Yes, I met Albert Schroeder at my first assembly. One of the brothers from my hall who had been a bethelite acted like he was some kind of rock star when he asked me if I would like to meet him. He shook my hand and said " Do you believe this is the truth" of course I said yes, then he said something like " Then continue believing that it is the truth " and not to gve up. Thanks for the advice ASSHOLE. GUESS WHAT ? I GAVE UP.

by lavendar inour son, who is married to a witness, has just announced that he can no longer take part in holiday celebrations of any kind.
he is slowly being sucked into this org., and we are heart sick about it.
from what we understand, he has to purge his life of all these "horrible" things (like birthday celebrations, etc.

I hate to tell you but for now there is nothing that you can do, especially since he has a supporter who he sleeps with and loves. Sit back and bite the bullet for now and act like it is OK, this way you can possibly reason with them in the future. It will be a ride for sure. It will be no good though to reason now since it is so close. DON'T give them presents and don't invite them over even for Thanksgiving. I believe you will find comfort here on the forum and get the knowledge you need to state your case in the future. Welcome to the place you can scream out loud. , no one could tell me when I was first brainwashed. but now I am FREE , hang in there.

by Chameleon inhello everyone.. i'm an "active" jw and have been for...13 years but my faith in the jw org died about 5 years ago.. so, i've been doing the jw thing for 5 years now without believing in it.
i might be an ms soon, unfortunately.. i tried telling my parents about it but they said apostates are good with twisting words and whatnot.. they wouldn't even let me show them evidence of wt hypocrisy; however, my mother did say she found it odd that every once in a while, there's that publisher resolution of donating a certain amount a year.
there might be hope for her yet.

i honestly think anyone that spends more than half an hour per day on anti-jw sites like this is, psychologically, not out of the organisation at all, despite their best protests.
the watchtower clearly still fascinates them to the point of an obsessive, compulsive need to frequently post on this website and others.
