I'm meeting with the elders this Saturday
by Honesty inthat's right, guys and girls, i'm going to meet with at least two elders this saturday.. before you get ya britches in a big 'ol wad i can explain everything.. it's like this... well, a good friend asked me yesterday if i would be willing to meet with some jw's who have been having a 'bible study' with him for 5 or 6 weeks.
it appears that these jw's are elders and they have informed him that he is not a christian.
he asked them if they would be willing to discuss their beliefs with anyone and everyone so that he could be sure what they are telling him about not being a christian is true.

Christmas and the WTS -- Never been a JW, have questions!
by whyizit ini was recently reading some older wts articles.
it was obviously during a time when christmas was approved of by the wts.
i was considering sending copies (incognito, of course) to my jw friends.

Blood Transfusion Question - Dogs
by Duncan indear everyone,.
there was a very interesting item on this morning's bbc breakfast news programme - to do with blood transfusions for dogs.
a new website has been set up, along with an appeal to owners to type and register their pets as potential donors, should the need arise.

Question for ex-JWs who are Christians
by whyizit ini noticed that many who post here have kind of thrown the "baby out with the bathwater", when it comes to the bible and god.. i understand that there is a fine line between love and hate.
maybe they blame god for the deception.
maybe they don't trust anything to do with god any more.

(For Christians) Why Human Organization Is Unnecessary
by AuldSoul incoming out of jws, one of the most thorough studies i have done is on the topic of human organization.
i have been very careful with this study for two reasons: (1) if human organization is important, then "where else do we go?
" is an important question whether or not that is the question peter asked jesus; and (2) if human organization is not important, it allows us to see christianity, fellowship, and our personal relationship with christ in a whole new way.. i set out to determine whether human organization was necessary (and therefore, important), not to prove that it is unnecessary.

Bible Study - what do you think of this?
by Bad Girl ini cant help thinking that the original "bible students" did things the right way compared to how its done today.
they sat together in small groups, read and discussed scriptures and then wrote down their findings.
they did this until they had gone through the whole bible.. i know that reading the entire bible is a prerequisite for becoming a jw, but i wonder how many jws really do it or if most of them just know the regular snippets of scripture which are quoted in the magazines, and of course in field ministry etc.. i have decided that allthough i have read the bible - i think i am going to do a study of it the way these early bible students did, im going to read paragraph by paragraph and write down my findings and my feelings about what is written.
