Have had a good evening with BF - after a few dicey days - oh, yes, clean sheets and vacuumed carpet, too. Reasonably nice meal, considering that we are changing eating habits due to him being pre-diabetes. Also, they want another look on my mammogram tomorrow - listen, folks, enjoy these moments - we know not what lies just around the corner. Everything is temporary - believe me.

Moments of ahhh

between my hair (which is very long) and my cat's hair (which is long) and a messy boyfriend, my condo gets out of control dirty.
there are times when i have to tear it apart to clean it because it feels yucky.

Did abortion lower the crime rate?
by free2beme ini was watching a news program the other day, and they were using the idea that abortion has been a huge reason why crime has gone down.
these are the reasons they said.. 1. crime in large cities started decreasing in the 1990's, roughly about 16-18 years after abortion was made legal.. 2. crime is often done by people between the ages of 16-24.
3. abortion drops the rate and number of unwanted children being born to single mothers, or to people who do not care about them.

Don't ya' just love manipulating statistics? There are so many variables that impact the crime rate, it is somewhat naive to attribute a single cause to a single effect. Having said that, Freakonomics was a really good read and probably accurate in many of its conclusions. The conclusion here is that people who want abortions should have them - otherwise unwanted children are the result. And unwanted children are usually neglected and abused. And children who are neglected and abused often turn to crime. And the cycle is repeated from generation to generation. -
