I believe the hight cost of doing "field service" will drive many to report more than the usual number of fake hours! I know of JW's in my area who are complaining about the high cost of travel to/from the KH, let alone weekly "field service." Hopefully this cuts down some of the weekly dose of "spiritual food," enough to let honest hearted ones to break free!

another life gone
by darth frosty inthis past thurs a young brother ended his life.
in writing he stated that he could not live up to the demands placed on him.
i am quite sure that all the local witnesses will hear about this and think what they are programed to think: we need the new system.

This is so sad darth frosty! I knew of a congregation in Ohio, where 7 young people killed themselves over a 5 year period! Included was my girlfriend! All these committed suicide for the very reasons you list. They couldn’t live up to the expectations of the WT! When people question the existence of God and Jesus, to me, I have little doubt in the existence of a “devil” in that the evidence is there when considering the caustic poison from WT "devil" that is killing young people around the word! Thank you for sharing this. This has spurred me on to work even harder to get people out of this satanic cult!

I am a little bit confused.
by Stealth453 injr brown said in response to this question, "so neither the volunteer workers nor the leadership itself of the jehovah'w witness church professes to be spirit-inspired or directed or what not?
", "no, no, we don't have anybody that expects that".. yet, one of the 2 pre baptism questions is;.
do you understand that your dedication and baptism identify you as one of jehovah's witnesses in association with god's spirit directed organization?
-
cyberguy
Stealth453, you are NOT confused! JR Brown lied! (Or rather, he spun the JW “truth” so hard that it ended-up as truth.) Yes their baptism question belies the real “truth” behind their “organization.”

I helped several friends of mine, and one of them was an elder at the time. It was hard for the elder to accept it at first, but after he researched WT literature, he concluded that what I had shown him was correct. I found that strictly using WT literature at first is the best approach. Also, it was necessary to help him see what the WT really teaches on a subject, because most JW’s simply do not understand WT teachings. It is impossible to refute sometime otherwise.
One scripture I really like to use is Matt. 28:18, where Jesus says “All authority has been given me in heaven and on the earth.” Before sharing I briefly review exactly what JW’s understand happened in 1914. Then we read this scripture, and ask if they knew that WT says this is only a “promise” and that Jesus had to wait until 1914 before this was fulfilled. (You can share what is in the “Require” brochure to back this point up.) At this junction you’ll find out just what kind of person you’re talking to. Also I try and leave just this one thought, but will continue the conversation at a later time if they want more. This is really a revelation for most JW’s and I found that removing the scales off a person’s eyes takes time.
I wish you the best on you Journey!

Two Visits From Jehovah's Witnesses This Past Week
by TMS inmy wife and i were both on ladders painting the exposed boards of our storage shed on a weekday when a car pulled into the driveway across the street.
mr. and mrs. gomez were not at home.
like most of the homeowners in this community, they use these homes only on weekends or holidays.

TMS, thanks for sharing that experience. Very interesting. It has given me some new ideas of how to witness to a witness when they come by.

Help! My "devout" JW's mom is "pioneering" at age 76 on a cane.
by booker-t inposters i have tried "everything" to show my mom that the wts is full of beans but she just won't budge.
i have heard through some non-jw's relatives that my mom who is 76 years old and having alot of problems with her knee is pioneering.
i am so worried about her standing in front of the donut shop or supermarket at 6:00 am.

Brooker-t, you should be worried!
I’ve seen older JW’s increase their hours, only to fall over dead from a heart attack shortly after! So much for “increased activity!” And do the bustards in Brooklyn care about this? HELL NO! So yes, I’d be very worried! I’m not sure how much you can do to help your mom, but perhaps you can her see that the center piece of “love” is totally missing from this group that claims that are the only Christians on earth. I wish you the best!

Update! Attending Sunday Meeting and Loving it!
by drew sagan inyep that's right folks, yours truely has actually been attending the sunday meeting.
many will ask, why in the hell would you ever do that?
well, developments going on in my world have led me to this decision.

Hey Drew, that was wonderful! However, after the meeting was over did anyone say anything about your comment? And how did the WT conductor react? Did he say anything?

I cannot beleive i am an " apostate"
by sspo inmy hell is just beginning, 26 years of marriage, almost divorced last year until we finally decided to get back and give it another try this year.
now i'll have to meet with the elders and tell them about my spirituality and doubts about the wts, 1914, 1995 generation change,malawy/mexico,and on and on and my wife will be there.
i do feel sorry for my wife because she has already lost 13 members of her family, "apostasy" and some just left the truth and even though some are not disfellowshipped she won't talk to them, now her husband, is going thru the same thing, she cannot accept it because out of 31 y. in the truth i was an elder and how could that happen.
-
cyberguy
Welcome sspo!
I’m sorry to hear about your situation, but as others have posted here, and in the interest of saving your marriage, I would NOT meet with the elders to discuss your issues with the WT. As you know, such a meeting will not be about what is true or false, but rather, whether you support mommy “O” and mommy’s unique teachings. I would suggest the “depression” defense, along with getting older in life with its many health problems, and that you don’t want to further your depression by such a meeting. The elder’s have been told by mommy “O” to back-off from those with severe depression, so this is your way out! Gradually, over time you may be able to win your wife over from the cult.
I wish you the best! And please keep us informed as to how things are working out!
Peace!
