Judicial Committee Preparation
by Marvin Shilmer injudicial committee preparation.
recently a friend inquired about how to best prepare for a judicial committee hearing from the prospective of the subject individual.
at a minimum i recommend the following:.

Marvin, you said something that caught my interest. You said that your Constitutional Rights would be violated. Can you tell us what Constitutional Right that would be? I am in college now and right now, in History, are discussing the Constitution. So, can you tell us which 'right' would be violated?

Active Jw's with an advantage
by DazedAndConfused insomeone earlier (can't remember who, sorry) asked if it would be right to warn a householder about the dangers of this religion.
(paraphrased) the gist of the thread, according to my recollection, was to contact this person because they seemed to be aware, more than the average householder.
it got me thinking.

Someone earlier (can't remember who, sorry) asked if it would be right to warn a householder about the dangers of this religion. (paraphrased) The gist of the thread, according to my recollection, was to contact this person because they seemed to be aware, more than the average householder.
It got me thinking. I stated that this person had an advantage, they could write to this person annonymously. I have since thought about it and I thought the better thing to do is keep track of the addresses of those who are thinking about a study, keep track of their addresses and then send something to them stating, in a nice organised way, the fallacy's of the cult. Don't write the addresses down in front of the other people in your group, but if necessary go back later and get the address.
Nothing confrontational, just facts about the religion. As I stated in the other thread, you could send this annonymously by not adding your address on the envelope. On the other thread I stated they were in a good position to counteract some of the things brought out by the householder. Since thinking about it I thought it more effective for people to counteract those who are interested. I think it would be more secure for the one's who would like to make a difference. In this person's case, maybe the householder would remember the conversation and know that the 'other' person on the call was the one who wrote to them. This way, if written appropriatly, could look like it was written in general, not just to them because they had an experience with the JW's.
What do you think? Could this work?

I am not totally sure how this list is being organised. I sent Deb a pm/im (whatever you call it here, LOL) to cover that base. In case it is also by pm/im I would like to let it be known I would like to be on the list. I participated a few years ago and kept the cards which I hang every year. I love sending out cards. I love the feeling of sitting and sending to those I love. And I love all of you here. I don't post much, but I read all the time. Does that make me a troll? LOL.

Should I warn this householder of the danger?
by SirNose586 ini was out today and working with a well-indoctrinated brother ("brother b").
we were hitting houses with tracts then running, until we went on his call.
brother b was trying to give him an asleep and a tract, and invite him to the talk today, which was given by a bethelite (and it was a heavy indoctrination session, which is another story).

I think you have a great opportunity here. What I would do is compose something and put it into an envelope, without a return address, and send it to the house via snail mail. Think about it, you are out in service and you have the addresses right there!

Who all has been offered the new tract?
by Nosferatu inwow, i didn't think jws went out during the day anymore.
it's probably even worse than trying to find people at home on a saturday morning!.
they knocked on our door, and my wife answered.

Yes, I was offered this tract one morning. It was an older woman at the door. I told her I WAS not interested. Then I said, hold on a moment. I went and got a baggie (sandwich bag) with an Afake in it that I had put through the shredder with the intent of either taking it to the church (that's what it is, LOL) or giving it to someone who might come to the door. I told her that this was given to my nine year old grandson when he answered the door. I told her that this was forced upon him even though he told them we were not interested and I did not appreciate it at all and then closed the door in her face. I kind of felt bad since she seemed like a very nice woman but I wanted them to know how unhappy some of us are when this drivel is forced on a child. They didn't even ask for an adult!

I would suggest: Zo'o. Pronounced zo o. This is what I named my Pekingese. Imagine the disbelief I get when I go to the Vet's office. LOL. Actually, Zo' o means animal, as far as I know, in the Greek language. I also named a dog Skeelo, which I think means 'dog' in Greek. Correct me if I am wrong but when I named my beloved dogs these are the names I gave them and why. Good luck on naming the beautiful creature you have so graciously adopted.

Letter to Ritchie's Mom
by jgnat ina young man is on the verge of saying goodbye to his mother.
he's forced in to this position due by a rigid organization that punishes strength, intelligence, and individuality.
i dedicate this thread to all good thoughts about richie rich.

Dear Richie's Mom,
I want to let you know what a loving, witty, intelligent man you have brought up. I would be proud to say he were my son. I have lost 2 children, 1 of them being my only son. I just hope that you are as proud of Richie as I would be if he were mine.
What I have seen from Richie are qualities that many young men do not acquire until much later in life. You have done a great job in raising him. I applaud you for that.
Sincerely,
Dazed
