Why is Jehover's spiritual food copyrighted?
by berten inthe wts likes to put the "c in a circle" symbol on everything they publish.. but why should god's "inspired" writings have to be protected that way?.
to protect it against illegal copying?he and the wts should be pleased .
that his works are copied even more because is that not what he wants?.

ona, it is wonderful to meet up with others...I totally agree.
When I first came here it helped me a lot in my recovery. Although I will have to admit that probably my post's left a few confused at times. Since I have been here I have gone through a lot of the "grieving" steps and it sure showed in my post's. But I cannot describe how it felt to actually meet people, face to face, who experienced what I have. I married an "unbeliever" so he totally does not understand what I am feeling. In fact, he gets downright tired of hearing about this. haha. I feel that the xjw-meetup is the best idea since Simon set up this board for us.
scooter, if you and your sis are as crazy as my sis and I...that would end up being quite the meeting!

HAPPINESS----Do You NOW Have It???
by minimus insince you have been made aware of all the wrongness of watchtower, do you feel happier, more bitter or more apathetic?

I have to admit that leaving the Borg is bittersweet. For the most part...I AM SOOOOO GLAD IT IS BEHIND ME...on the other hand...I cannot say that it is something that I would say I wouldn't have wanted to happen to me. I have been sexually abused as a 4 year old...I have been married to a man who beat me on a regular basis and tried to kill me on many occasions. I say that I am not sad that any one of these things happened to me. You know why? Because I believe it is the sum total of our experiences in the past that makes us who we are today. Am I 100% happy with what I do at every moment?,,,, no, but I do know, that at this point in life, I am more prepared than ever to face the consequences of my actions.
While I was in the Borg I was so "sheltered", "pampered", "isolated"...etc. I would have never known how to grow from my experiences. Now I am open to learn. I may not always be receptive, but I am more willing to learn. While being "controlled" I never had that option before.
As for "Happiness--Do you have it now???" I would have to say that more than ever before in my life...I am happy. Sure there are problems that life itself throws at you but it depends upon how you deal with them individually that makes the person who you are.
Edited for spelling and sentance structure.

I went to the x-jw meet-up tonight. I almost decided not to go. Boy am I glad I did decide to go. I will not name names here...but I had a wonderful night! First we met at a "neutral" location...a bowling alley. Surprisingly enough, the 2 women of the 5 who showed up, actually bowled. I sooo enjoyed my evening. I met 4 people tonight, varying degrees of "connection", but at the same time...feel that this was a great experience in my life. First off, I met 3 (make that 4, after our visit to a bar) people who were ex-witlesses. Then one of the ex's brought along his wife (never a witless) who herself is also going through the same thing we are, to some degree the same thing we are from her own background. Then, one of the people who showed up, knew a young woman who played in a band. We then left our meeting place and then went to where this young woman was playing.
Wow, so many emotions here. This young woman was beyond comprehension, THE most beautiful singer I have ever heard. She was the best.
Everyone left and I was left alone listening to this "Goddess" of voice. But I could not leave until I told her how I felt about her singing.
I am so looking forward to meeting these same people here in my city, and hope that it brings more experiences my way.
To all of you who met me in Tucson, AZ...my hat is off to you....you made my night...weekend...hell, my life! Thank you.

Salem Witchhunts? JW Child Abuse? Same/Different?
by dungbeetle inin response to happytwit's inane ramblings...(are you ever sober anyway?

dungbeetle, you stated: {QUOTE] In response to HappyTwit's inane ramblings...(are you EVER sober anyway?) [/quote]
Is this necessary? Granted, I am up for debates...but I sure do hate it when "in a debate" personal attacks are the norm. Why not just go one on one?...or even "challenge"?, but why do we have to sink to the level of personal attacks like this?
For me, when a thread starts like this, I get right out of it (usually). I see no need to attack another's character, I do however, appreciate a good "debating".

Facial Hair Poll
by LittleToe inthe background to this thread is that i love wearing (?
) a beard, but my wife hates it.
i've changed my profile pic to reflect four states of facial hairiness (if it doesn't show, hit "refresh" on your browser).. i'm interested in your opinions.

DazedAndConfused
I like #2 & #4. Definately NOT #1. Although you are a good looking man, I think that a tad bit of facial hair is a good thing for most men. When I met my husband he had no facial hair. I got him to grow a mustache and then a full beard (well trimmed, of course). I love facial hair on a man!

Fake 'hovahs
by TR inother discussions about the cost of wt rags reminded me of something.. several years ago, late eighties, while i was out selling, er placing witchtower and afake!
rags door to door, i encountered a householder(i hate that frickin' word) that had an interesting observation.
she said, "oh, you people were just here, and i bought some magazines".

DazedAndConfused
Anybody here ever heard of a return visit?
That is too funny! I did not think of that.
I thought of someone picking up the rags from the laundromat and selling them...never thought about return visits...or even that a bona fide witless would charge DOUBLE for the rags. What a hoot!!!

is the WTBTS the False Prophet??
by 67mustang in.
i was wondering if anybody thinks the wtbts is possibly the "false prophet" of revelation???.
please comment.
-
DazedAndConfused
I don't personally think that the WTBTS is "THE" "false prophet" foretold in Revelation. I think that they are part of Babylon the Great. I feel that as a collective they are what was foretold...but I do not believe that they are the sole "false prophet".

it came into my hotmail box, showed to be 127k, and seemed to not have anything in the body.. also, something from a "jcmachisslop" titled w32.elkern virus remover, with a link to mcaffee supposedly pointing me to a tool to get rid of said virus.. i did not get an immediate virus notification, but i am curious, perhaps someone trying to "ping' me?.

vivamus,
now you've made me feel as if I have entered a war zone!
There you have it. I have been coming to this board for many months and I have seen where people are being "attacked" at times where the WTBTS is being attacked for things that it appears that they cannot get out of. At least in thier own small minds.
Like I said to hubby today "If only they would own up to their mistakes. Look at the Catholics...at least they are coming out and saying what they did was wrong and they are open and upfront with it.."
Instead, these leaches, choose "theocratic warfare". They choose to try and mess with our computer's...now that they cannot mess with our minds.
They say that ignorance is bliss....well these ignorant ones will not be in bliss for much longer. With the advent of the internet, they are losing a battle and are too ignorant to realise that the general population is smarter than the ones they control!
