firstly talking respecfully to my mum got further than shouting so now the last ideas.... firstly i e-mailed the british musuem, ask about their tours, information on things they have on the site and all that.
this will enable me to take mum there and show her the truth.. secondly and finally i've decided i want to contact the united nations.
OH and the oddest thing, i prayed that mum wouldn't go to the meeting on the Sunday and guess what?! There she was sat downstairs and we had a huge chat about JW's
XD!!! I had to laugh at that one.
Well done, but tread lightly....the scariest thing for you to do right now is to free a JW's mind so abruptly. Take it slow. It will be fine.

Now, to celebrate your new path in life, go get some new clothes, a new hairstyle, grow/shave your facial hair, basically anything that gives you a physical change. It will make you feel like you're on a new path!
That's funny, considering that I had lost 15lbs now over this. I wear smaller clothes, brighter clothes. And I'm growing my hair longer now. I feel better about what happened...she did me a favor.

but I found out that he never left where he was coming from. So the joke was on me the whole time. Although I must say that I acted a little ridiculously. ok, so i'm at the dentist this afternoon - nothing major, just something i've been putting off for a while - and the dental assistant is doing her thing with my teeth - my mouth is wired open (i think i was able to tune into radio transmissions for a while) - and i've got my eyes closed, my glasses off, trying to relax in the chair, while listening to the piped in muzak.. suddenly, i can tell she's really getting into her work - she's leaning against my face and getting quite vigorous about whatever she's doing to my tooth.
then it dawned on me.... ummm... hello.... your breast is in my eye!!!
except my mouth is frozen and wired so that all that's coming out is unintelligible garble... and drool (from being wired open, not because it's the least bit "interesting").. so i'm thinking to myself, if i push her away from my face, she looks the type that would clock me for sexually harassing her... if i say anything to her about it, she'll be embarrassed and might screw up my tooth... if i wait a couple more minutes, she'll be done and i might have an interesting story to share with mr scully... finally, it occurs to me that they said i could give them a signal to stop what they are doing.
"Did her breast touch your eye or brush the eye?" "Was it her left or right breast?" "Did you touch the breast?" "Did you have an orgasm when the breast made contact?" "Do you dream about the breast now that you're not in the chair?"

it made me realize one thing about their organization.
what your place is among them.
What makes them and the various local Elders so special? Considering all of the problems that have surfaced and has come to light, everyone should demand to see the qualifications and the PROOF of such placement in leadership from GOD.
what makes them so special?? Well, according to THEIR bible they can point to any specific scripture and justify ANYTHING. Plus everyone is too weighed down with their own anxieties, and fear to demand proof, imho.They sum it up to holy spirit,and you HAVE to accept it if you want to stay in the collective. To be a fellow lamb.

i think there's been a thread on this before, but i figured i'd ask again.. for all of the ubms out there, why is it that we love witnesses??
what is it about them that we find so attractive??
why are we putting ourselves through this mess when we know full-well that there are lots of non-jws out there who would be better for us??.
I think he's finally seeing that there's a fun and exciting world out there and now that he has someone to share it with, he wants to get out and see everything. Sometimes, when I think about it, I think that we're both helping each other grow in different ways.I think that we're both very immature and inexperienced, but at least for now, we're both growing together, learning new things, seeing new sides of each other, it's nice. And I think, in a way, that's what we both need, someone to grow up with, someone to help us figure out who we are...
And that's the thing that i wanted those that are lurking and are in a relationship with those on the outside to understand. There is infinite possibilities in a relationship with no rules and conditions to strictly to abide by. Foer them to let go, and not be afraid to step outside of that box that they've been poking holes in to see on the outside of all this time. They need to understand how it feels to the other person when they see all this before their eyes.
The good thing is that you accepted him for how he is, even though he is inactive and not baptised.The base foundation is that you love him and desire to make it work. Grow together and not apart. Even though there will be hard times and he will get pin pricks because that's just how it is regarding this belief; you know that he loves you.
And you love him.

discourage common sense and critical thinking!! You are not suppose to think for yourself. The Elders will do it for you! Just do as you are told!
Discourage it, draw a line in the sand over how much to think about it. Hence the comparasion of us as "sheep".
When they tell us "patience is salvation" according to their dogma, I boil, I climb into the red zone. We've experience this on many fronts, but at the same time the collective excuses this and say they will get their just dues, and not to worry.
so we wait....and wait....
But they always go back to the days of Noah right?

i was wondering what the watchtower thought about first aid courses as i've just completed a course run by st john's ambulance and when i told my friend who is an active jw she didn't seem too impressed.
Welcome to the forum!
They don't really frown upon such things, in fact they like that. Since they would be tempted to use you in the first aid department at conventions which was what I used to do long ago when I was deeply involved with them. You get to see so much stuff behind the scenes.
