As far as the judical committe thing AuldSoul, I agree 100%. To take that scripture that "he should be treated as a man of the nations and a tax collector". Didn't Jesus eat with Tax collectors? Humm maybe the WTS should rethink this one.

Where does it have a place to use an alias? Seems like it wants to use my real name.

Does your JW baptism still mean anything to you?
by JH in.
all i know is that jesus said to get baptized.
he didn't say in what religion though.. although i don't go to meetings anymore and don't plan on going anymore, i'm still glad that i was baptized.

Knowing what I know now I will have to say it means nothing. Considering that I was 14 when I got baptized and did it because everyone else in the congo was doing it. I can remember the brother asking the question if we have repented of our sins, I was still sinning at the time, felt bad but took the dunk anyway.

Studies In The Scriptures... any difference?
by Bryan inis there any difference between the printed years (different editions) for the studies in the scriptures series, other than the covers?
and to me it looks like rutherford was the one who put the winged globe on the cover, is that correct?

Blondie good post. The Society has from the very beginning changed from edition to edition trying to hide their past. It always seems to come back to haunt them.

WTS view of Red Cross, etc
by blindersoff inhttp://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/105666/1.ashx .
"this is probably the one organization you will see that will see this project to the end," farrow said.
(seems somewhat arrogant).

Where's the WTS when there is a disaster? or like they say even a small one. They are just as guilty if not more so for not helping with all their $$$$$$. They talk a good game though, saying how they do a life saving work by their preaching work. I never seen anyone who is in real need eat a Watchtower magazine? Then they only help witnesses FIRST., then they give the leftovers to others or hospitals as seen in the Japan earthquake vidio ( I forgot the title, I think it was Whole Association of brothers or something like that ). So I guess they don't care if the rest of the people were dying right next door to a witness. My brother comes first.

Some questions about Michael Jackson
by Lady Lee ini don't know what was up with me this morning.
i was woken up with a tractor outside my window so i haven't slept well.
but while waiting for this tractor to disappear i was doing some thinking.. some people have heard of body dysmorphic disorder.

(and don't we all know that the WTS is far more interested in the outside than what is on the inside).
I'd only have to wonder how much $$$$$ Micheal may have "Donated" over the years????

why cant you just leave???
by kid-A inwhat always strikes here on jwd is the number of posters who completely and entirely doubt the jw theology, reject the majority of the teachings and "rules", express their boredom and frustration at having to attend meetings and conventions and yet, still, continue to keep up the facade of attending the meetings, going out in service, essentially choosing to 'live a lie'...... now, i understand fully the complications around leaving such an organization especially concerning family, but, for gods sake people, it would take the most extreme, extraordinary circumstances to keep somebody inside a duplicitous, controlling cult when at any time, you do have the freedom to just walk away.......we are all free moral agents capable of escaping the wts so i humbly ask, .
1) how and why do you keep up the facade?
do your circumstances really justify lying to yourself and family?.

Despite all this "Light" i've been receiving, there is still a part of me that really just wants to forget about JWD and just live the rest of my life as a JW. I've met ministerial servants and elders on this board who know everything thats wrong with the WTS and still refuse to leave. I dont know about you guys, but 3 hours a week of field service and 5 hours a week of meetings really means nothing to me. I can honestly see myself becoming an elder one day and not believing a word i spew out in the service meeting and not feel any moral obligation to anyone.
Ask yourself a question , if you could give a group of people a false sense of hope and happiness in an otherwise lackluster and mediocre existence, wouldnt you do it?
If you did this then you would be living a lie. You would be as fake as the Relgion itself. There is a word for this: Hypocrite.

Circuit Overseer Celebrities?
by Delboy222 ini am a active jw, but one question i would like to know is why do these 'men' get treated as superstar celebrities when they attend the congregation?.
for as long as i can remember, there seems to be a 'buzz of excitement' when it is announced that he and his wife are due to visit.
what is so special about them?.
-

People get excited because they like to look to men as their leaders instead of God
Welcome to the forum!!!!!! You're right Drew, Most witnesses look to men. They put on heirs trying to make themselves look good. Guess they think these guys are next to Jesus visiting them. Its always a numbers game. Because these men will be looking at all the publishers cards, the R/F get nervous. Its so hypocritical.

Should Jehovers Witnesses use Heinz 57 products?
by Elsewhere inthe other night i was listening to npr on the radio while driving home and i heard a very interesting piece of information... the "57" in the heinz 57 brand came from occult sources!
the container says "heinz 57 varieties" but the number was never meant to literally mean they had 57 varieties of products, instead the numbers 5 and 7 have occult meaning.. i looked around on the internet and found these articles:.

As far as the 57 ketchup, you cannot have it in its present form. It has to be broken down into fractions. lol lol.
