Yep, the ends so close my mother just sent them another $100,000.00.
Just what do they need her retirement funds for if the end weeks/months away?
I WANT TO SCREAM!

think about it - never in the history of the society have there been so many changes, annoucements and campaigns than in 2006. only in 1975, could the mass hysteria of the imminent end of the world be said to equal or surpass this year's activity.. what has been the case this year?.
1) mass lay-off of hundreds of bethelites.
2) awake!

i've never quite understood the big deal about men leaving the toilet seat up but since i hear so much about it i try to comply.
i do have a pet peeve.
sometimes when i lift the seat there are obvious signs on the underside that a female has used it and not bothered to 'tidy up'.
OK, I feel like an expert consultant in this field due to the fact that I live with 3 men. I am the lone female.
Here are the problems:
No matter how hard guys try "The flow stream" tends to wander all over the place. So when you lift the lid you at least spare the spattering on the seat.
If you leave the lid up, and a girl doesn't look, (like in the dark at night) we wind up hitting the water which is shocking and sometimes painful. Similar to backing up out of your driveway, you generally assume no one is behind you..... same for girls when they come into a bathroom. We just assume the seat is down if we have other things on our minds etc. or like stated, we are in the dark.
Also, I close the top lid when I flush as the germs do spray into the air no matter who has used it. This is an established fact, so:
The most sanitary thing for all is to just close all lids before flushing which solves most probs.
I don't know as a girl that I would leave residue. I always have a package of disenfectant wipes to wipe down the toilet when I or anyone else leaves.
I do have to say, that I have cleaned and disenfected more grout, toilets, lids, and walls etc., than I care to remember due to men.........in my own house, not women! It would be great if all you guys just SAT DOWN! What's the big deal with standing is my question?
r.
somehow, i seriously doubt it.
it was spoken about when i was growing up that that was supposed to be the "loving arrangement", but i never heard, saw, or did it myself, nor did anyone else.
since i wasn't allowed out of the house, much less date until i was 16, it wasn't really an issue for me anyway.
I can see from your post you were male, which automatically gave you a little more lee-way.
You were dating at age 16? Unheard of where I came from. In fact I was told at age 13, I would not be dating until age 18, and my brothers would be in any back seats as far as my elder father was concerned. (This set in motion something the WBTS, parents, and elders could never control)
As most of you know, raised as a JW teenager we, (not all) learned to be manipulators, double life leaders and liars, just to survive.
You bet there were chaparones, my little brothers were taken everywhere. The ironic part of this story is that any where they tagged along I wouldn't have been caught dead being attracted to anyone in the party!
I can remember being at a party without my brothers, and finally met a great guy. (my now husband!) An elder who was attending (straight out of Bethel and maybe 25 years old) insisted he was going to drive me home. I told him No I already had a ride with this fellow. I believe he followed us all the way home!
Anyone in the hall who was dating had to do so in groups and were highly critisized and/or counseled if ever alone.
This was the entire 70's

can you imagine it?
they will never do it, because they know how important the mesmerizing repetition of buzz phrases has to be on young minds between spankings.
"now little unbaptized sisters and brothers, let's paint a grisly picture of all the worldly peoples' children dying at armageddon with their tongues and eyes rotting in their heads and their flesh dropping off their bones as they scream for help from their mommy and daddy.
Its funny this subject was brought up. There was a woman in my mom's hall who took it upon herself to start up a "Sunday School" (although it was not called that) for all the little witness kids. Word got out and it wound up being more like a babysitting service. Word got out further and the elders put a stop to it saying it was the individual parents' obligation to teach their own children. This took place just last year.

it started out the same, ...cleaning floors, bathrooms, kitchen, ...even got the fridge cleaned out.. the household was humming.
ran to the store to get dinner ingredients for grilling, special salad etc.. all was ok until the air went out for the 4th time this week.
called the ac guy out, he showed up within an hour.

All was OK until the air went out for the 4th time this week. Called the AC guy out, he showed up within an hour. He promptly shut us down until tomorrow morning, this was at high noon in FLa. He couldn't work on the unit outside because it was "sprinkling" and...he was scared of our new Dobes, he had just gotten bit on the A$$ by some pip squeak dog and had to have 33 stiches.
He comes to our door and I tell "My boys, the dobes" to go lay down and they respond instantly, ...this idiot is still shaking in his shoes.
What needs repairing is outside. They are nowhere near him. The unit works at night, but no dice after he got done.
In the mean time we need a fan, ....I will not go into this but due to the heat and crabiness of all concerned that didn't work out well either. (Lots of cross words, hurt feelings etc.)
So here we sit in Florida, in a sweltering 96 degree home, with open windows, growing mold as you read this, taking in roaches, mesquitos, and god knows what else into the house.
Everyone is hot, sweaty and cranky and we can barely breathe. Most homes in Fla only have one or two windows with screens and this exactly our fate. (Wish us luck overnight, will you?)
Thanks for listening...just one of those days.

here is the assignment: .
the paper and presentation should focus on how the societal views of spirituality and religion have been influenced, and how social and political life has been impacted by the selected eastern religious tradition, then compare and contrast the selected religion to at least one other studied in this course.
I am also confused as to what you are asking.
I will give you this info. While in Israel we toured the church that was built over the grave of where Christ was assumed to be buried. The most remarkable experience during the entire visit was witnessing many religious representatives actually fighting for square footage near this grave inside the church. It was absolutely laughable.
This included many different religions, with the Catholics being the most prominent, Protestants, etc. They would actually march in their garb near the assumed grave site, arms folded and butt up against the next religious group. This is all they do all day....fight for territory around the grave with arms folded across their chests.
Weird stuff.

what things happened at your meetings that annoyed you?.
was it at a hall ya visited?
did it happen more than once?.
I can remember a very poor member with four small boys and one girl for a total of 5kids and she was alone.
She would always sit near the front. If her boys got out of hand which was a given on Thursday nights, there was always a sickening march to the back for all to see with her boys held firmley by the short hairs on the top of their heads. They all had crew cuts, but she was adapt at grabbing those noggins. She kept a wooden paddle hanging on the back of the women's bathroom door.
No one ever said a word. You could hear the screaming as they were being hit. What was amazing was the perfect little boys marching back up this aisle. No heaves, or sobs. ..... you could see the pink, tear stained cheeks but never a whimper.
I would love to know where these boys are today. Probably drug addicts, in jail etc.
Dogs normally are not treated this bad, but anything was OK in the KH...Train those damn kids. Get 'em use to listening to authority.
Beat the hell out of 'em.
I was usually beat at home when I was little, either for embarassing my mother in front of a circuit or district jerk, or in earlier years my brothers misbehaved so we all got it.
Beating after beating.

i just can't believe all the trouble witness kida are having lately in my area( (vancouver b.c).
3 years ago a witness kid (18 years old) jumped off a bridge to his death.. the latest news from the jw grapevine is that a jw kid that i knew (he is now 20) is in the insane assylum.
it seems he was found swimming towards bethel from vancouver (he left a note) this was at least a 1000 miles away and he never would have made it.
This is so terribly sad. I remember trying to kill my self at age 12, filled with grief because I was so miserable at school, in the KH and at home.
There was no pleasing anyone.

i swear my mother used to keep better track of my bladder than i did.
she'd sit me down occasionally for talks such as "i noticed you've been going to the bathroom a lot during the meetings lately maybe we need to cut down on what you drink on meeting nights" etc.
others would go 2 or 3 times a meeting and if i went twice a week i'd get a talk about it!
I can remember standing in line before I actually had to go, because the wait was so long for the girls at district and circuit assemblys.
Of course the sessions were piped in as the toilets flushed. (As if anyone was listening crossing their legs to keep from peeing.)
Sick stuff.

i have adopted 2 beautiful, 120 pounds each, dobermans.. they are true gentlemen, laying quietly together in the house until the time comes to go out.. they are beautiful dogs one is 6 and one is 3; both males and are totally bonded.
when we walk on a leash it is attached and they actually walk or run like a pair of horses with me in between.
if they feel a threat they pull in front, ears and head erect.

If they feel a threat they pull in front, ears and head erect. They do not lunge or pull, but if there is direct eye contact from someone, or an approach directly there are warning barks.
These dogs are extremely loving and calm. One was trained by the police. They are very remarkable.
Just had to share this with any Dobe lovers out there.
