"But the path of the righteous ones is like the bright light that is getting lighter and lighter until the day is firmly established." Proverbs 4:18
I'm pretty sure that's it.
Of course, this scripture doesn't even mention the word 'Truth' or give any indication that it's about development of doctrine.

Whats the "rule" on shepherding calls?
by ButtLight ini dont remember that much, but arent they suppose to stop by at least once a year to df'd ones?
or did that change?.
its coming up to two years now since i was df'd, and not one elder has stopped by...........not that i want them to!.

They don't do shepherding calls often because it's more work! They already have a lot to do. I've never had a shepherding visit, even though my Dad asked them to speak to me, and I've even seen a list of young 'weak' people wrote by the elders, with each one 'assigned' two elders to speak to them. My two have never spoken to me, not even to make general conversation since I saw this list 3 months ago. I'm not complaining either though! Did you even get one Shepherding call a year when you were in the religion? 'What I find funny is that, if JW's don't go out in the field service enough or at all, they get a visit from the elders, BUT the elders don't apply that rule to themselves.' If an elder is irregular or has poor hours I believe the CO will expect an explanation during his visit.

I think it's great that you helped your friend escape. Why not just direct him to the books and sites where he can find information on his own, rather than just tell him what they say? Have you told him about this place, for example?

Last year the JWs spent 1,333,966,199 hours in the 'preaching work' That's a lot of hours. It's equivalent to 152,279 years spent preaching. However, there were just 248,327 people baptised. This means, in one years preaching, an average JW will convert just 1.6 people. Or, it takes 5371 hours preaching to make a convert. Factor the children into this, and it doesn't make good reading. They might be doing a lot of preaching, but it's hardly effective.

Active JW's on this forum
by winnie inhaving read posts over the last few months, i have come to the conclusion that there must be alot of 'active' jw's who still regularly attend meetings/field service etc.. don't you feel that by posting your many and varied topics, usually complaining/disagreeing with the wbts, that you are being hypocritical?
when you post your information, obtained sometimes in an questionable manner, doesn't it make you question your own underhanded actions?.
you converse with many on this forum who are disfellowshipped/dissasociated, yet if you knew who these ones were, face to face, you would not give them the time of day!

I think your statement that all active JWs on the board would shun anyone who is df'd or da'd face to face was a very judgemental comment, since you stated it as if it's a fact when it's absolutely not true. I think active JWs are very important in keeping people updated on the goings-on in within the religion, which can help former JWs to keep updated, and help current JWs, and also to fight against the Society.

No I wouldn't.

'Sorry I've been out of the loop lately and must have missed this news - for the sake of lazy people like me who won't go reading hundreds of pages of posts, can someone fill me in on these Distribution changes?' Hi Ozzie, As of 1st January 2008, there will be one WT printed for the public per month. This will contain NO study articles. There will be another WT printed each month, which is written purely for the JWs. This will contain all 4 study articles, and is not meant to be placed on the Service, it should be for JW eyes only. I expect they will receive the same amount of study WTs as they do KMs, and that they will be distributed in the same manner.

'Bull$h!t. I've never heard of any kind of quota.'
Nope, this is true. My Congregation is expected to have 12 auxillary pioneers in April. The Society are trying to set a new record for auxillary pioneers. -

'Will all the anointed receive their heavenly reward before the war of Armageddon? We do not know.'
This could be opening the way for some potential 'new light' as well? If all the anointed receive their reward before Armageddon, who's going to work on the GB?
