Why love God?

Thanks gopher, maybe now i will finally be able to find a quote! This is kinda off topic, but if you believe the entire Bible thing, then it says God created man in his image.....so if he looks like a woman or somethin else, then adam was one HAIRY woman......

Question: Did Adam and Eve have belly buttons? I wonder how many pictures have them drawn with such?

Also, the entire "Man's suffering is due to man, and man making the wrong choices," is BS. In the Bible, God has made tons of people suffer simply because they don't believe what "God" wants them to believe, and to me, it sounds as if he's a two year old with all the powers of the universe. Only an immature little baby would get all pissed of when somebody has their own opinion about something. I THINK SEX BEFORE MARRIAGE IS OKAY! I think being violent in ANY way is wrong, yet God, although supposedly "hating" violence, has used it MANY times. If it is this thinking that causes suffering, then I will immediately stop, my eyes will become glazed over with the passion of serving the almighty, and when the appointed time comes i will go on a killing spree on everybody who believes differently than God wants.....

I love God because he promised Moses he would live in the promised lands, then didn't let him. I love God because he's so immature (according to most religion's understanding), that he requires our worship instead of just living out our lives.

If I were God, i would want to see my creation LIVE, not spend all their time suffering and being bored to death in some church. if i die, and God asks me why i have said these things, i will ask why he's let millions suffer, and why he gave us the right to free thought and then took away our right to use it. If i ever do love a God, it won't be the one from the Bible, I know that much.

Anti-watchtower magazine company

i was thinkin the other day, it's a damn shame nobody has started a nationwide magazine company producing a magazine that picks out all of the watchtower's flaws, and that is brought door to door on saturday mornings to show jw's for the asses they are.

i would be the first one in line to get the latest copies.

i betcha it'd tear down the whole jw structure....too bad, some dreams are only that..... "no cool quote yet, but i'll think of one soon.

there are many things we as humans don't understand. Let people scoff, but there will always be subject lacking explanation, and there will always be people trying to conjure the explanation up. For God's sakes, if you don't understand something, just let it go!

P.S. I dunno if i believe in telekinesis, but i do believe in keeping an open mind about things. ;-)

Stretchmarks....uggh....

unfortunatey, i've been cursed with stretchmarks, and i've had them since before i started lifting (since about 13).

i've tried everything from cocoa butter to vitamin e oil, nothing makes them go away.

I've tried everything from cocoa butter to vitamin e oil, nothing makes them go away. they aren't even getting lighter or less noticeable. I can't even take my shirt off in front of people it's so embarassing. Does anybody know any other techniques to get rid of them? Does tanning cover them pretty well? I just wanna be confident. :(

What happened to the fish in the great flood?

now if the world was covered in water was it salt water or fresh water and how did all the fish survive who were not adapted to the other type of water?

23 And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark.

The word earth here i'm sure could mean all the land in that area. So, in other words, the passage would read "..and all flesh died that moved upon the land..." Earth and land are interchangeable, unless a Bible scholar can reveal that the direct translation in this part of the Bible means the earth as in the whole wide world. I'm 16, so don't yell at me.

we have all heard all the crap about 666, now does anyone have any conjecture or idea about 616?

i have only heard of one possible conclusion to this so far.

616 is generaly found in the oldest manuscripts.

if there is one thing this message board lacks, it is jw's to debate with, and i appreciate your posting here.

it is always fun to look at the other side of things again, and allow my brain to question the decisions i've made.. .

My other part of the post is this question: God blessed us with a free mind. The ability to reason. The ability to make our own decisions. Of course, JW's believe we will be punished if we exercise our right to believe something else, but that is not the point i'm going to make. My question is, how can anybody not realize that those who are "strong" in their religion have, in fact, just closed their mind off to all other reason?

Churches exalt those who continue on in the religion, ignoring anything but their own beliefs. I remember as a witness, i felt good not believing anything but what i was taught, and holding firm to it. I pose this question to all who are on this message board:

Is it better to hold firm to a belief we are taught, to be strong and unchanged, or to have an open mind and constantly be changing our beliefs as we retain more information?

To answer this question, imagine their is no middle ground, since the former part of the question is so far to the right of the scale, the latter must be exaggerated in order to maintain balance. Can't wait to hear your replies.

I personally try to look at both sides of a subject no matter what, but unfortunately i have trouble changing my beliefs even when i do look at both sides of a topic. This is something i will try to overcome in the future.

P.S. Yes, i was trying to sound intelligent in this post, so if a certain part of it doesn't make sense, blame my failed attempt at greatness. ;-)

Is the kiling of people in war justifiable to you?

how do you feel about the killing of people in war ?especially those who do not share you ideals and there fore may encroach on your rights if they had authority over you?.

most of us having been witnesses would have justified opposers of god dying at armageddon because we believed they if left alive would ruin life for everyone else.. so if a political party or another nation gained power other you country that acted contrary to your beliefs to such a degree you though they would ruin or life or life style would you kill them in war?
