dont know if this has been discussed or not...but.... it always bothered me when people claimed that god is all knowing... what exactly does that really mean or can mean?.
after all, according to all, there was some point when only god existed and so its pretty easy to be all knowing when there is nothing to know.. but why should we assume that a being who had no one teach him and nothing to learn from could be anything but insane?.
we should trust god, some have told me, because he made everything and therefore knows everything about what he made... sorry, but that does not follow at all.. my subconscious, apparently, seems to be able to manifest many dreams of very complex things which leaves me puzzled as to their workings not understanding them at all..... the bible shows god to be less than all knowing on many occasions, especially in genesis 18:20-21 where he is going to investigate a report that has come to him.... from where or who we are not told.... but it makes it clear he is desiring to find out if the report is accurate or not... .
I chose the LDS Church for a lot of reasons, but the chief reason is that I felt God more strongly from LDS people than at other churches.

Seriously, what you are saying is that you feel that you cannot experience God without the context of an organized religion. Sad. You can take the Elderbarry out of the WTS, but you can't take the WTS out of the Elderbarry.

This has got to be the single most frequently asked question by JW's when someone leaves the organization. A complete analysis of this respoonse would take more time and smarts than I have available. But it is interesting because it reveals so much about the mindset of those in the org. Linear thinkers, looking for certainty, uncomfortable with the unanswerable, and unable or unwilling to look between their ears, afraid of what they might find there or of what they night not find.
It reminds me of Michelangelo's description of sculpting David out of 900 tons of marble: "I simply removed everything that wasn't David."
In the search for God, the WTS is one of the pieces that isn't.

Barry, I have no problem with your theism whatsoever. However, I do have a problem, as many here do, with being preached at - the foaming at the mouth is all but palpable. Of all people, ex-JWs have had a belly-ful of that and I, for one, am always surprised when some zealot tries to put on the WTS coat inside-out and lead the charge off a cliff. (Might be mixing some metaphors here, but you get my drift.)
As for the Mormons - I saw a documentary a few years ago that illustrated their beliefs and I had nightmares and cold sweats for months! True story.
Let people leave the JWs and find their own way - for some it is atheism, for some politics (or anti-politics), crocheting, lifting weights, whittling tiny figures out of wood - but, it is highly presumptuous to try to lead the way to another demented, controlling, asinine evil cult.

actually it seemed simple enough and i thought it would be a snap to do.. i was wrong.. the problem is it looks fine in the oven.
When my cakes turn out like that, I chop them up and put them in a large bowl and make a trifle.Me, too, Scully. Or if the cake breaks apart when turning it out of the bake pan. Waste not.............
