bizzybee- what do you mean, a rat?
Uhhh.....never mind..........my morning meds hadn't kicked in yet.
Hey, BTW, how old are you and Mr. Wonderful? I think that has a bearing here.
i am new to the jw world, not one, but do love one.
met a man who down to the tee is amazing.
he is a great man, the only thing i am not so sure about is his "religious" beliefs.

the jw world is so full of weirdness i don't want any part of it anymore .
but i got a bit sucked in... this morning i got a phone call from a woman that has studied and attended meetings for over three years .
her mental stability and smoking has always kept her from progressing very far .
Sounds like she is a gigantic black hole of need. I try to avoid these time-sucks. Black holes can never be filled.
i just read the july 2006 awake today.
what a bunch of drivel.
there is about 4 pages telling young persons to work in bethel or to go where the need is great or to enter full time pioneer service.
If they had pushed College Education and University. They could have had JW doctors able to do bloodless surgery
Perhaps. But I think higher education would lead to the development of critical thinking skills, which would in turn lead to questioning the WTS beliefs, which would lead to leaving such a moronic and dishonest organization. End result? Damn few JW doctors - or any other highly educated JW professionals.
i was born into a jw family.
my father's parents were jw.
my mother?s family was a big mix.
Well done, AgentSmith! Thanks for sharing your story - very well-written, too. We look forward to hearing more from you.

I smell a rat, but shall press on.........(remember I said that).............
Other than devoting a whole lot of time to understanding their beliefs, is their an easier way to find this info out?
Yes. Rather than devote a lot of your precious time finding out about the beliefs of your fiance that will dictate the shape of the rest yof your life and your childrens' lives - just go ahead and marry him. You'll get a quick education, but then of course, it will be too late.
Also, he doesn't sound like he's for real - JWs are cautioned endlessly about not even associating with unbelievers, and here he is dating one and contemplating marriage with one? Not that this never happens, but it sounds suspiciously calculating. He is either (1)on his way out of the cult or (2) he is planning for you to get into it. The only other possibility is that (3) he is amazingly short-sighted - after all, he knows more about what you're getting into than you do. I can't imagine anyone who loves someone putting them through that.
(I still smell a rat)
less than 1% of people in america are jw's.
now imagine if 10 or 20% of people became jw's.
could the watchtower handle the numbers?.
I agree with your projections. But I don't think they are in any eminent danger of any big increases.
my brother and i had good harmony.
i played lead and i'd sing but i preferred just to play lead.. .
this was about 1967. i was about 23. i still have the jazz and the fender amp.
Hey, your wife was a cutie, but you know that. Sorry that so many bad experiences are mixed in with the good, but that seems to be the Jehovah way.

How can anyone not feel absolutely great about this outcome? Good for her! Instead of being dead, she triumphed over evil.
do you use it anymore?
do you care?
do you cringe when you hear it?
I still think that the things that God considers important like, "I really want you to do this and if you don't I might kill you" that he will communicate to us CLEARLY. If not, he must know that we are in the dark. Using His name is one example. It isn't clear what He wants!
i work in an environment at work that is a mix of adult ranging in age from 18-50. there are 300 plus people in the building, and that means you get a lot of soap operas happening from people sleeping with other people's girlfriends, boyfriends and even people cheating on their spouses with people they work with.
among the bunch is a large group of people who spend a lot of time passing themselves around, and sampling many sexual partners.
of the people who i know, i have often found that many do not seem as happy as one might think.
Genesis - you are talking about relationships - not promiscuity. Promiscuity is kind of the opposite of a relationship.
IMHO, at 20 years old, it is generally a good idea to meet and get to know other people before settling down with one.
