i am half way through the book and am finding some surprising information.

i was always told that the gb met on wed. and prayed before considering their decisions on things, but was i surprised that different ones were given the assignments and to use if they wanted other "worldly" written things and then were off on their own to work independantly or w/another to come up w/the book, etc.. also, the malawi and mexico difference in treatment.

Juni, this did it for me. Just read my profile. I have asked 3 people about the Mexican scam and to date none of them has replied to me. It has been well over a year. One of them was my PO. Another was my own sister, who hasn't talked to me since. I devoured that book in 2 days. Then went on to really enjoy the follow up "In Search of Christian Freedom". I think I came to the conclusion early on in COC that this wasn't the "Truth".

Newly Annointed - Any stories ?

hey....anyone got any interesting stories about someone who woke up one morning with the sudden knowledge that they were one of the annointed ?.

i recall an elderly sister who was a sandwich short in the lunch box who insisted on partaking at the memorial.

it really pissed everyone off but no-one could say a word, of course.. wombat

If you read the NT, you can tell that some of those people had serious problems, yet they were still anointed.

in a boe letter dated 2/2/06, the wts listed four special campaigns for 2006:memorial, wed apr 12, 2006 (in a boe letter dated 2/3/06 wts wants elders to help all inactive & new ones attend the memorial.

the letter said attending the memorial is often a stepping stone to serving jehovah...visit every inactive person in the territory and give an invitation, give every family member that is friendly to the message an invitation).special public talk, sun apr 30, 2006special handbill to advertise district convention - wts is printing handbills to advertise the "deliverance at hand" district convention.

three weeks before the convention, jws will distribute the handbill in the territory, with family members, and others.

i just stumbled on this site today, and am i ever glad i did!!!

i was raised as a witness, my mom being a witness and my dad a non believer.

growing up i never wanted to follow all the rules, and often broke them behind my mothers back.

Welcome to the board.

I think I am in sort of a spiritual limbo right now. I still believe in God for I believe there is too much complexity to the whole universe for it to be just an accident. As for truth, I guess I will have to search further for it now that I know the JW's don't have it.
