I drive a VW TDI. It's a desiel engine and i get about 45mpg. I am considering switching to biodesiel, it's renewable and i could make it after some investment in materials. Also rumor has it that several commerical biodesiel pumps should be open in my area soon.

I am a milieage victim!
by free2beme ini would love to have a vehicle that got 30 miles or more to the gallon.
unfortunetly i have to toe things, like a boat, and that requires a truck.
so i purchased a dodge truck, with a deisel engine, and i get a thrill out of 14-16 mpg.

non-information
by DannyBloem inwhat was/is one of the most annoying things for me at the meetings, was the amount of non-information that the watchtower gives.. it is like rading the entire wt or whatever book and all that they basically say is like: preach more, or whatever.. when you look at the (mirrors of) the quotes site, you see very few interesting quotes of the last 25 years or so.
just because they basically do not say anything at all.
do you feel the same way?

Even among some of the R&F it is a joke. When my family asks about what a meeting or watchtower was about we always reply "God's kingdom." or "Jehovah."

Are you paranoid about posting?
by wombat inpoor jwfacts got sprung when the jw trawlers were able to join the dots.. no, that's wrong - they knew it was him but it took something else for them to be able to prove it.. i am not game to post a bio about myself.
my jw siblings are very litigious.
one even sued another jw for libel.

Atheism: Is it the created and controlled opposition to Jehovah's Witness?
by Rig Boy ini will lead the reader to first observe a model of the hegelian dialectic which is a key psychological entrapment of the powers that be.
the dialectic takes this trilateral 'managed conflict' process one step further.
then the process starts all over again: thesis vs. antithesis results in synthesis.

Anyone claiming to have to whole truth has an agenda. Whether about the illuminati or about God. The next person that starts mailing me checks is the one i'll serve. I aggree with Mr. Stock, read Ayn Rand.

Thinking of leaving? Do you have a good Reputation?
by M*A*S*H ini've had an idea, a cruel and malicious idea.
want to hear it?
well, what i'm hoping is we can find someone who's thinking of leaving the jw's, has a relatively good standing in the congo and is a good actor.

Nice!! I am planning a tattoo here pretty soon as well.. One over my heart with a lightening bolt that says, "Caution, Caution Caution, to prevent electric shock, do not remove over. No user serviceable parts inside, refer servicing to qualified service personell." (it's from a magnetic fields song.) ALso considering one on my but cheek that says, "One way traffic do not enter...Exit only"

The Watchtower Study: The one way to make your views publicly known
by sir82 inas most of us here are aware, the watchtower "study" weekly meeting is no "study" at all.
paragraphs are read, pre-arranged questions are asked, and the "correct" answer is a slight re-wording of the sentences in the paragraph.. however, sometimes (many times?
depending on the congregation), members could use the study as a way to publicly air their opinions on a variety of topics, without fear of interruption (so long as the answer was couched in enough "theocratese").

I always hated that. I usually go out of my way to make that person feel better, unless their snobby. I also wink at dissfellowshipped people.. probably going to get me into trouble.

when you go to a jw convention and then go to a casino the same night.

You wash your face and hands, brush your teeth and chew gum before meetings and before coming home so that no one knows that you smoked today.
You suck on your papercut.
You suprise your wife by waking her with oral sex.

If...
by Narkissos ini was thinking of an approximate reversal of force's thread (http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/14/105552/1.ashx):.
if something happened which proved beyond any doubt that god (or gods) cannot exist, silencing forever all claims for realistic belief in an objective divinity, shattering even the uncertainty of agnosticism, would you start being interested in theology?.
i don't mean to discuss the probability of the assumption: it is very unlikely.

God can't exist because of the babel fish remember?
God says, I refuse to prove i exist because proof denies faith and without faith i am nothing.
Man says, But what about the babel fish, i mean thats pretty much a dead giveaway isn't it?
God says, Oh yea. And dissapears into a puff of logic.
Then man proves black is white and gets killed in the next zebra crossing.

Pre Armageddon Preparation.
by Clam inare there jws who prepare for the tribulations they assume are around the corner?
when i visted the us once in 1999 i met a few guys who were expecting a global meltdown due to the millenium bug.. as a consequence they had generators, guns, ammo, tins of food, bottled water, fuel, all kinds of stuff to help them through a civil disorder situation.
does anyone know or remember any jws who have prepared like this?

I have met one Jw who prepared like that. No guns or ammo, but food water tents etc.. He was pretty secretive about his stash.. Didn't want to appear to lack faith.
