated comment, can often make someone appear arrogant, even mean. Junction Guy brought up a good point about people being different "on the phone". In most cases, the "written" version of these posters hardly indicates the kind of people they really are.

i was talking to my trying-to-exit-the-cult fraternal twin brother yesterday about life, the jehovah's witness cult, and our jw parents.. he repeated, calmly and succintly, that he hates our parents.
i could not argue with him.
i used to, being a parent myself.
NGB, I know this dosen't help much, but if nothing else, remember that words like that, (from your parents), only validate the stand you made. They are nutcases, not you.

yes folks, my favorite subject apart from bwahahahahah worship.. listen to jeff beck playing - then watch him being copied a million times by a million wanabees.
this guitarist is still bending the boundaries of creativity after all these years around and about.. live at the monterrey jazz festival.
splendid stuff.. hs.
Was he on tour with Rod Stewart in '75? Rod sang lead in Beck's band in the late '60s, (before Faces), but I was unware of anything after that.

on the day i was born, this song was #1 .
"theme from 'a summer place'" by percy faith .
"Crocodile Rock", -Elton John, seriously I had to laugh at that.

at least that's what i said back in the 80's when she got pregnant.. so what did you expect?
another "i'm leaving" thread?.
go to hell and have a nice weekend, especially if you're off monday.. warlock .
I know you have this twisted sence of humor, but yeah, you got me too! Have an awsome weekend Warlock, and everyone!

Good story. You have a lot going for you, figuring it out at 19. Brave young lady.

i went to a used cd store tonight.
i was like a kid in a candy store.
they had a lot of the old records that i threw away because of a cult, now on cd.
What are these 'ceedees' you people speak of???
Ah, that sounds like a vinylphile to me....
I use a direct drive turntable, therefore I never encounter these problems.
I second that. Don't waste your money on a belt drive table. Unless you are willing to spend mega bucks for the good ones. A well designed direct drive unit, such as a Technics 1200, or Denon can be had for about $500, (US), and will outlast anything else in your stereo. This is also very important, if you plan to keep spining vinyl, as it probably won't be too long before you won't be able to buy a TT.

here is the link.
enjoy.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-2eh2c9dgxq.
I have a Speakerphone. The tones come through when you dial loud and clear when dialing.
The tones are there. I can even hear the three 0's at the end. I don't remember the whole number, but it is something like 718-xxx-6000.

general apathy about religion.. i don't know precisely when it happened.
but at some point i began to stop needing anything 'organized' in my life religiously.
not too long ago - as attested to by multiple threads i started here - i was still wishing to replace the ritual of religion at the kingdom hall with some other church.
I know what you mean, Jeff. I went through many changes very quickly after leaving the WTS, in an attempt to "figure it all out". What I learned, is no one has the truth cornered, when it comes to these things. I consider myself more of a rationalist these days, with no religious or non-religious connotations attached to the meaning of the term. It's a very good thing...
